To join in on the chorus, St. Michael's Hill was a brilliant layout to watch you build and work. A lot of great sessions on the channel. Yet, it totally makes sense that, if it is not the layout you are going to use and someone wants to give you money for it, it is time to sell. It will be tough, I am sure, but like others have said, I am more focused on the new one. It is a watershed moment, for sure. Thanks to the layout for several hours of pleasurable viewing and instructions. Now, on to the new build. Cheers, Richard!
Hi Richard, I found myself focusing on the layout rather than the locos and operations this time. It was a very well built and detailed layout and gives great insight as to how great the new layout will be. Hope all is well, David.
Thanks David. I really hope to achieve the same or better standard but on a lot larger area next time. That's the challenge I guess. Thanks for always supporting my channel David
Nice running session sad to see the old layout go but i am sure the layout you are building now will have some resemblence to the old layout. cheers and all the best. Nicholas.
Cheers Nicholas. I don't think the new layout will look too much like this, I'm hoping it'll look better! But seriously it'll be a very different scene although there are a few elements like the station that will be similar.
Sad to see it go mate but now it can enjoy a new home whilst you build the new layout. Cracking layout and the fact someone wants to buy it off you is a testament to your work. Alex
Hi Richard - St Michael's has served both you and us viewers well and rather than just being stored its great news that it will be used and so the decision to sell seems the correct one. And full steam ahead (excuse the pun ) with the new one. Cheers Kev
strange to see it go... was actually the layout that got me back into trains lol! if it wasnt for st micheals hill i honestly dont think id have any trains left at all, and my channel would be long gone. hope the new owner enjoys having it!
Hi Richard, This layout if I remember correctly was built so you could practice your skills for the super duper one you are doing now so I think you have had your moneys worth out of this and I am sure you are sad to see it go the fact you will make some money out of it is super the next question is what are you going to buy out of the proceeds?. Please keep safe and well and am looking forward to the next update to see how your getting on. Cheers Robert.
That's right Robert. This was my first layout back in the hobby and taught me a lot. I am going to re-invest the proceeds into some point motors and there might also be a part exchange element... but that would be telling! Hope you're safe and well mate.
Bloody hell Richard I thought you was pulling a Jones then, dismantling the layout just after laying the track, hope the new owner gets as much out of the layout as you have Andy

Haha! No no, very committed to the new layout! Yeah I think the new owner is excited and will hopefully use it a lot more than I would have done!
