Been a long time coming to get back in the kayak after a rough winter and spring. Went after the crappie spawn bite in Minnesota using slip bobbers. These spawning crappies were pretty fat and let the biggest ones go up to 14" + and kept a 6 pack for supper. Ice is slowly coming off the big lakes but the crappie spawn is in full swing!
Set up used was an ultra light St Croix Rod with 6lb Fluoro (use mono that floats for a slip bobber). A simple Thill slip bobber, bobber stops, a tungsten 1/16 oz ice jig with a 13 Fishing Jeffrey soft plastic.

Thanks, Matt's such a fun guy to fish with... And I don't have to worry about him wanting to quit early 😅

Came to your channel from Matt's channel. Your doing good. Enjoying it so far. Keep it low key like Matt, to me that's why i watch. Don't care for all the screaming hype.

Thank you a ton - I've become a little more restrained fishing with Matt over the years lol

looked like your rod guides were not aligned or was it just the camera angle?

I like to let the big ones go. 13" plus is pretty big for our area.. just my personal preference
