- Join me (Mike - Physiotherapist) in this seated warm-up routine for those who do seated exercises.
Before undertaking any exercise routine, it's important to ensure our bodies are adequately warmed-up.
By doing this we can get ourselves ready for the exercise, prevent any injuries and also get more out of the exercise we do.

I am so unfit not doing any exercises especially during this pandemic. These seated warmup exercises are just what I need. Thank you for helping us seniors to stay fit.
My pleasure Sandra! It is never too late to start - all the best!
I have 26 years, I have an autoinmune disease and been living with chronic pain for about 5 years. Somedays I'm not able to workout stand up. Your videos are a blessing. There's not many youtube videos of lower impact sitting on a chair and can make you feel like you did a great work. Thank you.
My pleasure! Glad the exercises have been helpful for you :)
Really like these exercise , I'm 71years and I can manage these very well, nice 🙂 👍 that you made these for the Senior population🎉🎉
Just spent the last hour enjoying a good workout, I am 66 and plan on continuing these workouts, thank you!
Wonderful to hear Mauria! Keep up the great effort! :)
Recovering from C19 and pneumonia, this warm up was a struggle. Thanks
Wonderful series. I use them daily and am a 80 year old American physician in great shape. They go well with my yoga and Pilates!
Thanks for sharing! Keep it up!
My 87 year old dad loves exercising with you!!! Thank you so much for making these videos available. I really can see his health improving!
Have recommended your programme to my golfing friends, many of whom are in the 80 years of age bracket, or close to.
This gentleman is AWESOME! I'm nearing 70, walk a good hour in the cooler evenings (not the best time but daytime is too damned hot for me), stretch as much as I can my legs, neck, back after years of sitting on ass doing little or nothing. So, More Life Health Seniors, thank you, man. You are AWESOME and so needed. Your message is very needed. Your work is very needed and you will reap the grandest reward in some other realm if not this one already.
You're more than welcome Bill. I appreciate that! It sounds like you are doing a great job with everything too. Keep it all up!
Hello Mike! I’m 69 and have been regularly doing your morning warm up and evening before bedtime. What a difference in how I feel. You’re AWESOME! Thank you so much!!!
Hi Mike I am doing your exercises every day my knees are much better and now I am doing whole body exercise as well thank you god bless you and all good luck Mike thank you again
I have to do these exercises every day if I do every day my knees are better if I stop for while then my knees hurt so I am continuing to do your video exercises every day thanks Mike god bless you and all
I am 63 and just recently faced up to the fact that I am in lousy shape. Really awful. There are hundreds of senior exercise vids on youtube, and yours are the best fit for me and my wife, who is a year younger and also in rough condition. We work with you daily, and both agree that your manner, attitude, voice, and energy are so very friendly and accepting; charming. Thank you for your work here on youtube. God bless you, sir.
Thank you for the lovely comment! :) You are both more than welcome. It is great to hear you and your wife are enjoying the exercises! Modern life makes it easy to get into lousy shape, but you've both taken the first step and there's plenty of time to get into good shape. :) Keep up the great work and have fun with it. Mike!
@@MoreLifeHealth yes, I agree!!! My osteo likes your exercise routines for seniors. Aussies always 'get it right' as far as I'm concerned.

If we have some pain while warming up, possibly after doing more housework than we should have, do we go on warming up and stretching? I'm asking because I have fibromyalgia issues.
Hi Mike - I've been looking for well done exercise routines for seniors and SO glad I found yours! Recently fully retired and extremely happy to be done with sitting in a chair, working on a computer much of my day and very much in need of getting in better shape, losing weight and MOVING!
I really like how you created segments of focused workouts that seem to be between 8 and 15-ish minutes long. I've created a couple playlists grouping them in, what seems to me, a reasonable order and have a goal of mixing them and joining you 3-4x a week.
In particular, I have knee "challenges" (translation arthritis!) and really appreciate the leg and knee exercises and the seated options. Thank you so very much, Mike, for creating these and making them readily available! And I totally agree with the person who commented on your good energy, friendly manner and encouragement throughout the routines. Thanks again and g'day!!! :~)
G'day Mur :) That is fantastic to hear! Thanks so much for your comment and keep working hard!
FIRST I START DOING YOUR NECK EXCERCISES BEC. OF NECK PAIN. AFTER JUST 3 DAYS OF DOING IT RELIGIOUSLY, I'M OK NOW. I'M DOING ALL YOUR EXCERCISE VIDEOS EVERYDAY,ONE AT A TIME, NO MORE NECK PAIN AND KNEE PAIN. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
You're more than welcome Merlidad! Keep it up!
I am happy to see workout videos for those of us over 60!! With an arthritic hip and degenerative disc disease in my back I NEED a easier video to follow.
Glad you find the workout videos helpful Donna! Keep up the great work! :)
Very good. I did his along with two other workouts so have "woken" both neck and shoulders, which I really needed. Thank you!
This was a great warm up! Very gentle on the joints but definitely got the heart rate up 👍
Thank you very much!
Started with a warm up. Thank you
Senior warm up❤
I was looking for info about improving flexibility for those 60+ and found your article "how to improve flexibility after 60", which led me here. I've noticed I've lost a LOT of flexibility and just feel generally "tight" the last 5 or so years. At 61, I want to see if I can improve my flexibility and get rid of a lot of my stiffness (especially when doing things like putting on my socks). I have high hopes for your routines and will report back in 3 months with an update. Thanks so much for your videos!
I couldn't agree more!
This is an excellent complete body workout. I have now got a daily workout plan in action. Will do this one Wednesday and Saturday and do lower or back exercises Monday and Thursday, with 9 holes of golf Tuesday and Fridays. I'm just testing this sequence out as doing any upper body exercises the days before golf seems to have an adverse effect on my golf (which isn't that good anyway), but acceptable for someone whose 84th birthday is approaching. Thanks so much Mike. I'm glad I found you.
You're welcome June. That sounds like a great plan! All the best, and happy early birthday!
Best excercises ever!😅
I appreciate the way you have us breathe!
I have done exercises in the past had complicated breathing patterns.
I find I am able to take deeper breaths now!💨
👍🤜🤛
Great to hear you find it helpful Marilynn! :)
Oh my gosh !!!! I love your stretching, I couldn't find you for a good 24 hours but thank God here you are. Thank you for being you. God bless
My pleasure Joy! Glad you love the stretches!

Thank you! I'm 66, started up with kettlebells, and adding stretches to my routine. These are great, I subscribed right away.
My pleasure Anthony! Keep it all up! :)
@@MoreLifeHealth I got sidelined with a shoulder injury in January and I'm finally getting back to working out. Started this workout a week ago, I feel good and I'm glad to be back at it. Thanks once again!
I'm only 50 but I'm recovering from cancer and I've also been in lockdown due to Covid. I've become out of shape in some areas but these warm up exercises in conjunction with your arm exercises seem to be ideal for me to get back into shape. It might also help with my shoulder impingement! Great stuff.
Thank you! Good luck with doing the exercises too! :)
The leg and knee exercises help me with my knee pains. Thanks mike.
My pleasure Lakshmi! Keep it all up! :)
Thank you
Thank you. 😃
You're welcome Julie! 😊

Hello Mike from Barcelona / Spain Excellent all your relaxed classes without forcing anything, I love it and they help me a lot for me flexibility and autonomy.I am very active at 64 years old and I am used to.
exercising Thanks 🌍🙏😘
I would appreciate subtitles in Spanish. Thank you.
Great work Inma! Happy to hear you are enjoying the exercises. Good to hear you're keeping active. And there will be Spanish subtitles eventually, so stay tuned 🙂Keep up the good work!
What a fabulous video. I am going to use it with my dad.
Good luck to you and your dad Lynne! Let me know how you go! :)
I find it sometime hard to look at the video and do them at the same time. I guess I will need to remember them, make them a habit when I awaken in the morning before showering and my morning coffee. thanks for the videos. Happy Father's day!
Thanks! Keep it all up and good luck with remembering the routine! :)
Just started using your videos to resolve some conditions caused from too much computer work and hunkering down for so long due to Covid-19. In three short days can tell the difference on stiffness in lower back and shoulders (just doing 3 videos so far and expanding one more each day or so). Thanks, Dave PS: Age 74
That's great Dave! Keep up the great work!
Amazing always feel better after my workout with you so easy but so affective thank you
My pleasure Michelle! Keep up the great work!
This is my first time trying this routine and it was excellent I'm looking forward to adding this to my daily routine to get strengthen and improve quality of my house excellent work out!!!😁
Fantastic work Shirley! All the best, and keep up the great effort!
I seem to have managed polymyalgia Rheumatica well since I got it last year in November. Am currently on only half a steroid, down from 15. I have unfortunately developed gout in my left. shoulder. In addition to diet changes, could you please recommend suitable exercises for me. My husband and I always start each day with your excellent warm-up exercises. I have managed to donate this morning. Best regards and many thanks, Janet Glendinning
Hi Mike, enjoy your exercises thank you.
Can you recommend exercises for patella alta which is causing much pain.
Thank you
Hi Mike, Thanks. I love all your exercises. Very recently, l have symptoms of vertigo and am on one week medication. I am avoiding looking down on the floor and slanting my head with a slight squat. The latter movement caused me to fall down. I am alright now. Please advise me on what exercises l should avoid. Could you please make a video specifically for seniors with or prone to vertigo. Thanks a million.
Buenos días 9:43am 73 start!!!
Warm ups are my favorite!
I had a stroke one year ago this is helpful. Left-side does not move much
@@maryannloffredo6173 God bless you as you continue to heal.
Kudos to you for not giving in.
Keep exercising as you're on your way!

Hi! Am doing your exercises faithfully! Question, do you know if it's bad to cross your legs? Heard other day it was bad for sciatica! Thanks in advance!!!!
I have very very low energy levels most days because of insomnia. I think that by the time I have done the warm up, I will be too tired to do any exercises. Any advice?
Start with the warm-up Colin. Leave it at that and stay consistent with it. Over time you can build on it.
@@MoreLifeHealth Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will do that.
Planning to ask my 83 year old parents to follow this stretch exercise.
Would you recommend to start off with 2-3 times a week?
Hey Melinda. Yes start with that for a few weeks. This is a gentle workout, so they can work up to doing it everyday. Then gradually build it up from there also!
SENIOR EXERCISE
I have completed both warm-up & 4 stretches daily which are now my routine going forward. I would like to know will I be able to do the leg stretch with time or continuing on will it cause severe back of upper muscle cramps, if so would taking magnesium in evenings be helpful for this issue?
Best to speak to your doctor about the Magnesium Anne Marie. As everything gets stronger and your body adapts to the exercises, you should see it helping with the cramps.
did this warm up b4 upper body exercise routine
Great to hear Debbi!
Done 73 buenas tardes ❤😂
do you have anywhere to look and see what calories are burned with your exercises?
These are brilliant for my mother, but we are finding all the movements are a little too fast for 80 somethings.
If you click the little gear icon on the lower right of the RUclips screen, there's a playback speed control. The sound will be distorted but you can play music over it.

Just take it slow it will come.........

I am having trouble sending my donation for some reason. I don't subscribe to youTube so perhaps that's the trouble. Could you send me either an email or mobile no so that I can send as before though Paypal. We both do your warm up each morning and never miss! Thank you.
