Shufta Recipe is a traditional sweet from the Kashmir region. Kashmiri shufta is a dessert made with a mixture of various dry fruits, Paneer and encrusted with sugar syrup.

Ingredients For Shufta Recipe:
Almonds or Badam: 1 cup
Walnut: 1 cup
Raisins: 1 cup
Cashew nuts: 1 cup
Pista: 1cup
Ghee: 2tbsp
Paneer: 100gms
Sugar: 1 cup
Dry Coconut: 1 cup, sliced
Making Procedure Of Shufta Recipe:
1. Take a mixing bowl and add all dry fruits one by one into it. Add Badam, Walnut, Raisins, cashew nuts, pasta and water enough for soaking.
2. Wash & soak the dry fruits for an hour. Now drain water & keep aside.
3. Heat ghee in a wok and let it spread over the pan fully. Add paneer that is chopped into small cubes. Fry paneer until it turns a golden colour.
4. Sauté it well so that paneer will get cooked on all sides evenly. Transfer it into a bowl and keep aside.
5. Add dry coconut to the same wok and fry coconut pieces till light brown. Once fried transfer into a bowl and keep it aside.
6. Now add soaked dry fruits & nuts to the same pan. Fry it in the ghee for a minute and add sugar and mix well. Fry for a minute by stirring.
7. Then add little water to it and cook till sugar dissolved completely. Add fried coconut slices.
8. Add fried paneer cubes as well. Sauté it well.
9. Cook them for 3 to 4 minutes on low to medium flame. Turn off the flame and transfer to serving bowl.
10. Serve hot or cold. It can be preserved for 2 to 3 days.
Cooking Tips Of Shufta Recipe:
1. Feel free to add any dry fruit to the recipe.
2. You can also add jaggery instead of sugar for a healthier version.
3. It can be stored in airtight container and keep it in a freezer.
