This movie is a wake up call to parents who usually are separated and has no quality time for their children due to pressures at work. Communication is so important especially for kids with parents who are divorced. Children don't really speak out because they feel abandoned and rejected. I can relate to this kind of situation. However I see to it that I know what my son's problems. Talking to them gives them the sense of importance and parents should not only talk to them they also have to give them quality time by being with them for at least once a week. Your presence is important . This way they feel they are loved and important. It's a lot of work but if you love your kids show it to them let them feel you love them.❤😊

May I say that without faith in God it is needed to help ourselves cope with complications of parents that make each child feel abandoned because parents don't talk to their children.

      Finally, someone who gets it!
I didn't like her either, I just felt like she didn't care enough to try and understand or build a connection with Nicolas. She just wanted him and his mother out of her husband life so bad.
And don't even get me started about that one scene when Nicolas was offering to help babysit his own little brother, and she was basically being a b**** 😒
Or when Nicolas started questioning her why she stole his father away, broke up his family, and if she ever felt guilty about it. And she said, "What do you want me to do about that Nicolas?" ... 🤬
      Also,
3:35 pissed me off. Like damn, mind your own business lady 😂 it's not like she "really" care about Nicolas like that anyways.

    • @kryzn1131
      @kryzn1131 Год назад +3

The movie is relatable and it’s something that happens in real life.
You can’t blame the new wife for not trusting Nicholas to babysit the baby since she knows Nicholas is not mentally stable and knowing the fact that she found a knife under his bed. Also, Nicholas is distancing himself from her and that’s something out of her control. You can’t force someone to be close to you if they don’t want to.
Neither the parents can’t help Nicholas in this situation. Any suicidal person needs constant monitoring and the reason why the doctor recommended for him to stay in the hospital. Mental illness is not something that you just brush off and think that everything goes back to normal again.
Being part of a divorced and broken family is difficult but as parents, you need to be emotionally, physically, and mentally strong for your child/ren. The worse thing that a parent can do is bad mouth your Ex coz it will brainwashed and only do harm to your child.
Doesn’t matter how difficult it is but if you decided to co-parent, think what will be the best interest for your child.
Last but not the least, if parents show their child/ren that they are fine even after divorce, the kids would worry less and will not shoulder the burden.
Sometimes, children who are from broken families just want reassurance and feel secured from his/her parents knowing that no matter what happened in the past, everything is still amicable.
And for all the children who went through this, know that life is not over even after divorce. Life must go on. Sometimes, one thing that children must realize is that when you don’t help yourself, you are also making it difficult for your parents to help you. You are making your parents suffer and drained them emotionally, physically, and mentally. It’s not the end of the world for you. I know it’s difficult and I am not condoning parents to separate, but if it ever happens, please know that you are not the first person to experience this. Your parents maybe separated but know that they are still here for you. So try to be strong, coz at the end of the day, you are responsible for your own actions and happiness.

WHEN PARENTS CAN'T MAKE IT WORK AND ABANDEN THE FAMILY, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. PARENTS NEED TO GROW UP AND MAKE IT WORK THROUGH FAITH, SELFLESS BEHAVIOUR, AND GIVING UP THEIR PRIDE AND ARROGANCE. @@theartistdesigner9338 that’s the thing tho… it really doesn’t do a great job of portraying depression. It misses opportunities to depict the emptiness and numbness that come with depression and instead opt for a more clunky display of histrionics. 9 times out of 10, a depressed person isn’t going to be in a perpetual state of crying and freaking out; they are going to seem despondent and checked out of themselves. There are a lot of movies with much better depictions of depression. Melancholia, Manchester by the sea, eternal sunshine for the spotless mind, little miss sunshine, just to name a few.

This movie accurately depicts the condition of our modern mentally depraved society. A pampered, thin-skinned, spineless sissified culture. This boy grows up in a divorced home and is confused. Causing him to be very deeply depressed and to cut himself. The movie nearly ends with the boy telling his parents that he's sorry and asking for forgiveness. Resulting in the funniest scene in the entire movie - shooting himself. I hadn't laughed that hard in a while. It was hilarious. I grew up in a double divorced home, with a terrible-tempered mother, and was also very confused. I never wanted to kill myself. There are Holocaust survivors who found a reason to live and find happiness of some sort. So there's no excuse for any American to want to take their own life because of depression.

He didn't shoot himself because his parents divorced, he has depression and this is a disease. This is why people kill themselves and no one sees it coming, because people like you will shame them if they talk about it. There is always someone with a life more miserable than you.
