My 2011 has the issue that you have with the 2012 Retina. If you don't want that 2012 let me know, I'll get it from you and fix it. Both MBPs run basically the same HDD/Storage structure. Main= OS X and Applications/Programs ONLY & Secondary = Storage (home folder, music, documents, downloads, photos, etc) and DVS music. The "special operation" that mines have that no one uses and I implemented this into the DJ realm is #OperationSuperhero or "PERFORMANCE Dual Boot. I don't have a RUclips video about it so the only way you can learn about it is searching for it in the groups I listed in a comment earlier. But if you want a "FLAWLESS RUNNING OSX" it is the best way to go if you upgraded to an OS X that is not working right but no way to go back without restoring without a backup.....BEST METHOD.

Had so many Macbooks, don't even get me started. If they would make a real "Pro" model again, aka 17" screen option, 1" thick with some real cooling, removable drives and RAM, I'd likely jump back. (on the other hand, feels good being back on Windows) My CPU scores 1250 minimum even on reduced settings, my CPU will not go over 72 degrees on CPU-only stress tests; MB Pro with i9 struggles to get above 1,000, with their "fix" for the overheating to limit it even more, only getting about 940 on Cinebench.
What is better a PC laptop or MacBook Pro when it comes to DJAYING The reason I ask is because I can upgrade a pc laptop so much easier and maybe even cheaper
AVITOKING KING there's absolutely nothing wrong with using a PC. A lot of people do even Mojax. As long as it has a good processor, lots of RAM and a dedicated graphics card you should be fine.
I never had to switch! Because I can carry up to 4 pc's identical with me, for just in case, for less than one mac. I've chose the latitude E6530 because is easy to open and clean up the fan and re-paste the cpu. I'm running a cpu with 6MB cache (very important) and 8GB ram - plenty for dj-ing. Primary 120GB SSD, secondary is in a CD to HDD replacement adapter/box/caddy, USB cables with ferrite. Stop the windows updates, defragmenter and no file indexing on SSD's. Done! Clone it on the other E6530 once a month. Take both with you in different bags to any gig and you'll be safer. Make sure, Alexa is staying home though! New MacBook Pros are trash for DJing. Not upgradable so you would have to spend a ridiculous amount of money to maximize it. No magnetic safe power cord port. Dongles cost money and more junk to make these units work every thing else! What a ripoff! So I’m still using a 2009 MacBook Pro with Serato DJ pro. TB SSD, 16 gig Ram.
Cleveland Terry Bowens Then it’s fraudulent to call it a Pro machine. I’m going to get a 2012 MBP just as a backup when ever I get some spare change. I hate being in this position
On 2012-15 retina models you can upgrade the SSD. On 2016 and up... unless you have the 13" model ONLY.... then you can upgrade the SSD as well. All the 15" everything is on the motherboard. We in the age of 1TB and up. Apple puts in 256GB soldered on SSD as default and charge a hell of alot if you upgrade from that 256GB and go up 1TB up to 8TB. All at the point of sale... Buy it configured standard and that's what u get out of the box. Unless you got $6,900 you can max it out with... apple is just greedy.
I thought I was the only one that recognized my Echo as COMPUTER? We have 4 in upstairs bedrooms....3 3rd gen Echo Dot and 1 2nd gen Echo Dot.....2 with ALEXA, 1 with ECHO, & 1 with COMPUTER.
The RAM upgrade makes a BIG difference but the SSD doesn't....PRO= no spinning/clicking noises and heat from the drive and lighter. Your the disc controllers for that year are 3gb/sec where the SSD and 2011-2012(pre-Retina) are 6gb/sec. I have SSDs in mines so as long as you upgrade the RAM you will see a difference but not much in the SSD.

the problem with the Mac Books and around 2010 / 2012 ... Apple used poor thermal paste. The Mac Book is totally worth taken apart and upgrading and putting the advance paste on the heat sinks and other heated parts. Sorry but the new Mac Books are NO BETTER than the old one. JUST MORE MONEY for Apple and for what when Apple knows they used poor crap in the computer and does not stand behind it. It is sad when a multi-Billion or Trillion dollar company take their buyers. We could go on forever about Apple but we will stop here...lol.
The problem that makes MBP substantially less than a PC laptop is the cooling system.....the intake is the same as the exhaust. There's no separate venting for cool and hot air thru this unit. It's where you have to rely on an app to control or regulate your fan speed for cooling. SMC app.
@@DaKydd007 Agree, but still what my statement said about poor thermal paste. I know this because my MBP .. the would glitch out. The fix is taken totally apart get motherboard ( NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART), a lot of things can break and tiny screws that go in a certain place )ok gonna love this, put in the oven at 375 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes take out let cool then put new paste and put back together. NOT A PERMANENT FIX due to your statement DaKydd007. AND YES Apple knows of the issue. Ever since I did this no problem at all with my MBP.... till the thermal past wears down but will take longer than what Apple used.

I have a 2009 MBP (Duo Core, 6gb RAM, 240gb SSD-PRIMARY, and 1TB HDD-SECONDARY) and 2011 (Quad Core, 8Gb RAM, 240 Gb SSD-MAIN, 2TB SSHD/Hybrid-SECONDARY).
I switched to pc due to macs only having USB c
u can get USB C to B Cables on Amazon
@@rayflexentertainment1545 yeah but it adds another link to the chain if you know what I mean🙂
@@johnparker8270 Me too.. sitting on 5 TB of storage, more than you can even get in a MB "Pro", and at less than half the price (oh and with the 1080 GPU...).
What is better a PC laptop or MacBook Pro when it comes to DJAYING
The reason I ask is because I can upgrade a pc laptop so much easier and maybe even cheaper
AVITOKING KING there's absolutely nothing wrong with using a PC. A lot of people do even Mojax. As long as it has a good processor, lots of RAM and a dedicated graphics card you should be fine.
WOW 😲👌🏾🙏🏾👍🏾💯🎼thank you for your help advice and videos
Hello, pls how did u turn off the touch bar?
Ray Flex Entertainment tell me
What’s is the best Mac book for Dj I’m still using Pc lol
... the mid 2012 pro 13 inch
Forgot something: check the channel: Louis Rossmann
i'm surprised you don't talk about PC laptop users pros and cons ... i'm a PC user using Serato never had a problem yet
William Giraud tbh, I haven’t DJd with PC in years. Maybe I’ll do that. I’m working on somethings.
William Giraud
That’s what I’m saying too bro
The Dell XPS Laptop is also a good one.
Ima AMD Fan Boy All The Way, The Stuff That They Make, much Better, And Last Longer Those Pocessers Can Take A Beating Trust Me From Content Creation To DJ ing To What Ever AMD Is A Beast!
Serato never has or ever will support AMD. They don't even recommend it. They believe in Intel all the way.
Upgraded the rams and change too ssd.
Im using windows & it works fine...
True but unfortunately most things aren't upgradeable anymore. It's the world we live in. Mid 2012 MBP was the last one.
I binned off mac and went pc. No issues no regrets 😉
John Parker I'm too stuck to move.
I thought I was the only one that recognized my Echo as COMPUTER? We have 4 in upstairs bedrooms....3 3rd gen Echo Dot and 1 2nd gen Echo Dot.....2 with ALEXA, 1 with ECHO, & 1 with COMPUTER.
yeah...not the smartest thing I've done
Thanks for the Info... next time clean your screens LMFAO
Lol. I know.
Elexir stfu😂
Still rocking my 2010 MBP, upgraded to ssd and the ram.
how is that holding up for you? i was thinking of doing the same thing.
Just bought 2 MacBook Pros Late 2013 yesterday. One for me, one for a friend. for 350 bucks, absolutley best value for DJs.
Sounds like a great deal but I don’t know any of the specs.
@@ClevelandTerry 8 GB RAM, 512 SSD,
i5-4258U, 2019 apple replaced Display because of Staingate and replaced battery (under 100 charge cycles).
I thing all dj controller should have USB-C and USB-B wires in the box 📦
my bad it dosen't work that way.
MacBook Pro 2012
Brother terry okay I’ll wait for number 4 in the software Dj world peace 🎶😎
Maybe if you used the word laptop instead of computer, Alexa won't bug you. Lol
PC Is King.
We will agree to disagree. They both have their strong points.
Serato is very buggy.. I bet that's ur problem I've been having lots of issues with it
As I’ve been testing other DJ software I’m starting to realize that.
@@ClevelandTerry this is what it's been doing to me:
-Playlist don't show up
-Crashing
-Crashes when I close Serato
-Won't let me log out of tidal
I have had to delete and reinstall app multiple times to get it to stop.. I recommend if your doing a gig to roll back to 2.05
Cleveland Terry Bowens how do you turn off the Touch Bar? I updated to Mojave, got my Rane 12’s, and Reloop Elite all around the same time. My wave forms have been super glitchy ever since and I can’t narrow down the problem
Settings/keyboard/set keys to function only keys. The F keys.
Settings/keyboard/set keys to function only keys. The F keys.
I moved over and move back
Stay with the older Macbook because it's better than the new one
It’s not better, just different.
@@ClevelandTerry I said better because that macbook have so much USB Ports
I’ll take the 2012 over that 2017
AMD.com Check Them Out, Power House Performance For A Much Cheaper Price Than Intel.
Mac book is a no no for me,Over priced and i can get a way better laptop for way less.
apple people think just because they spend huge amounts of $$$$ they have the best devise, it dosen't that way.
Virtual Dj = 🗑 ......... review done...
Lol
🤣🤣🤣
Dude! You seriously need a girl friend and stop having a relationship with Siri !!!!
Intel is Like apple they think there the best but they are not.
the problem with the Mac Books and around 2010 / 2012 ...
By the way, sir love your channel. have a great weekend, James
Thank you!
LOl if you need your MBP fix send me a shout out, I enjoy fixing them.
all apples made within the last 10 years are all the same inside my freind sorry to burst your bubble.
You could say the same thing about all intel based computers.
its garbage!!! dump it Terry.
