    How Do You Change Manual Transmission Fluid for Honda Accord? This is a Honda Accord 2004, manual transmission.
    First the manual transmission does not have the dipstick for you to pour the fluid in.
    Secondly, you need to find the fill bolt and drain plug.
    Third, the car need to be on flat surface while you are filling the fluid.

    NEVER, NEVER work under a vehicle with just a jack as support.......unless you want to DIE!!
    Car ramps would have been MUCH safer!
    ALWAYS undo the FILL plug FIRST......if you undo the drain plug and drain the fluid but you cant undo the FILL plug you're in trouble!

      if it is dirty you need to change and see if it helps. It may or may not solve your problem though.

    Thank you man, I have a 2003 honda accord five speed that I have been trying to find the drain plug for, also quick note for people watching this if you can't find honda MTF which is hard to come by, you can use GM synchromesh MTF in these aswell

    ever do the clutch fluid?

    • @GeniusAsian
      @GeniusAsian  10 лет назад

      You can't have fluid for the clutch because the material on the clutch plate is similar to the brake pads, and friction is necessary to transfer the rotating energy through the transmission to the drive system.

      The clutch is hydraulically operated by the clutch fluid just as the brakes are hydraulically operated by the brake fluid, you use DOT4 brake fluid in the hydraulic system for the clutch.

      The clutch fluid should be changed when you change the brake fluid, every 2-3 years regardless of mileage. You can vacuum the clutch fluid out of the bleeder on the slave cylinder, which is right in the front of the transmission on the 2.4L, and can be easily accessed from under the hood or under the car. You will need to pull several reservoirs of fresh fluid through the system, as the clutch master cylinder reservoir is much smaller than the brake master cylinder reservoir.
