    Yep make that video! Calories count - and what's been working for me is to stay on the lower end of the starch calories (corn, potatoes, and oats @ 400 calories per lb). I am a "volume eater", though and always have been. But I'll eat about a half pound of spinach a day, plus tons of veggies, and a couple of fruits (no dates lol). It's what works for me!

    I fell of the wagon for a month or so over the holidays🙄, I got pulled into fancy packaging ect🌮🥧, you have helped me so much getting over that and yes I am feeling the discomfort of bloat with all the beautiful leafy greens🥬🫑 and veg🥦🥕🍠 again but I know I am fueling my body right now and that's all that matters➡️ thank you Emmie

    Love this. Starch isn't just magic, calories are calories. Starches are still amazing but you are so right and I love that you said it.

    Ya, I did the date, nuts, and pb binge thing. I also overate rice, beans, etc. Plants are healthy; right? Well, I can eat as many vegetables as I want. However, I am 4' 11" and only require about 1300 calories. The only way I can Not be hungry is to eat small amounts grains, beans, fruit, or starchy veggies accompanied by lots of veggies with zero nuts, seeds, avocados, or oil. Once I realized this truth, especially after menopause, I can satisfy my man-sized appetite and maintain a healthy weight for my size. Yes, make that video AnD lots of others as well.       @AshtonLynnMarie I understand that too! I exercise for my bone health. I used to lift weights but switched up my exercise the last year and a half.

      @@ashtonlynnmarie I love to exercise, too: yoga, kayaking, walking, hiking, and a little lifting. It doesn't seem to affect my weight stability at all. It certainly didn't help me lose weight before I went plant-based. However, maybe it accounts for my ravenous appetite. lol

      I am 4'10" and in between peri & menopause. The weight just wants to pile on my midsection/belly!! Being this short makes any weight gain too much!! I'm still worried about the higher carbs!😥

      @SuzyQ - You said a whole word! I’m 4 weeks in to my WFPB journey. Prior to starting, I did a 7 day detox tea cleanse and lost 6 pounds (water weight I’m sure). However, the scale hasn’t moved since. I’m realizing that I need to go easy on the starchy veggies and high fat foods and fill up more on leafy and non starchy veggies. Although I’m full and satiated doing the 50/50 plate, I’m also bloated and constipated. So I agree 💯 you can’t just mindlessly eat as much as you want, especially if you’re in the weight loss phase.

    I really appreciate this video. After hitting a plateau for over a month - I had to come to the same conclusion that no - I could not just eat what I wanted on this whole plant based starch diet! I have gone ahead and starting tracking calories and macros - to get myself on track. I am hoping to see the numbers come down when I weigh in again. Its hard but it took years for the weight to get on and our bodies don't like to lose. But Im determined and this diet makes me feel good. Ive added in non gluten to the mix as well - which Im 95% following. Im also exercising on a regular basis. I started this all for hormone balancing and weight control. What keeps me is how good I feel. Keep making your videos - its really helpful!!

    Yes!!! Make that video! When I first started researching this way of eating I couldn’t get over how people “influencers” were eating. I just feel like they down convey the diluting the calories with lower calorie foods or to listen to hunger cues. They’d just show these huge bowls of food they would eat. I’m so in love with dates, I have 1-2 day as my treat. I had to learn not to eat the whole bag as well🤣

    *Make That Video* PLEASE! I hear 'as much as you want' and watch my weight increase. I'm currently trying to figure out when I'm actually hungry and stopping when satisfied. I've been a 'clock eater' for so long that I'm seriously out of touch. Ugh.

    I just started my plant based diet and I have IBS, so needless to say my colon isn't very happy right now! 😀 It will pass, (no pun intended😀) my gut will calm down after a while and get used to what I am putting in my stomach.     Please make that video 💙💚🧡💜💛❤️ I’ve found that 3 meals a day of 500 (400 cals of starch, 100 cals of sauce, and I don’t count cals for plain steamed veggies) calories plus a 300 calorie snack (tons of hummus and carrots for example) + paired with an hour or two of walking a day is great. I will reiterate, I really do seem to personally be able to eat unlimited quantities of **raw** water rich fruit or veggies without having to “count” those calories. Like; baby carrots, broccoli, melon, blueberries, apples, oranges, snap peas, cucumber, celery, and so on!

    I tend to overeat at meals. All of those years of weighing and measuring have left me with challenges in being attuned to my body’s huger and satiation cues. And I think I have beliefs around leaving food behind and not finishing what I have prepared to eat - I must not waste food for example. 😳🤭🤪

    I don't have hunger cues unless I go for 12 hrs or more with out eating. an by then I'm ravenous when my brain catches up . So I have to set a timer so I don't forget to eat.

    Could you do a video on the effects of different diets on lipids, blood glucose, A1C? It seems like people are successful on the Starch Solution, Mediterranean, and Keto. Moving away from the standard American diet…ugh processed foods and sugar elimination are the two big keys to success. I remember from my youth to stay away from starches, they raise blood sugar etc…….yet it works! How is that? Thanks, love the channel.p

    I calorie count because I can easily finish 3-5 pounds of potatoes in one day, along with eating other foods, so I now avoid potatoes. Strangely they are not satieting for me.

    I eat all my meals off small side plates or small bowls. If I am still hungry after 20-30 min I’ll eat more.
