Brandon Jordan is a great coach, as a former college football player and pass rusher, i used his work all the time to better my game the seahawks got a good one with him
I’m just so happy for Geno! After what he went through on his playing career is good to see him with a successful coach that know how to use him to his strengths
I love the idea of receiver for them at pick 20 because of Locketts age and they just need a third anyway. JSN, Zay, Addison at 20 is perfect to play in the slot next to their 2 and be terrifying. And if they can't get one of those three they can look at Downs or Tank in round 2
As a Seahawks fan at the U of Arkansas I love the Ricky Stromberg Pick, he was amazing to watch and never seemed to have a bad game. Absolutely would love to have him as a Hawk
I’m really glad you identified interior offensive and defensive lines as glaring holes the Seahawks need to fill. If they could get even close to this draft, I would be ecstatic. With this exact off season the Seahawks could be in the NFCCG in 2023. I’m not a huge fan of their pseudo-Fangio style scheme on D but if they’re going to stick with it, you gave them the best personnel to succeed with it.
The fact Geno's contract is set up to be a 1 year deal with most of the guarantees being in year 1 is absolutely insane. His contract is heavily incentives based. With his Average AV being 25 million per year. But if surpasses his Passing Yards, TD's, Passer rating, Completion% and win Wins/Playoffs from 2022 he earns another 15 million over 2 years. Having two 1st round picks there are many possibilities. QB, DL, WR and none of them are wrong. Having two 2nds also opens up bolstering the LB and IOL groups. This team could legitimately be a top 3 Team in the NFC in just a season.
It's an extraordinarily team friendly contract. He clearly wants to be in Seattle because no agent in their right mind would have allowed him to sign it unless that's where he wants to be.
18:50 you meant Keanu Benton good stuff here Brett I couldn' agree more abt the seahawks superbowl window John Schneider is a wizard I put all my faith in him w my eyes closed
This mock draft and free agency doesn’t really address their need at LB enough. Jordyn Brooks is either going to miss time or not be fully recovered for next season so they need someone in addition to Barton. One of their second round picks or some of the FA budget should be spent on a starting quality linebacker.
This series overall contains some of the best NFL analysis I've ever seen, even if some of the predictions don't work out. ESPN needs someone like you!
Oh man, I’m only up to the DTR selection but this is exactly what I think we need to. I had someone else in mind for the 5th pick, but if we can snag half the guys on this list i don’t doubt we’ll be truly contending again and that just incentivizes us trading our first rounders again. Love the analysis, very authentic. You should get more videos pumped out on the NFL network, you make that experience for me and a lot others so great.
Schneider not even getting an exec of the year nomination is INSANE, man should have won it, what he did all offseason happens like once in 50 years if ever.
I heavily disagree with resigning Cody Barton he isn’t a good tackler at all and he is honestly pretty slow if you saw most of the Seahawks games you saw the back of cody Barton’s jersey constantly as he tried keeping up with nfl running backs he just ain’t fast or athletic enough to play in the NFL I don’t think any teams would pick him up if we released him.
@@thek3289 definitely possible a lot of people expected us to draft him but we went with jordyn brooks instead I think getting him with a later pick would be solid

However I don't agree with letting both Poona Ford and Al Woods go, I think you should at least resign one of them just in case all those interior d-line draft picks don't work out and you need a veteran there. Other than that, I'm 100% with you, thiswould be a good offseason! Love the DTR pick btw, that's exactly what we need right now. A decent developmental QB that can learn one or two years behind Geno and either get traded if Geno works out long term or become the starter if not.
love the draft brett, my one gripe would be i think the seahawks need to address linebacker earlier in the draft if they don’t get a chance to sign someone in FA, other than that i appreciate the video and keep crushing it!
Brett, I feel like you've got a really good pulse on some of these teams and how they do things. I say that because watching your other videos, I was expecting you to add in splash signings for the Seahawks this off-season even though we never participate in wave 1 of free agency. I had no problem with that because it's hard to know that unless you're actually in the weeds and following this team as a fan. Seeing how you sorted a pretty low key free agency period, and made the specific picks you did definitely wowed me and made me think that this could be a fairly realistic outcome based on how they do things! Even if it doesn't pan out, I feel like it's been thought through in John Schneiders shoes. Really appreciate the level of detail
I love how ironic it is that you mention tyree Wilson and Myles garret, when I was in high school I met tyree before he ever went to Texas A&M and I asked him if he was going to be a myles garret, the confidence in that “yeah, I’ll be better” is 100% what has gotten him to where he’s at now from a low rated texas high school kid
As an east coast Seahawks fan, I remember disliking signing Geno as our backup since I’ve heard so many bad comments about him from Jets/Giants fans. By the start of the 2021 season, I was much more invested in football, and I felt confident that Geno was able to develop behind Russ just in case of injury. Well, that’s what happened when Russ went down for 3 games. Geno kept us the game for the first two and dominated the Jags in his third game. I was devastated when we traded Russ since he was my favorite player in the league and someone I looked up to, so my confidence in Geno was a bit pessimistic, plus it’s kinda hard to form your opinion when everyone makes up one narrative about the situation before any games are even played. Thank you for making a 41 minute video on my seahawks when they dont get talked about anywhere else except one off mentions on mcafee when something cool happens.
Not bad. I am definitely on the Anthony Richardson hype train. But I don't have all the insight that the scouting team and GM John Schneider and Pete Carroll have. So I'll be passing attention to those names you mentioned and doing a little extra deep diving into them. Thank you for the video. Go Hawks!!!!
Great video. I like your philosophy for the Seahawks draft. As a Hawks fan my prediction/hope is that AR will picked up by some desperate team at number one and we don’t have to worry about that dilemma once our number 5 pick arrives. I think DTR is a natural for the Seahawks and Zay Flowers we may have to trade up but it’s worth it.
Ikenna went to my highschool (Ruskin Highschool), he graduated a lil bit before I became a freshman, but I believe I met him once when he came back for one of our wrestling practices. Kinda surreal so see the world be such a small place.
As a MN Vikings fan, I would love to see DTR in purple. Kirk Cousins is statistically a good QB, but I've not been sold on him even after this crazy year of winning all those one score games. With your analysis and insight, I can now see DTR fitting the vibe of Seattle well, where he can develop under Geno. I watched a few late night UCLA games and his durability stood out to me. Playing through injuries was inspiring! He definitely tried some Hero Ball when his team was down, but I think that could be fixed with good coaching and watching Geno. Love the videos dude! Have a great weekend!
At first I hated the Zay Flowers idea since the LB room could use someone in it. But it actually makes sense as Lockett is getting older and there’s no certainty DK stays in Seattle. Another Lockett type of receiver would be amazing for this offense. Team needs to bring Bobby back. I hope they actually fill an important hole in FA for once. Center is another massive hole that I hope they patch in this draft.
non edge LBs in the first round in recent years haven't shown to be worth it (outside of the team just having that guy on their board and even then). Also as good as Geno can be, the last thing a smart GM wants to do is NOT give him more help. After the Hill trade the Chiefs practically gave Mahomes a gang of WRs with varying skillsets he can use for different match ups. That isn't including their good enough TE talent rotation when they play more heavy formations where they can pass AND run from. Adding Flowers or another WR of that caliber with the guys they have now just strengthens what OC Shane Waldron can scheme up against various looks to keep defenses on their toes. And more targets for Geno to exploit weaknesses on defensive coverages.
Please do the bills. Why haven’t we gotten it done when we’ve been so close, and how can we get it done? Frazier leaving, poyer and Edmonds probably leaving. I’m stressing out over here.
If the Bills can prove to me they aren't going to be like Ron Rivera's Panthers (much of the staff including your HC is from that group) and continue to improve on the fringes with talent and play calling, then they will get an opportunity to break their limits. Otherwise McDermott is going the way and attitude of the guy he used to worked under.
New video with all the signings and releases we have made until now please… I just found ur channel and actually rlly liked the breakdown and analysis u did in this video
Walter Jones and Steve Largent would like a word with you about who is the best Seahawk ever. Russ is somewhere between QB 5-10 of his own era and Richard Sherman was the best player on those Super Bowl teams, no shot he is the best player in the entire franchises history. I love how the draft came together though, getting Abanikanda in the 4th seems like a good insurance policy at RB since they always seem to get hurt there.
I'm a big Anthony Richardson guy, but I'd be really happy with this. Got a bunch of talent, got needs filled. Not my biggest dream, but I'd be good with this.
It’s gonna be tough for them to break through next year as second best team in division and a road schedule including division, Dallas, NYG, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Detroit and Tennesee. On top of division, Philadelphia, Wash, Pitt, Carolina, Cleveland at home. They are definitely set up but it’s tough to declare an open championship window with aging Geno at qb and SF built to contend for years to come
Loved this video! Would be super stoked on this draft but I do think a few of your selections will end up going higher in the draft than this mock. Also I’m not as high on Tyree, I do think his floor is high but the ceiling makes me nervous if he doesn’t have the burst and bend to leverage his strength and power into speed.
Would like to know how you feel about possibly bringing back rashaad penny. He’s been really good when healthy but he just hasn’t been on the field enough
Dude, you are among the best in the business. I don't know what took me so long, but, as of today, the bell has been rung. I wish that actually counted for something (algorithmically speaking). Perhaps it does.
A minute and 37 seconds in I already know this video is gonna be a kollman classic, already predicting probably weeks ago that the Seahawks would make the controversial move of cutting Gabe Jackson
I really don't see a scenario where the Seahawks take Wilson, historically we LOVE to trade down. Right now we're trying to trick teams through the media by flirting with taking a QB. It's all a ruse to encourage teams hoping to get one of the top 4 QBs that they might not be around for them and that they need to trade up to get their guy. If any team trades with the Bears or Cards to get a QB we have Anderson or Carter fall to us and that's the goal of all this QB talk. If those two are gone we trade back to a team who want Levis or Richardson and see if we can still get a guy like Wilson a little later.

So I'll be passing attention to those names you mentioned and doing a little extra deep diving into them. Thank you for the video. Go Hawks!!!!
You’ve put so much effort into each of the teams so far, it’s great. I’m excited to see if you end up covering my squad, the Raiders.
Was pumped to see you on my favorite football show until I realized you were another victim of his blind petty rage 😂
Seattle is really displaying wizardry
I love this mock draft, it sounds exactly like what a Seahawks fan want
Amazing take. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Tennessee Titans.
Can we talk about what Duece Vaughn does at 14:30? Unreal pass pro rep for a man that's 5'5 180
Amazing content as always, thank you for expanding my knowledge every video Brett!
You don’t need to draft a linebacker at 20 there are plenty of good ones and most of them will go after that
non edge LBs in the first round in recent years haven't shown to be worth it (outside of the team just having that guy on their board and even then).
Finally the Geno video I’ve been waiting for
Loving the vibes of the video intro. Very fresh and fun.
Loved this, thanks!!!
Can’t wait to see how Brett handles our glaring need for center
Man ik the jets dont need it but itd be cool to see one of these for them
New video with all the signings and releases we have made until now please… I just found ur channel and actually rlly liked the breakdown and analysis u did in this video
Crazy because we would also get jalen Carter with that 5 pick
KEEEEEANUUUUUU LETS GOOOOO, its wild i have been in 3 classes with him lol, dude is super funny too
Geno Smith was the prime reason why I made it to the semifinal of my Yahoo Fantasy Football league after I benched...you guessed it...Russell Wilson.
As a seahawks fan ive been waiting on this one
Walter Jones and Steve Largent would like a word with you about who is the best Seahawk ever. Russ is somewhere between QB 5-10 of his own era and Richard Sherman was the best player on those Super Bowl teams, no shot he is the best player in the entire franchises history.
I love how the draft came together though, getting Abanikanda in the 4th seems like a good insurance policy at RB since they always seem to get hurt there.
It’s scary how much billy stephens and football analysis sound like Brett I’ve been watching their videos thinking they were you 🤣
I, as an Eagles fan, cannot have DTR being drafted by the Seahawks. I need that man to go to the Birds in the fourth round
howies gotta keep the factory going :)
I'm a big Anthony Richardson guy, but I'd be really happy with this. Got a bunch of talent, got needs filled. Not my biggest dream, but I'd be good with this.
Brett doing off-seasons for the whole top 10 is awesome. I just wish we'd gotten one for my Titans at 11 tho 😭
The way you spoke about ikenna screamed Detroit to me.
Very informative! A great education. 👍
Love the videos man! Ima keep liking them and watching them! Great content
Thoughts on what we’re doing with Jameis
A minute and 37 seconds in I already know this video is gonna be a kollman classic, already predicting probably weeks ago that the Seahawks would make the controversial move of cutting Gabe Jackson
Someone mentioned the fact that every time Tyler Lockett catches the ball he gives himself up and falls on the ground. Now I can’t not see it 😂
I really don't see a scenario where the Seahawks take Wilson, historically we LOVE to trade down.
Amazing episode
As a Seahawks fan I love this mock offseason, but as a UCLA student I’ve seen DTR make some ROUGH decisions in big games
