Thank you for posting this video. This is EXACTLY what 90% of my fishing outings are like..... search search search search.... and not find anything! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that doesn't find them easily. Most videos look like they pull up to a stump and find a limit on the first one.
I really try to be transparent on days like this. A lot don't want to show the bad days but this is the reality of it. Especially me being a guide, this is the time of year most want to go but it is the worst time of year for me for consistency. April will get more consistent
That’s why it’s called fishing brother and not catching…. Unless you live on or in the water 90% of everyone’s trips will be that way( 90 might be high but I get the point)…. I completely agree though… even the fishing shows I watched growing up weren’t honest. They would cut tape and show 22 minutes of Bill Dance with a bent rod or lipping a bass that he kissed and threw back, it is refreshing for an informative fisherman that shows the way it really is
go back around march 10th or later and they will likely be there. water temp isnt the deciding factor. its hours of daylight.. when the hours of daylight become equal to or slightly more than darkness, the crappie recieve a biological trigger.. sunlight is whats important for eggs to develop.not water temp.. crappie spawn on almost frozen lakes in canada every year... . this is written in thier DNA.. Your dedication is appreciated! Thanks for posting the days when you do not get on them cuz it's tough this time of the year. I spend more time out on the main lake scouting new areas and marking places to fish in April/May. Thanks for the candor bro!
I grew up fishing the spawn but it was a love/hate way of fishing for me. Now days I just Bass fish until the Crappie move away from the banks. I have had waaaay to many days like you just had trying to catch spawners. It sure is fun when you can find them though.
Thanks for keeping it real bro. I can definitely relate with you. People are naive to think they will go out and catch 25 crappie in 1 hour every time .
small tip. whenever you fishing a creek like that too where the water is low even in the middle, fish creek ledges and those isolated trees sticking straight up an down that extend out from the bank. I had that problem 2 days ago for about an hour straight, they where staging towards the middle feeding until the sun started to set
They push out from the creeks during cold fronts thats why they didnt bite good. Gotta hit them deep Main Lake bridges with at least 30-40 feet of water they'll stack up nice there while feeding on shad.
Yep, that's reality. I've seen it lot of times. That was some good looking cover, and i would bet they will be all over it when the conditions are right!
Bruh why you getting frustrated catching biggens on Ultralight, who cares if it's not a Crappie, you are fishing after all I always get hyped when I land a nice Largie or Flathead on my Ultralight, even more fun on a light setup!!
First time I found them on fallen timber was by complete accident lol ! I was in a spring bass tournament and using a 4” slider worm on a brewer jighead when I pitched it into a log and bang a 14” white crappie grabbed it! Pitched it in again same damn thing ! A giant crappie! Came back the next day and caught 12 that were giants and great eaters! I call em pie plates!

Sir, you are absolutely correct. Length of day is the trigger for crappie spawn.

Quite the interesting comment! Appreciate the insight!!

You couldn’t word that better, I’m a big time crappie fisherman and that’s exactly how I think… sunlight is a factor

I appreciate the video and info homie! It’s not always about catching them it’s about living life and enjoying God’s Creations!
Makes me feel better about my trip last weekend. Targeting crappie in the creeks with 2” BG baby shad and instead I caught 2 catfish and a drum 😂
Nothing is better than when you do hit it right 👍🏻 I’ve been in your “boat” before many times 😂
Good post brother. So often they're easy to catch, yet just as often, hard to locate. Reality fishing remains fishing, it ain't always catching!!!🎣

Don't feel bad, that is how most of my trips go. Next time is always better.
Reality tv! Making me feel better about my fishing!
40° with wind gust up to 25mph here in N. Dallas I'll hit the creek Sunday night under the lights and minnows

Thanks for the adventure, it's not just me not catching early.
That just convinced me to go catfishing Saturday. I know its getting close for them to spawn but maybe another week or so. I will try.
Bit early for north Texas spawning. Mid March and and through April at least for last 30 yrs. For me..
This was down in central Texas. I was surprised a few weren’t up at least looking around
I appreciate your efforts
Sometimes you don’t catch anything. Good video. Good for learning. Thank you man. I gotta get off the couch and go
Thanks for the update. After this cold snap it will get em going
I spent 2 full days on lake Palestine crappie fishing the shallows and zero crappie, 3 catfish, and 3 bass.
One thing you're doing wrong is making too much no Noise😊
I came here to say the same thing. Homie is a clunk fest on the water.
I get bad vibes early morning & evening too.
Whats that about u think?
I think it is a sign that the fish aren’t committed to the spawn during that time IMO
Yep, that's reality. I've seen it lot of times. That was some good looking cover, and i would bet they will be all over it when the conditions are right!
What kind of pole is that?
At least we were on the water 🎣🎣
Bro your real af
When you start seeing snakes crappie bite is on
What state are you in
Nice video
Your just early. I have no doubt spawning crappie will flood that creek. Give it a couple more weeks and it should be on.
Change colors. Blue and white might start a fight
Wow🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💚
There was a lot of places they should have been there

Too much noise my brother!
Can’t get much quieter than a yak lol
Bullshit that yak is big drum you banging that paddle around @@KidKrappie
