First Gusha hahaha! As a black man from Detroit that was a shock to experience second I love Ethiopia! My wife’s Habasha I’m back in the U.S and I miss Ethiopia and Addis very much we plan to buy a house there soon and live half the year there I just discovered ur channel and I have subscribed.
I enjoy watching you both do videos together. I am looking forward to watching your journey. I think it's great that you're sharing what you learn with others. What are you doing will change lives. Keep it up!!
Great video! I wanted to ask you if you could talk about the process of building a house in Ethiopia. The cost, finding the right team, the challenges, do you need to be there to manage the project etc. That would be really helpful. God bless you both you are ausome
Yes, you are right. Those are very expensive. Honestly, I think there are some good private schools and other international schools are better and for a cheaper price. It also depends on what type of culture you want your kids to be socialized in-western or more culturally conservative.
Thanks for the info. Question: after you put the down-payment in one of the 3 currencies, should the loan be paid back in foreign currency only? Or, can the loan be paid back in birr?
Hey! Just did this so wanted to offer some info. You can pay back in birr but they will start charging interest (starting at 12%) but if you pay back the loan with dollars you don’t pay interest March 2024
Yes, borrowing money in Ethiopia for a mortgage is expensive. 10% interest is pretty standard there. That's why we encourage "living free" and building with your own money!
@@princesslivingfree I am investor In Europe I only pay between 4&5%. with 10 up 20% down. Sometimes 0% down. The funny thing is, when I look at those villa's or apartment in Ethiopia. They are really not up to date. Is like something is missing in the design. they are not yet there. No disrespect, but this is my opinion. If I have to compare for exemples to South Africa or even Kenya and if I compare the asking price, way too much as well. Just like the renting price. Exact the same
@@princesslivingfree Well I will give you guys another advice, I think if you would have time enough, to start doing real estate showing rentals and short and long term. Property for sell. You will be successful. No 1 is doing it in Ethiopia on the professional level and in English.
Wow, I'm glad they said at the beginning that this video was specifically for Ethiopian diaspora and not us (Americans). That saved me from wasting 22 minutes watching something that didn't pertain to me. It's a bit sad, though, because I'm looking for a place on the continent to relocate, and Ethiopian was near the top of the list of consideration. I guess I'll have to strike this country off. I hate that that is the case.
Correct, but only if you're trying to get a mortgage loan. There is still a way to buy a home or land though. Check out my other videos or send me an email at princesslivingfree@gmail.com.
Very smart!! Your content is very much important!! Been trying to get information on this subject, the citizen requirements unnecessary
So much important info. Brought out here for us. I have learned a lot.
Appreciated it.
Thank you ☺️

What do you think of kids schooling I know a few like Sanford and America international are very expensive.

Only in foreign currencies for the diaspora account 😊

Interest rate at 10% this is not a joke. Way to expensive. Are all the banks in Ethiopia around 10% interest rate??

So, being that I'm not Ethiopian diaspora this video pretty much does me no good.
