- Desi parents are good at lot of things. One thing they are definitely not is looking after their own health. Stand-up bit from my experience of dealing with my now ageing parents. This bit is fairly close to my heart, hope you like it.
If you are an ageing parent and watching this, just one request, be mindful of your own health as you age, that's the best gift/lesson you can give to your kids.

Light and healthy comedy. I am fortunate enough to have the blessings of my parents. They are in their mid-70s and yes, all ageing parents behave the same. May Almighty bless "The Parents".

I heard somewhere that the greatest gift that you can ever give to your kids is by being healthy always. So if you're a parent, stay healthy and go for regular checkups.
What u heard is true. My mom is 75, she has had some health issues but is doing fine with medication now. And what I want most in the world, ansolutely more than any thing whatsoever, is for her to be in good health so that she can enjoy her life.
@@radioactivedetective6876 Good to know your mom is doing fine. Our parents think that they'll be burden on kids if a doctor puts them on medications, so they never even tell their problems. But what they seem to forget is that, we as children only want them to see healthy forever no matter what.
The last part was seriously cute.. seeing your mom & dad smiling, dancing & living a happy life at this age was so heartwarming, absolutely best part of the video.. hoping a long healthy life for both your parents Abijit.😇

I think you and I have the same kind of parents. 😂 My mom has diabetes. She also talks for too long on her phone. She never liked sweets, but after diabetes she suddenly started craving sweets. My father also can't sleep at night because he sleeps during daytime. He takes too much stress about future. I have to wake up my parents early in the morning everyday, so they excercise. For them excercise means buying vegetables from the market or going from one room to another. 😂 Bro, I related with you so much. Only few good things are that both of them never liked junk food & they were never dependent on me. Also, I'm trying to teach them to use technology, basic healthcare, diet and exercise. So that they don't have to face various illnesses when they get old.

I have an ageing mummy who also falls in the independent group like your mom. I totally identify the fan cleaning incident. After her 2 cerebral attacks I have forbidden her to clean the fans and other furniture, and keep strict vigilence. So now she cleans the bathroom window sills when she goes to take her bath - coz we can't keep track of her in the bathroom.

Abhijit, my mom has got Parkinson's too. It was detected in the same way as your dad - her hands used to tremble. And it was in the middle of the pandemic. She has been taking medication for 2 years now, and tremors are in control - touch wood. She can go about most of her daily activities, only she's become much slower and has little balance problem while climbing stairs.
I am sure Uncle will be able to go about his normal life as well with medication. Doctors have informed me that parkinson's patients can remain fully active for decades with regular medication and exercise/physiotherapy. Best wishes, hopes and prayers.
