Sister, as always your input and opinion matter and is much valued by your viewers. To add a note to your opinion, I have few friends and family members who - some bought and some built their house. From their as well as many Ethiopians experience of buying and building a house, predominately vast majority of the people choose to buy already built house rather than building one.
Yes, that may have been the case before, but buying houses that are already built has become SO expensive. The houses that I’m talking about cost around $300,000 (USD!) or more.
@@princesslivingfree to be honest with you, as an Ethiopian who has been researching the housing market in Ethiopia, housing price in Ethiopia is outrageously expensive than prices in US or Canada.

House in Ethiopia is very expensive, some of the houses are more expensive than here in the states. What is the housing market in Bahir Dar, Debere Markos, and Gonder?
Yes, houses are very expensive everywhere in Ethiopia, especially if you are looking for a modern home. That’s why I think buying land and building your own home is the better option. I’m not too familiar with the housing market in those areas. It also depends on what you might be looking for.
True- here you have a living example. I’ve so far spent close to ETB10 Million and its current value as the construction is in progress worths ETB30Million and north.
I’m talking about people using low quality materials. Typically, it would result in plumbing issues, doors and windows not being sealed properly, broken fixtures, and cracks in the walls. Really, it’s just minor inconveniences, but for the cost of the house, it’s not acceptable, in my opinion. Not like the house would fall down or something.

I would say it depends who's name is on the title. Is it both of you or just your Ethiopian spouse? However, even if your name is not on the title, your spouse would still legally need your signature to sell it. I would reach out to an Ethiopian attorney for more information to be sure though.
