Hi Nick ! I’m planning to buy a new computer. Not sure if I should go with M1 processor or Intel 7. A sales person at the apple store who does music production told me not to go with the m1 processor because it won’t work as well compared to intel. He said M1 are good for student/ teachers but not for people who use dj softwares or music production . When I called back , other sales people said that the M1 is just fine ( Serato dj pro is now compatible with M1 processor ). Im getting a bit confused here. As of now I will just be using serato dj pro. Not sure if I’ll be using music production software. It really depends on how good I’ll get at djing and whether I will pursue it or not. Hey Nick, I’m leaning toward getting a Mac for my DJing. Any recommendations on what I should get around $1200. Also do you have any issue using adapter for the USB ports
This is what I use and have an adapter for usb it runs my RBX-1 lighting as well flawlessly
I have a good 2018 macbook pro Catalina, i7, 16g ram, 2.5 ghz. I use traktor pro 3.6(2022) a traktor kontrol s4 mk3 with 2 turntable stanton T.92. It works, than it doesn't work. Basically its on then off, then on....offI. Im Getting low connection errors from the turntables. What do I need or what am I doing wrong?
Yo! What about all my music & streaming power? I have 20,000 songs and will stream new music.

Hey Nick I have a apple iPad Pro is Big Suri compatible with my controller as of 2022?
I love the vids man....... however, recently i got curious to see what happens when you try runnin serato on an AMD processor anf to my surprise it works great i used a ryzen 5 and it worked flawlessly.
Dude👊 thank you so much for explaining this so crystal clear than even my 3 year old got it👏💯
Hey Nick...my issue is... getting the laptop to have a crisper sound to it internally...not sure if it's a stems issue or what...I stream on a platform and when I go live into say..a second life platform...it sounds like it's all bass or filtered!!! There's nothing in the Dell 15 that shows up as tremble or bass or equalizer...and this is my streaming laptop...I'm still getting this one tweeked for gigs...any suggestions
So, I like to offer this as a comparison. I have a Windows gaming laptop, Lenovo y700 15" i-7-6700 with 32gb of ram its solid. But, it compares in stability to my Macbook Pro 2012 i5 with 16gb. Go figure.
wow!!
Does anyone know if they've adapted to the M1 chip yet?
Hey buddy just saw your video and I know this was a yr ago but I'am now looking for a new Mac book that is M1 or M2 are they now compatible with traktor or serato now?
What’s up Nick, your videos are very useful and informative. Thank you for helping the DJ community!
I am interested in updating my 2014 MBP. I’d like to get a new one but I know there’s A few things that are still pending to work well with Serato and the DJ world. Have you found out of any updates on which MBP would be there best now? Or is the info in this video good enough still to make this decision.? TIA, Take care!
I don't know if you can get this in the USA, but try the XMG DJ15 1300 Euro
I'll check it out!
Do you have any advice for buying a laptop strictly for live streaming DJ sets?
Have you ever had a crash in the middle of your set? Or annoying system updates?
i5 8th gen 1.8ghz
8gb ram with 1 tb ssd
lenovo yoga 13. this is probably the bare minimum as backround stuff running will crash me.
make sure that you look at the processor speed as i5 with more then 1.8ghz will be much better over ram
One for you Nick, a windows model XMG dj15, don't think you can get it in the USA. Real good.
is the software up to date with windows 11?? i’m looking to buy a ASUS X515 15.6in i5 8GB 256GB
You can use a I3 also
ONLY with Serato but it will run like shit
@@NickSpinelli what about max out ram ? Maybe running a small controller. Probably sketchy as a neighbor on crack lol jk
virtual dj does in fact work with a amd ryzen 5 at least on desktop
Also on my hp 2021x360 2n1
I'm thinking of getting a razer gaming laptop with the i5 processor, what do you think
Got a link? Should be okay.
Hey Nick.. what Mac do you use?
So should I go with m1 or intel processors ? Thanks for all your help ! Faa
1 year later what did you go with? My dell pc i5 / 8 gb ram jus conked out on me and I’m confused asf what to get
Do you know if Mac 2015 on Mac OS 12.7.5 will work with the Rane firmware 1.7? Serato 3.1.4 (pie...lol)
Very cool. Super informative
Glad you think so! Thanks again for the ideaRRRR!
You are very welcome.
