very nice update you have been busy looks very nice thanks for sharing look forward to seeing you do your scenery cheers, for now, stay safe and well, all the best al 😁👍🙋♂️👍👍👍
Good progress in October Richard. It doesn't seem long ago that you were putting baseboard frames together and now trains are running very nicely. I really like the action of those point motors, very smooth. Take care and I'll see you on your next update. David.
Thanks David! Yes - it's been a month where I've got a load done! Very pleased with the progress, hopefully November will be the same, more likely now that we're about to go into lockdown again in the UK! Hope you're well mate.
Hi Richard- I must say you have made a fine job of the track laying as not only does it look very neat and tidy but the locos are running very smoothly. It wont be far off where you can celebrate a loop running. Looking forward to seeing the layout progress ...............Cheers Kev
Brilliant update Richard 👍 I my have a few questions about the point motors from RRP and are they straight forward to fit and do you have to run them with the laptop software you have. Sorry if I've been a bit quiet I lost all interest in modeling after being bad but slowly getting back into it.
Hi Gary! Hope you're OK mate. I think that happens to us all sometime! The MP1s are about £15.50 each and don't need to be run via computer (or even DCC). Can be wired up to a switch and run manually. They are really easy to fit, the level of lateral adjustment means they are more forgiving that ones I have used in the past.
I'm doing that with my MK3s but I just don't think I'll get round to doing the MK2 rake for years and I need to get everything else up and running so the cash is very useful! Glad you enjoyed the update!
Great to see trains running on the layout, so smooth too. I love DCC Train Automation too, and those MP1 motors are excellent, I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a compact and versatile point motor. Shame you have had to get rid of the lima stock, but if it isnt running well on the code 75 then its a wise move. Until next time Alex
Hi Richard, It's lovely to watch your trains running so smoothly on your track along with the slow speeds. No stopping or juddering, well done mate, hope mine runs as smoothly. Regarding the lift out section, not too sure how it fits into place but with a little bit of woodwork could those clips not fit underneath so you can space the one on the right out like you wanted to. They would not be in eyesight and you can add scenery a little easier otherwise they look great, good and solid. Regards Chris
Cheers Chris. Everything is running really well at the moment, so I'm very pleased with how that's gone so far. There is not going to be any scenery on the lift out section, so no real worries about the way they look. I might add another one at the front of the board but it's totally solid so might just leave it as it is.
Why do you and other modellers I've seen leave big unsleepered gaps where the track sections join? If that was done in the real world, trains would be derailing allover the place...
The ones in this video are just in the fiddle yard and as such doesn't really matter too much. It's often where wires are attached or to apply fishplates to hold the rails together. You can easily put sleepers back under here but on a non-scenic area there isn't too much point as the trains run fine across them. On the scenic side of things I won't leave big gaps at all.
All looking good👍 can’t wait to see how the layout develops....
Cheers & stay safe

Thanks very much! I'm looking forward to getting enough done to get the next video up

Cheers Al! Once I have the full loops wired up and tested, the backscene in and all the signals wired up it'll be on to the scenery!
Hey Richard! That's a lot of progress, and fantastic, too. Trains look smooth, track looks sharp. I hope you're pleased and doing well.
Really coming on well mate looks great

looking forward to watching the progress on your layout, great work so far!
Hi Pete. No they are the Heljan 00 ones that were recently released. Bachmann have just released some more under their EFE range.
@@stmichaelshill7421 cheers
Great work Richard, one thing that really stands out is the extremely smooth running quality of stock.

Excellent update Richard, nice to see some movement and a nice size fiddle yard. Shame about selling the Lima stock, could change the wheels Andy
