  • I was changing transmission fluid today and thought I'd show you how to do this in and a good visual of where to find the drain and fill plugs, kept it short and sweet.

Do you take off the fill plug first and then the drain plug? Other ppl in comments on this are saying don’t do the drain plug first and then the fill plug. Well yeah lol

The only reason would be so that there's air flowing in from top and make it come out faster. It doesn't really matter, but sure it might be more efficient

It is just in case you can’t get the fill plug open. If you do drain plug first and then can’t open fill plug you’re pretty screwed. And it helps to drain faster.

I went to the Honda dealer and told them my year civic and they gave me Honda Manual Transmission Fluid appropriate for my year car. It was actually cheaper than most fluids from O Reilly or Autozone.

O'Reilly 10 dollars this morning plus they did tell me an easier way to add transmission fluid on the c on disconnect the speed sensor at the top of the tranny and Ed oil from there oil from there no hoses no funnels not nothing but remember to have the top hole open on the side of the tranny never second guess how much oil you put in

The Owners Manual says use Honda manual transmission fluid from a Honda Dealership. If for some reason, it’s an emergency and you have to add fluid, you can use the another brand gear oil. But you should change it back to Honda manual transmission fluid when possible. It contains more special additives that keeps the transmission clean and happy (or something).
Fun fact, Honda sells only 1 Manual Transmission Fluid type. For Automatic Transmission Fluid they sell about 10 different types.
