I'm not sure whats wrong with your Gheenoe. My SoloSkiff was down so I tagged along with my dad in his Gheenoe. We weigh close to 400 combined. The fiberglass hasn't been modified, but there is a bilge, lighting, and a trolling motor on it. Probably would be considered overloaded in the eyes of the USCG. We were in a bay/sound with a decent amount of boat traffic. At NO point was I worried about falling out or over. I stood on the front seat, and he stood on the rear seat while sightfishing for reds. A large fuel barge passed and we didn't need to sit for the wake. Coming from a fishing kayak, then a SoloSkiff, these things are way more stable. You can't compare it to a Carolina Skiff or Skimmer Skiff, but it's a completely different class of boat. I stood up the entire time to drive, in chop, with a 6hp on it. I hope anyone reading this isn't turned away by this video. I got a hull in very good condition on a trailer for a grand. My message to anyone doing the research, do it! Ill be posting videos in the fiture of my build process.
So ur scared to get a little wet? I have a 13 and it runs beautifully my dad has a super 16 and it also runs amazing it’s really nice to fish inshore just fished in 10 mph winds and it worked fine barely got wet it’s a simple boat that’s not 30 grand
As a gheenoe head. I tell people to get a classic at minimum. I’ve had a highsider, classic , 2 lt25s and the lt25 is the mac daddy. But it’s fishing specific
Its not a canoe. Its a Gheenoe and way more stable than a canoe. The gunnels are shaped that way to provide more stability. Its definitely not not a big water boat. Sorry youre disappointed. Its a perfect backwaters boat but sounds like you need something bigger.
Never heard of a Gheenoe 13-6. There never been any boat, canoe, or kayak ever made that according to any ONE person's opinion can do and be all things 100%. If you're considering buying a Gheenoe 13', do it and see if the shoe fits, many have - and many are darn glad they did.
Maybe you have a river hawk. there is no 13.6 model that I know of. The stern on your boat looks too narrow compared to a normal 13. I stand up when fishing in my 13 all the time. I take a piss off the side as well. No tipping what so ever. NASA engineer designed and built it. I use it exclusively on rivers and it works amazing on rivers.
Thanks for this man. I was really interested in one cause they look cool and are simple. Then I realized that they are some of the wettest boat experiences on the planet. Between this and seeing a few capsize videos I'm gonna look at a nice Jon boat.
he is reviewing the worst one get a classic or an lt10-25 they are really stable and way bigger I can have 3 people on my lt25 and its really stable I can pole on my poling platform which is like 4 ft in the air very well and I can sit on the rubrail and it won't really lean that much it is overall a very stable boat and it has all of the technology and features a 30k dollar flats boat has but for 15k

All very accurate observations. The LT 25 overcomes all of these grievances, but is almost 300 lbs no motor.

We fished these all over the hooch and Oconee rives in the 1980s. The Gheenoo history has North GA river fishing all over it, and it's perfect for it.
Ive owned and flipped several gheenoes. Theyre fun if youre handy and on a budget. You can really make them your own if you can do some fabrication.
I just got my '13' tagged/titled here in Arkansas- bought new in 2010- $1043.oo out the door. I looked up the price of a new one- $2675.oo + tax &?
Give us a review on the skiff
today i woke up and dreamt about skipper being oiled up

It’s a canoe, not sure what you were expecting. Everything you said is true about canoes. You either love them or hate them.
It's not a canoe. It's a Gheenoe.

No they are not the wettest, and any boat can capsize if you take it beyond its design limitations.
Very specific application vessel. Problem is not the Gheenoe, problem is that ppl get them thinking it will be a bay boat or something
