All 5 are dope ideas…especially the cord extension, but I go a step further for the house party I do with bad wiring. It’s nothing like getting into you best mix and boom power in the whole place goes out…I use an APC backup battery power, once the power went out and my setup was still going with the lights and shyt the party went from 10 to 100 the owner panicked…not me…thanks for those tips…
@nick spinelli. Great 411 video bro. My favorite was the kangaroo floor mat it comes handy after 2-3 hours standing on concrete. Also like to say that i think u are a very talented guy, i admire your DJ skills ive seen on tik tok very OG. In my opinion u would be a funny comedian and actor for funny Movies and comercials too. Keep up the good work. 😎👍
YO NICK! Here's a comment for ya. I'm a skratch dj/ turntablist that's starting out a mobile djing business. I really appreciate your videos as they give me insight into the modern world of mobile djing. Cheers! =)
Other must take items: Gaff Tape/ small screwdriver & Socket set/ some small prizes for kids (glow sticks, sweet) - always great to be able to hand out at any event/ small touch
I just bought a bunch of the rotating flat extension cords before watching this. i bought them for a different reason but I like your reasoning behind having them for your main power.
@Nick Spinelli LOL, BWAHAHAHAHA. DUDE the moment you said “FUCK’EM” I became a subscriber. Gotta love that Italian energy. You are my new favorite You tuber. I hit that bell so I can get all your shit!
when you go to amazon & click your "thing 5" link Amazon actually suggests you get the first aid kit, the extension cord plug & the mic dongles lol thats dope!
Gold Nick... I'm in on all that. Plus I was waiting for someone legit to talk about those wireless dongles. Fuhgit I'm buying 2 pair. I also keep a mini workman's light for when I need to search for things under the table. It also comes in handy when I see someone break glass on the dance floor. I run out there and sit the light down then make my announcement for clean up. Gets the dance floor back in action in no time.. And always always make sure your cellphone plan comes with a good amount of Hotspot data for when the venue does not have wifi. You never know when you need to pull something off the cloud. Great vid.
@@michaelhwatson Google the words, "Gravity Cable Clips" to find a retailer close to you. I got mine from Amazon, and the vendor I used has none available. I use 2 clips per pole I use (generally I have a minimum of 3 poles per event).
A small fan. I have a Honeywell desk fan about 10" diameter for my booth. I was at a wedding as a guest and the DJ setup a Lasco X fan and pointed it to the dance floor. It's the kind you can use to dry floors or setup different ways to get air at difference angles. Boy that thing was a life saver on the hot dance floor. I got one and bring it to my gigs now for others to enjoy.
Great list! I've used an anti-fatigue mat for a few years, such a game changer. Definitely grabbing a few of these you've suggested. I've been taking mini fans to my DJ gigs, too. They work great when the dance floor heats up. Can also give them tot he bride/groom if dinner is a bit warm.
Just a lil' "Sum Sum" to put in the essential kit: 1. GERBER Tool- handy for your equipment coming loose or needing quick repair Bungee cords: from the big ones to help you transport on your cart to the very small ones to help with wire management. 3. Headlamp- OoooooWeeee! A MUST! How many of y'all breaking down and trying to gather everything up in low light conditions??? Light on the cell phone is ok, but that ties one of your hands up. Get a headlamp with elastic cloth headband. It'll change ya life! * Caviat: exta batteries (usually AA's and AAA's) Hope this helps! 💯✊🏾🎵🎶 #djphildabeat
I bought the Xvive U3 wireless system which is identical to this one. Runs $200. Ran it on a cocktail speaker and then switched it out to a wireless mic for toasts. Worked perfectly.
"...Fuck 'em!" 🤣🤣🤣 great advice and great content thanks 👍🏻👍🏻 As a guitar player the comfort mat is genius, had no idea they even existed thanks a mill! 👍🏻👍🏻 The ALTO rant 🤣🤣🤣 subbed just for that 🤣 but seriously these are fantastic tips for any musician!
Great vid. I use the sennheiser ew300 set for wireless all over the country different types of areas and interference zero issues. Cool to hear about something new. And agreed I'd rather just cup my hands and shout rather than use alto anything
Like your style Nick, I like the Senheiser set, very cool. We use an instrument pack with one of our backup mic sets for wireless but that's a lot easier. For the 1st aid kit, gasX, altoids and dry bug spray..lol. The pad for the booth is a must. Liked and subscribed .. see ya soon
Great list Nick. Truly enjoying your videos keep them coming. Favorite item on this list is the XLR dongles, that’s a game changer. My biggest fear is having laptop or equipment problems. Do you have a complete back up set? Maybe an upcoming video of what you take with you on a gig.
Problem with relying on battery powered wireless devices. It becomes another big fear. If an event runs longer than planned or the battery life has dropped over time. You had stuff cut out. In most cases using wireless for speakers I bet you wont have a cable ready to plug into it if it dies
Great tips my man! I love the ear plug tip. At one of my weddings I had a guest sitting at one of the tables next to my speaker and asked me to turn down the music. So I obliged and 10 minutes later the groom came up to me and asked if I turn it up a notch...Guess who won that battle?
Great stuff man. I have all that stuff I bring with me as well. Different brands but same concept. For the wireless speaker solution I use the vocopro silentPA which has been flawless for me. And you’re right, anything Alto is trash!
Regarding the Sennheiser, you can also use it to send sound from the laptop sitting next to the video-projector to send sound to your mixer (or you can use a pocket transmitter to that too). As far of using a wireless system for ceremony for example, I better trust an IEM like the Sennheiser IEM G4.
First aid kit: Add some pain killers, and something in case you get the bubble guts! 5 hour energy shot, & Mini axe spray for the arm pits. Nothing like smelling like a freaking taco truck at a wedding. ( Its been muggy and hot in Cali.. like near Miami style off and on.)
What's you favorite item on this list? Mine is number 5 ALL DAYYYYY
Nick..have you noticed any of the issues people are mentioning in the amazon reviews? Drop outs etc.
Definitely number 5. I'm ordering
Same
