Today it's about olives - How to buy olives in the store? How do you serve them and which one is the best olive. Plus, I need to share with you why this is so important to your health today. And if you're not into olives, we need to be, I'm not a person who is fond of olives all the time. But after doing some research, I need to have these in my diet every day.
    Health Benefits Of Olives
There are three main reasons why I want you to add olives into your diet.
    1. Olives is healthy for your brain.
Number one is because of the high fat content and fat in the olives is a very specific fat that is so healthy for your brain and your skin. It also is very healthy for your heart. And so we need our brain to have the healthiest fats possible so that we can continue to think well be able to manage life and to enjoy life. So we need to protect our brain and olives are going to do that for you.
    2. Olives promote gut health
Now if you need to just go ahead and choose a high quality olive oil and use that instead. Speaking of olive oil, this is where it helps protect the gut. And I was meeting with someone today and she teaches people around the world about healthy living. And she says when with her gut, if she's in a restaurant that just doesn't have good food, she will reach for the olive oil and drizzle on her food. And therefore she never has stomach upset from the food. This is because olive oil helps to protect the lining of your gut and prevent anything toxic from getting absorbed through the membranes of your of your gut. And so it also is going to nourish the microbiome.
    3. Olives keep your heart healthy.
It's also healthy for your heart. There's vitamins in here. But there's oils in here that your heart needs to just have a strong pump to it, a strong pulse to it. And so that it can keep functioning even when you're under stress, or when you're under any type of toxic environment that can interfere with the beating of your heart.
    How to Buy Olives
Now most olives are grown in Greece, but yet we have them from California as well. The most popular one that you're going to find in the store that most people navigate to is going to be the canned Kalamata olive. So it's more of your blackish bluish color, sometimes blackish brownish color. It's just what most restaurants use. If you choose this, be sure and rinse it well, like I said, and then once it is rinse always store in refrigerator. You can keep it in the brine and just take out what you want to need, what you're going to use in your recipe. Or you can just go ahead and rinse it and use the entire can, tossing this with some spaghetti noodles and fettuccine and some feta cheese, and maybe some goat cheese, you would have the most scrumptious meal possible.

Rachel here. I love olive oil & olives!!! I could eat them every meal. I never knew that I could drizzle olive oil on not such good restaurant food. I will be trying this in the future, if I have to eat not so good restaurant food. Trying my best to eat organic as much as possible & Mediterranean food, too!

The way you can tell if it's fake or real olive oil is by seeing the back of the bottle if it's single origin that's what you want.
