You don’t know the amount of pressure I had to buy a new MacBook and Rev7… you can still make a good start with that set you just used 👏👏👏👏 thanks

You can buy a Mac air and dj also. Im glad I always had my own thought process when it came to things like this. Also 128gbs is terrible for music management. That is phone storage.

A solid video and good message to beginners or people lusting after being a dj but never really did it live or with the proper equipment.

Thanks for the video. I bought my 2nd hand Windows laptop for 160€ last year. A bit older than yours (2014 I think) but with an i7 and a dedicated graphics card. Updated RAM to 16 GB and it runs Serato Pro quite well - even stems are a go!

No blue death screens or just shut downs. How is the pc meter at the top of the Dj window. And I should have asked first is the cpu meter still there. I’m using Traktor. And I was a huge serato Guy. I had the original -ext-rectangular sound hub . Than I got a Mac for quick down loads and notice music play from the Mac thru the same mixer sounded way better that the serato / control vinyl was tooo much shot going on. And using a straight controller was better I assumed and bought an NS7 and had to go to a waaaay better Mac 🖥️ so I did and bought a 25.inch I Mac rammed out with crazy HD space and only stored music in external drives. Redundantly . Just in case. But now I’m a Traktor freak with a Mac book pro with a solid state drive and a glyph 2 tb solid state HD . the S s is key no moving parts . And I’m on my 3 rd Traktor S4 controller. Serato doesn’t compare.

How many different transition techniques do you use? If possible can you break them down by percentage used?

DJin applications are not cpu intensive, so even intel MACs from way back will be just fine. The only thing would be battery if using without a power source

Hi, if I have a 2015 Mac air with Monterey OS, it’s still okay to download the newest Pro version? Will it work?
I have a FL-X4 controller, do you think it’ll be compatible to use? I didn’t see it on the Monterey “compatible” list.

You can mix on your iphone for $50 a year. And get Tidal and your good. Get a $90 smaller controller and mix anywhere. Much better for beginners

@@flyrobin2544… tidal will definitely let you down especially if you dont have a great WiFi signal and if DJ’s like using stems tidal now doesn’t let you use stems anymore with it it let a friend of mine down in the middle of a gig his song froze up if djs want to stream I suggest getting beatsource streaming platform it works great and built for serato for djs by djs!

Whoa lets be honest with ourselves here. Buying a 12 year old Macbook and expecting a lengthy ownership is just a dreamy Saturday in January youd need to update, unfortunately these MAcbooks from 2012 have done their time and software upgrades will become a serious issue so be a lil more recent with your purchase..Now u can do some beginner stuff on this 2017 Macbook yes but as u improve and expand youd need a more powerful processor and a newer unit..Heads up,yeah u might find it a waste of time and money but when that MBP 2012 gives up youd be in the same position youre in at present,on a budget and cant get what you need at the cost. Youre better off buying an M1 that can still be supported till about 2027...2028 even,2012 has no support for most apps needed in 2024 anyway and the performance and battery life sucks. Back then they worked really great but ....well time caught up and processors have improved drastically so be smart bro...

Thank you, I'm interested to purchase another mixer, away from Apple and Traktor. I believe I will be in peace, working on my music, knowing nobody will interfere with my time, duplicating, deleting, and low cost materials to be replaced, updating the system several times with no inproverments. Not to mention purchased over 8,000 songs from iTunes, I hope all dejays will not trust these corporations, consistently promoting new equipment's.
