The vast majority are, and even those that aren't still take away the calves and send spent cows to slaughter. Some are less bad than others, but why support any amount of cruelty for a product that isn't even good for humans?
Dared Perhaps so, and I don 't know exactly where you live, but the scenes depicted in this video are spot-on for the vast, vast majority of the meat you find in an average grocery store or restaurant.
I live on a farm and are cow have at least 3,000 acres of land and are not abused they are and will always be treated with respect and love. If you don’t like my comment please don’t reply. By the way some of you are arguing with an eleven year.
Regardless of the nature of their lives before slaughter, farmed animals get sent to slaughter. There is a misconception that animals get to "live out their lives" and then get killed. Animals get killed as soon as their purpose is served, or as soon as they reach a profitable size, which is at a fraction of their potential lifespan. The very definition of grass-fed/organic/free-range animals is actually very loose and can vary wildly. It doesn't mean that the animals have any kind of quality of life necessarily, it just means the farm has to meet some arbitrary requirements to earn that title. That's not to say that every single farmer treats their animals dreadfully while they live - some actually do give their animals a fair standard of life before slaughtering them. Once a mother's milk production is less proftable, she’s slaughtered. That generally happens after two milking cycles, when she would be around six years old. The average lifespan of a cow is about twenty years.
We don’t put are cows in little cages the run around and play we keep all of are cow the are milked once every 3 mouths for 30 minuets each way gives them all for there calf’s with stay with them and they get pregnet on there own so there you u go 🙄
Good farmers like this don’t do this like me and my dad Edit: you can say what you want, but there are other types of farms. Not all farms are factory farms.
@@keeleymccullagh9905 if u were treated like the animals would u not think thats cruel? @@Worldofvegan thank you so much for the support!! that means so much to me. my little brother and i have been making vegan recipes since we’ve watched your video. we love it so far!!!
Its not always.I own my own dairy farm. They have large paddocks to roam about with fresh green grass and gorgeous dams.We let our cows give birth in peace. After about 1 or 2 weeks off them on mother's milk they get hand fed ( still with there mum's for about 3/4/5 months. They get food every day and pain killers for the tagging. We don't hurt our cows. They live freely. At night we herd them into a nice warm barn with spacious pens one for each cow.We sell our males to other farms that hopefully won't kill and just want em as pets ( hopefully u can never be sure ).
Ok geez As a farmer, this is an extreme case. While yes, I’m some cases this does happen, this is only extremes. Calves are taken away from there mothers toward the later stage, not right away. And this happens to assure the cows don’t get milk fever, something that can happened there is left over milk. Calves then are put in little pens like you saw, but not permanently. Think of them as like your room, or a dogs kennel. Calves are let out during the day to roam, graze, and do other things, but they have a play to call there own, to feel safe if they ever need some time off, and a place to put them at the end of the day. These so called “Rape Racks” are used in extreme cases sadly, but they are usually used when milking a cow so the cow doesn’t get spooked and hurt itself or the human. Heifers usually aren’t hooked up to be raped?? Sadly, I’m not ignorant enough to say this never happens, and in those cases this is obviously horrible, but the video is acting like this is every case! And the whole steer thing is just so wrong. I know for one, our steers lived in an open pasture where we cared for them and played with them. We hand feed them for months until they were able to eat on there own, which also included whatever grass they wanted to eat. Again, I know this isn’t every situation, but the steer is not usually tortured like you suggested! And that video with the cow with the welt was sickening, but again, extreme cases. That’s like saying all dog shelters are puppy mills. While I understand there are big industry’s who do this, please don’t label every farm as monsters, because that is not the case. After dairy cows can produce anymore, most are left to graze and live out there lives. Please don’t believe that every farmer is a monster!
My grandpa is the nicest farmer ever. He lets his males have their own large pin and every year, he releases them into the much bigger female pin because we have so many, and he lets them have 2 months to decide and get the females pregnant. When the babies are born, the stay with their mom until they are older and care for themselves. When the males are old enough, some stay with the other males and some are sold off for meat. People will say that that's cruel, but just think. We don't put our cows through pain, we give them a whole year to run and play and grow. Our females are also sold off for breeding purposes but they are not forced and my grandpa makes sure of that. We do the same for our goats except we sell them for money purposes.
Dear Star IS LIT, I hope you will read this with an open mind. For I share this out of love and justice for the animals. We still use animals as if they are products and they deserve their own lives. It's so wrong that we enslave them. And the female cow is still impregnant without her consent (in the human context we would call this rape :( ). And even if mom and calf are longer together they still get seperated which is really traumatizing and heartbreaking for both. It is even more heartbreaking that it happens over and over again. And in the end they get send to slaughter. It's never humane to kill someone who doesn't want to die. Would love to share this video with you, it is really eye opening ruclips.net/video/FvppRx41YDU/видео.html
The nicest farmers slaughter their cows and their male babies as well. Nothing nice about that. Please think about this. And read some more about this topic. It cannot be sufficiently captured in a 6 minute animation.
Hey peta, remember when you took pets away from loving homes and killed all of them saying it's for their own good? Or when you threw over 100 lobsters into the wrong kind of water, ultimately killing all of them? Or the fact that you attacked Irwins son for simply letting hosts give some animals small pets when he's a professional and the animals were completely fine with it?
these 'draw my lives' are ridiculous and so peta. having compassion for animals doesn't mean treating them like humans. this is the kind of nonsense that actually hurts their cause and makes people with legitimate concerns look like bleeding heart, ignorant townies.
@@mamamiabenjamia agreed, because they are not humans, they don't treat each other right by our standards, of course put here are exceptions like the wombat but still

@@lotteoosthuyse4251This is a child friendly educational representation of the reality on dairy farms. You can watch any footage from dairy farms and see these things in real time, or go to one yourself and make sure you ask the “farmers” what they do with the male babies and females once they are “spent”
@@Letthembelightpeaceonelove you have never been in a farm, I can see that. I live on a farm and am currently studying to become a veterinarian. I loooove animals, and yes they die, but do not have such a dramatic life, it’s better for the FARMER and the COW to live in a good and healthy condition, a good cow is good (and more) milk, a cow in stress does not give milk, and for the farmer it’s easier to have relaxed safe cows. and they are not spend, so dramatic, btw the bulls go to an other farm where they grow older than in the wild, so shut up
My grandad works on a farm that treats animals like royalty. My great grandad used to do this until my grandad took it away. They mainly get vegetables bought but are working on stopping the meat thing. edit: i am proud to say that three weeks ago, all ties with the meat trade have been cut. All cows living on the farm will live in peace and will not be sent to slaughter. They all live on a large field covered in grass where they will live the rest of their days without any of them being taken for produce.
@Tia Fenton aww that is so sweet for your grandma :) you know if you make them feel like home they also do the same thing for your grandma so god bless her soul
When im an adult, am going to have this HUGE spot of land to take in animals of all kinds that are suffering. This means cows are now added to the list...dont worry. In about 10-15 years i will be doing my part in saving miserable animals and really take care of them, not confine them, however i most likely can not become vegan.
I agree with ya, I won’t become vegan for meat is actually healthy in some ways. It gives us energy and nutritions, feeds us, etc. I just want to end suffering in animals!!! Their just like us, I mean, they have the same red blood, can’t people just feel some love for these poor creatures!! 🥺🥺😢😭
Not all dairy farms are like this, there are humane ones out there. This is just one of the more aggressive batches. I've personally experience farm life from time to time from cousins and an other side of my family that runs a small milking farm just for themselves because they love the farm life. To those horrible milk farms I say shut em down, but not all of them should be judged by their cover.
Zerrek please stop. The absolute majority (im talking 90%) of cows in the western dairy industry are trapped in mega farms, where they suffer the exact thing that happens here. Cows that produce bio cheese/milk have exactly the same life, with the exception that they get to see a bit of sunlight. But they still get raped, still het their babies stolen, still become pro athelete grade milk machines. Still become products, machines. So please stop..please stop giving a hand to these industries just because 1 in a million cows could maybr be treated okay. Just stop defending the monsters :(.
I am an omnivore. I am proud to be free, to have the freedom to eat what I want. But still, I respect those who are vegans. They are vegans? Good for them. It is also healthy to be vegan. But I prefer to enjoy my life, for it is short. (No more than 85 years, and if I am lucky enough, no more than 100). If there was a way to choose between buying meat from abused animals and buying meat from animals farmed in large clean and beautiful places that lived a nice life, I would choose the second kind of meat. I think we need to stop abusing animals in nowadays intensive farms, still we can't stop eating and producing meat. Just my point of view, I hope I didn't offend anybody and have a great day :D
I agree! I wouldn't want to stop eating what I love most just because a vegan said so. I respect vegans, but they basically call us animal murderers so :/ Please don't attack me okay I have an older cousin who's vegan and she's chill
p. f. THANK YOU! I did my own comment on this and finally I find someone who agrees! We shouldn’t be vegan because vegans tell us too. I respect you, good for you you’re vegan, but don’t call us animal murderers, and boy I can NOT live without shrimp.
As a dairy farmer, the calves aren’t taken when they are first birthed. When they are old enough to stop drinking milk we can separate them, as they don’t need their mother anymore. Any normal dairy farm don’t keep their calves locked up, we keep them in a large paddock with lots of space to run. When we stick our hand up their Yk.. it’s called cow painting. We do it to see how far along pregnant cows are. This is NOT rape. When their is a baby boy, we don’t kill him. They aren’t that useful so we either keep them for breeding (no over breeding,) or sell them to a farm to keep as a pasture pet. We have many cows, so there’s no need to over breed one cow over and over. Like I said, we also have many cows so we don’t need to over milk them. There’s enough milk for a baby and enough milk for humans in one cow. I’m not trying to defend terrible dairy farms, but there are more good dairy farmers than you may think. I’m so sick of everybody listening to non-farmers about this kind of thing. They have absolutely no right to talk about it.
There's no fundamental difference between 'good' and 'bad' dairy farms. By their very nature, they all reduce sentient beings to mere commodities. Indeed, the dairy industry perverts and commodifies motherhood itself. They all exploit. None of it is consensual. It's fundamentally unjust. My experience is that people working in the industry fool themselves about the nature of what they do to these creatures before they fool anyone else. There's nothing nice about what you're doing to these individuals. You're just pretending to be nice 'about' it.
I completely agree! There aren't that many factories that are harmful like that and most likely the cow won't be suffering! Thank you for being kind to your animals:))

Oh, I've seen cow farms. None of them were like this, I saw cows in huge pens with their calves next to them. Of course, they were taken away occasionally for twice a day milking, but the milking things were disinfected before each milking and the calves were supervised. They weren't allowed to drink much of their mother's milk, sure, but they were given plenty of food. (I know all this extra inside stuff because I've been to cow farms.)
Smoretown same, there is a bunch of cow farms and they have a huge meadows and they milk them naturally (with the farmers fingers) the cows are fed and watered daily, and they get to keep their calves. Of course they're limited from the woods. (Bears, foxes, etc.) But the cows are happy
Like she said though, industries that support or do horrible things like what was shown, not all farms are well kept or really taken care of as they should be.
Being fenced in doesnt equal free. The farms u see like that r not where alot of meat comes from. Plus u probably went to a better farm and they were probably on their best behavior when u came. When no ones looking abuse often happens. Most meat probably comes from factory farms. Watch earthlings the movie it's free on youtube.
B vegan Now Actually, the place where I live benefits off of mainly farming and fishing. That is our main base of economy. My parents are fishermen. And most farms I see over here are actually not very cruel to their animals! You can see the animals walk around freely, in a wide open field (only fenced in when the property ends, but there is SO much land.) I do believe the animals are allowed to keep their children, but the farmers do sometimes milk cows (without taking their children away, and by hand), but I really don’t consider that a particularly bad thing because milk is very healthy. Believe it or not, not all farms are cruel. Not all farms are like the one displayed in this video.
@@thedeadnacho1611 youre right not all farms are like that! But the one the comment refered probably was 😔 Sometimes when farms have visitors the leave all the animals look happy and everything and when the visitors go away the lock them in cages and continue their like it was a normal day But not *all* of them are like that

Honestly, you clearly aren't a vet, because if you were then you would know that if cows aren't milked, they develop a disease called mistitus that can be fatal if not treated immediately. This video is incredibly wrong.
Kali Chesire that is true BUT if you give the milk to the calf as nature intended there should be no worry. I grew up on a beef farm and we were always worried that TOO much milk would be taken. At one point we had two calfs at once and considering udder milk is made from the food that the mom eats, and considering (we didn't know until it was too late) that both cows were drinking from one of the cows, the mom got too weak and ended up dying because she wasn't able to get any nutrients for her self. We ended up giving the calf to a friend and the other calf still had his mother. Basically, Mother Nature will make sure the cow doesn't get a disease. And no, the video is not wrong, this is the true reality of factory farming look up "cow abuse factory farm mercy for animals"
So, what you're saying is that you abused the mother? Because she should have been fed silage or freshly cut grass so that she could produce milk for the calves. Look, I'm sure that there are farms out there that abuse their animals but what this is saying is that not all cows are treated like this. Saying that this is the life of a diary cow implies that this is the way all cows are treated, which is false.
Kali Chesire no, we had no idea that both babies were drinking from that one mother. And when we found out, it was too late to help her and she died. Moving on, it is true that not all cows live this life, but this life is the life for a majority of cows in countries that RUclips commenters most likely live in. In America for example 97% of laying hens, 99% of turkeys, 95% of pigs and 78% of cattle are in factory farms. Nearly 4/5 of cattle are in factory farms! And if I recall correctly, the video was about this one cows life, but the point was to expose the life of cows in factory farms. But, it isn't like this cow's life is the reality for two percent on the population.
The milk I buy comes from a local farm that you can actually visit. They let you play with the cows and their young. They are treated perfectly. The cows are healthy and happy :)
Bowie omg exactly like most farms are like that and I'm in the country where there is lots of farms and none of them are like this wow they exaggerated sm
I also hope that people will see this video and think twice about buying milk or cow's meat. They suffer so much and many people don't realize it. Let's spread the word (and this video) and help to end their suffering.
@@Worldofvegan,I live right next to a dairy farm (and I live on a farm but not with dairy) and they are really good people and treat their cows well (and a bonus, we give them high fiber treats!)

I don’t like to drink milk from cartons. I’ll only have milk if it’s in dairy products. I hope one day they find a good alternative to this cruelty, and the big industries are stopped.
This is an incredibly generalized video. It's tragic when these things do happen, but there are so, so many farms where things are very different. May I ask how you know the thoughts going through the cows' heads? Cows and animals are NOT people. Please look up Temple Grandin if you want to have any idea whatsoever of what a cow could think/feel. And I don't know if you can exactly "rape" cows, because when they're in heat, they go nuts and WANT t6o be bred! Our heifer would jump 5-foot fences to go find a bull, and only stopped when she was bred. We have friends with hundreds of cattle, and some of those "loving mothers" try and stomp their calves, shove them into fences, or outright abandon them (many human mothers are the same). I myself have an Angus heifer I bought from our friends and bottle-fed with the milk replacer because her mother abandoned her. The veal industry is really messed up and creepy though. (btw, a "child" cow is called a calf). Cows only live for 18-22 years. Not 25-30. And as other people in the comments have already pointed out, cows are in pain when they're NOT milked, and that is when they usually get mastitis. And why the heck would "the men" (all dairy people, I'm assuming they mean, men AND women, because saying that JUST MEN can be dairy farmers is sexist) laugh and joke about slaughtering cattle?
Your right, these things do happen but these days it's getting so much better. Most dairy and meat cows live a decent life, my grand father has a beef farm and they are such well treated animals.
no one cares if you think it isjt important. are you jst gonna be an arse and say no one cares? what if your family member died and someone sayss "that doesnt matter, no one cares"
Sarah Niesyty EXcuSe Me WhAT!?!? THESE COWS ARE TAKEN AWAY FROM THEIR CHILDREN AND KILLED!!! THAT IS SUCH AN AWFUL WAY TO DIE OFCOURSE SHE FEELS SORRY!!!
This information is so far from the truth from most dairy farms, on my neighbor's farm he let the calves play and run in a big place and the cows can go out and in from the barn every day for 7-9 months before it is getting cold outside and on my farm, the cows are out in a big open field every day for 8-9 months and only taken in for the night. and the calf gets its mother's milk just like we humans do because milk replacement costs way more than the calf could earn us for his/hers life since calves drink lots of lots of milk and still the cows produce way more than the calf can drink. so don't say all farmers are bad and murder when it is only a few bad farmers just like in any other job, there is always someone who is bad and u vegans take all farmers in one bucket no matter if they are bad or good. If u ask a farmer if he loves his animals he would say yeah and we treat them the best way we can
Exactly!!!! Most farms are keeping cows as comfortable as possible! Yes there are bad farma but theres always bad people no matter what farm or community you're in!! -sorry for seeing this 5 months later lol
It’s definitely not “a few bad farmers” that are bad, it’s nearly all. This video probably describes the practices in basically all large industrial dairy farms for sure…Just think about it logically, as the video mentions, in order for a cow to produce milk it must be pregnant. Therefore, the cow has to be artificially inseminated, which is rape. The entire premise is cruel.
@@SuperPeacepromoter so u say that we that has grown up whit cows and other farm animals dont know whats going on in our barn? In our fields? U are most likely a city guy that dont know whats going on the farms. Me and all my other friends that are from farms knows what we do is right because we care about our animals health. And to get them pregnant isint rape because we wait till them are in heat then we incemenate them WHEN THEY WANTED TO, so we just do like the nature would do
Giving respect to cows is certainly good, but in practice, it is the same process at work. So, even at the small farms (which is dominant in India) it is the same artificial insemination process, denial of bulk of the dairy milk to the calf (which is tied close to the cow, but not where it can suckle), males are considered value-less and are abandoned or sold off, etc. What is really different? And there has been a steady rise in larger commercial grade farms which are similar to those in the economically advanced world!
in india they give respect to only cows , not buffalos. People still pay for dairy thinking that cows arent exploited there and are happy. But all cows are either sent to slaughter or few left on roads to die. After years of impregnating and stealing their baby, Their bodies give up . India is the top beef exporter because people pay for dairy
@Aditya...That 'respect' is only lip-service, something we believe without questioning because it's always hyped that way and we've been 'indoctrinated' so. The rape of the cow, removing the calf soon after birth (the calf's further fate depends upon its gender) and her slaughter when the milk-produce dwindles several rapes later all happen very much in India too. Largest producer of milk as well as biggest exporter of beef -- don't you see the connection, friend?
I just went to a farm called "Healthy Way Dairy" and they are not like that, AT ALL! Before leaving I saw a mom cow and her grown adult daughter cow rubbing faces and playing, it was just so, flat out awesome. God bless cows. And, I pray everyday that calves stop getting separated from their moms. They bond life-long like us humans. (But not all of them do.) But... other than this,... I am at least going to say this. The death and the abuse do not matter, no matter how much of it there is... They are still mother-daughter, mother-son. Cows still love their babies and always will. Satan cannot change that or take that away. And, I for one will always be against animal abuse of all forms.... And I will by all means no matter what always be willing to slay it dead and also prevent it from ever happening in the first place...
@Toby Perris The definition of words change all the time. Milk has gone from being it’s original definition too a white nutrient rich drink due to more people choosing/not being able to drink dairy milk. You can still drink dairy milk while others drink non dairy milk. Stop letting yourself get hung up on technicality’s.
Fun fact my dad used to cart goats but unlike you would expect the animals actually aren’t held in tiny containers in a factory farm they are just bred then taken best thing is mother’s stay and-their babies get conceived by goats not a human with artificial liquids. I used to drive with him a lot I don’t eat goat it doesn’t taste nice, I got scared once because dad threw a dead goat into a bin that the dead ones go in and the nerves in his body kicked the bin and little me was terrified I thought it was alive and shouted “hey, this one is still alive” But I was like 4-9 he had that job for a while . Now he has a different job he works carting sheep (for sheering not for meats).
I live on god damn farm none of this happens except the artificial breeding but it’s painless it’s a simple injection and the calf’s are allowed to see there mothers whenever they like.why???because there always with them and milking is painless if this is what happens in America than I’m sorry but here in Ireland cows live a lovely life
My mom told me that calfs are taken from they're moms, and the moms moo repeatedly, wanting the young back. I hate those people who take calfs away from they're moms. Stop that and animal/child abuse. The world needs peace.
does your mum have actual dairy experience, or has she just watched a few videos?

Anyone who lives near cow fields knows this. I hear them calling out for their children all night long. It keeps me up at night as it is a very sad call. When you drink milk, keep in mind that this milk was meant for a child, but that child was taken away from it's mother just so that you could drink this milk. This is the cold reality of dairy farming. The cows may live in great fields of grass, but they do not live long, as every year they are artificially inseminated, and use their nutrients throughout pregnancy to give birth to a calf, which is then taken from them, yet they are milked just the same. The same thing happens the next year, and the next, and the next. The cow is normally crippled after 4 or 5 years, and is killed in a slaughterhouse. A cow should live for 20 years.
I am never eating hamburgers ever again after watching this not drinking milk no more I feel sad now I wish the cows that they were just will just leave them alone you know I wish they would have a free life😥😢🥺☹️
We don’t abuse or hurt animals they roam there pastures and have open access to the barn and can go in and out whenever, please do not tell farmers to stop doing something they are not doing
Fucken liar. You need milk and meat for the nutrition you need and if you dont you could develop something bad like disease. We need this and we slaughter cows for many years.
Benjamin Guedea if we needed milk, how did humans survive until we started milking cows and other animals? We need cow’s milk just as much as we need dog milk, rhino milk, or dolphin milk. We don’t need meat. We do need plants for our carbohydrates, fiber, and Vitamin C, and Plants also make protein. And if you’re about to mention b12. B12 is made by bacteria in soil. It’s not made by animals or plants. The early humans got b12 from drinking water from rivers and lakes, but since our soils are so depleted of nutrition nowadays, even animals are given b12 supplements before being slaughtered. The cleanest, safest, and easiest way to get b12 nowadays is supplements, wether you eat animal foods or not. If you’re gonna mention iron, Iron comes from legumes and leafy greens. Now time for you to throw some anti-vegan argument at me, so I can debunk it. Bring it on!
So you think breast milk is not acceptable for us ?. It is not, babys need that nutrition and also cow milk has many nutritional values that we cant get from breast milk so yeah.

Being a vegan is just boring like never having bacon, burgers or anything normal ppl have and you’d have to deal with constant bodily pain not being use to nothing but tasteless vegetables in my opinion vegan is just a boring tasteless life. Not trying to be mean just saying my opinion
Jasmine theSnowwolf omg this is so not true, in this century we have so many tastefull stuff. I like my vegan burgers more than meat. My brother (who isnt vegan) always eats my vegan food, because he thinks it is is way more tastefull. And another thing do you think your tastebuds are more important than the life of an animal. Oh and another thing vegan isnt unhealthy. Eating meat is unhealthy.
Jozsa Stienen Meat still contains some nutrients to it. And just because someone likes your food doesn't mean all of em does. Pls people iam 12 and i know this is the way life works... Sacrifices must be done or else
Sushi no that's true, not everyone likes the same things, but there are so many options for vegans so many different options and everything has a different taste. Sacrifices dont need to be maked cause we humans know it is wrong, if we see a piglet we dont think of bacon or food we think of a cute little living thing. Most of us could never torture or kill an animal. As a vegan I dont make sacrifices. Yes it still contains some nutrients, but you can also get those nutrients from vegetables, nuts, rise, fruits, beans,... and we also get diabetes from meat because of all the fat, milk cause breast cancer for girls and prostrate cancer for boys. ,( you should watch the documentary "What the health". It will explain a lot, it is not graphic.)
My mom used to have a farm. She would milk them of course but only like once a week. She kept the babys. She enjoyed her job with animals! (hopefully this makes you feel at least a bit better)
Thank you for your comment, Nini. I'm glad your mom was able to be kind to the animals on her farm. Sadly, in the dairy industry, they are not treated at all well and they suffer tremendously :(
It’s a dream of mine to own a farm to do the exact same thing that your mom did. I want my own source of eggs and milk because I don’t support these abusive industries. My family and I recently got chickens so we can get eggs, and I’m so happy about that. We are getting eggs from happy, healthy chickens, and omg, their eggs taste SOO MUCH BETTER than the eggs from grocery stores. It’s organic, beautiful, and it tastes sooo good! Again, they taste amazing!! The perfect breakfast! When I’ older and I move to my own house, I plan to get chickens as well, but I also want cattle. I want to get milk from happy, healthy cows. And I, of course, with let the babies drink the milk their mothers made for them. I will only borrow a little bit of their milk for baking recipes (I don’t drink milk and I ditched cereal recently) and that’s all. And when they stop producing milk, then I’ll get non-dairy milk! I really hope my dream comes true, it will make me the happiest girl on earth to own a farm full of happy animals that I can get milk and eggs from. I even want sheep so that when it’s time to shear them, I can use their wool to make sweaters (I just need to learn how to sew and knit lol, so for now I’ll stick with the easy stuff, which is eggs and milk!). Again, I hope this dream comes true. I want to get eggs, milk, and wool from happy animals, and I guarantee that no animal will be harmed in my farm.
@@SheWolf_Warrior Where did you get the chickens from? Were they all female? If yes, this means that all the males (one male for every female born) were macerated or suffocated in bags the day they hatched since they are considered “useless” to the industry.
That's cool, cows don't cry like that My grandmother owns a cow, she lets the calf drink milk, until the very second it can eat food, then she takes the rest of the milk
I live on the type of dairy farm this video is talking about although the facts aren’t right but they do really love to be milked one time we had a power outage and the cows didn’t get milked on time they had a fit and we’re pain to get in the milking parlor right afterwards
Those people are sick why would they do such a thing 😭 i love animals ❤️ i just wanna save any animal that gets abused its just messed up those who abuse animals are cold hearted leave a like if u like animals like me .
I'll be sharing this with everyone I know. Either you get empathy or you get cancer. Your choice. Being a mom that exclusively breastfed for the first part of my daughter's life, I can't imagine the horror I would feel if she was taken from me so I could have my milk stolen and fed to another species. This is despicable human behavior and we should be better than this.
Sarah Miller My in-laws are dairy farmers and they have a tough go of it sometimes. My wife and I give them a hand. But that is due to the whole trade thing with Canada. Their buyer quit buying from them but thank God they found another one. Now they are doing okay.
Behave yourself. A cow is a food item. The way some of you try and humanise these things is ridiculous. Also trying to compare humans to cows. Pathetic, laughable and ridiculous.
Molly smiles again not exactly you can get milk and meat that was on a farm and they animals were happy. And getting milk is a natural thing not filled with chemicals and medication
I just want to say something to all the people saying not all farm are like this support free range, I've been vegan my whole life so 12 years as i was brought up vegan and i never want to stop. One day i was watching TV and the channel changed showing something that has traumatised me forever. A mother cow couldn't walk she was so exhausted so she was hung up by her thighs and dragged along concrete with her head hitting the floor knocking her half out. I was crying so much as this introduced me to the horrors of the meat industry. Since then I've been researching and doing everything i can to find out more. Watching this made me sad but didnt have anything in that was new to me. Back to what i wanted to say was, "Free Range" doesnt mean they are in good care, in most cases it mean they are in the smallest cage possible that is allowed to be classed as "Free Range" which is around the size of an average garden. Now you may think oh thats ok for 1 cow but no there is usually 6 - 10 cows shoved into there and they have barely any space to move. Please if you read this, change your ways, for the animals.
@Maple Face there are different types of living things. Plants are not the same as animals and us. You don't see plants growing legs and running. Plants are normal and good to the the earth. And they're also supposed to be eaten so picking an apple and eating it is not evil like taking a pig and slaughtering it. So shut your meat eating mouth, and have some empathy on animals that are being slaughtered for your fat ass. Being vegan or vegetarian is not unnatural, but saving the earth. Us vegans actually deserve this earth and want it to be peaceful unlike you who doesn't even care and just wants to eat. I honestly don't understand why people hate vegans. We're just saving the planet.
DONT BE VEGAN DUDE IF YOU BE VEGAN YOU WILL DIE YOU NEED MEAT AND VEGTABLES TO LIVE MORE NOT VEGAN = CANCER NO MEAT = VERY SKINNY WHICH MEANS YOU WILL BE WEAK AND WILL BE SICK AS HELL

This isn’t true for most dairy cows, I know a ranch that allows their cows to live on *huge* and I mean 50,000 Acres of land, that they roam around on and live a stress free life. They stay with their calf’s and their happy.
In my country, It is illegal to eat beef because beef is from cows and cows are treated like the milk gods and they give us milk. And my country is India's neighbor. :3
Your right Kate! we need to stop this abuse! I feel so bad for all cows that go through this, but this is just as bad as South Korea! South Korea eats dogs! which is just horrible! let the cows and all animals run free...Forever
I'm vegan. Overnight from Vegetarian after watching a few minutes of an undercover video from Dairy. Mercy For Animals. Com I still share the videos & my story. This video has a kinder, gentler tone, yet I was moved to tears. Great job & I'll also share this one. God bless all of the protectors & those of us who try to reach others. 💞
Not all farms are like this, but ones that are like this need to be stoped
All farms want money
The vast majority are, and even those that aren't still take away the calves and send spent cows to slaughter. Some are less bad than others, but why support any amount of cruelty for a product that isn't even good for humans?
Dared Seriously, that is not how it actually works. Take it from a former farmer- me.
Dared Perhaps so, and I don 't know exactly where you live, but the scenes depicted in this video are spot-on for the vast, vast majority of the meat you find in an average grocery store or restaurant.
About 90% are
I live on a farm and are cow have at least 3,000 acres of land and are not abused they are and will always be treated with respect and love.

Many cows are free to run in fields
Its not always.I own my own dairy farm. They have large paddocks to roam about with fresh green grass and gorgeous dams.We let our cows give birth in peace. After about 1 or 2 weeks off them on mother's milk they get hand fed ( still with there mum's for about 3/4/5 months. They get food every day and pain killers for the tagging. We don't hurt our cows. They live freely. At night we herd them into a nice warm barn with spacious pens one for each cow.We sell our males to other farms that hopefully won't kill and just want em as pets ( hopefully u can never be sure ).
Lol sos didn't mean to post that twice plz forgive me
Ok geez
As a farmer, this is an extreme case.

Thank you. So dose my aunt

Thank you for making this video. I've been looking for one that doesn't have graphic content and this is just perfect.
Smoretown IKR
Smoretown thank you
Like she said though, industries that support or do horrible things like what was shown, not all farms are well kept or really taken care of as they should be.
True
I really cried because I visited a farm on a field trip but they didn’t do this they had free cows.
But the one the comment refered probably was 😔

Honestly, you clearly aren't a vet, because if you were then you would know that if cows aren't milked, they develop a disease called mistitus that can be fatal if not treated immediately.
This video is incredibly wrong.
Diana Ivette Vicuna ya
If only everyone got their milk like that
And what happens when they stop producing milk? They live out old age and then retire?

-sorry for seeing this 5 months later lol
exactly!! i cant stress this enough
And to get them pregnant isint rape because we wait till them are in heat then we incemenate them WHEN THEY WANTED TO, so we just do like the nature would do
i literally cried.......i feel so grateful for the respect that we give to the cows here in india....
👍 but we drink milk & vegans don't like that.
India is the largest exporter of beef in the world. You want to know why? Because dairy cows are also killed in India
I just went to a farm called "Healthy Way Dairy"
and they are not like that, AT ALL!
Before leaving I saw a mom cow and her grown adult daughter cow rubbing faces and playing,
it was just so, flat out awesome.
God bless cows. And, I pray everyday that calves stop getting separated from their moms.
They bond life-long like us humans. (But not all of them do.)
But... other than this,...

I used to drive with him a lot I don’t eat goat it doesn’t taste nice, I got scared once because dad threw a dead goat into a bin that the dead ones go in and the nerves in his body kicked the bin and little me was terrified I thought it was alive and shouted “hey, this one is still alive”
But I was like 4-9 he had that job for a while . Now he has a different job he works carting sheep (for sheering not for meats).

does your mum have actual dairy experience, or has she just watched a few videos?

I don't like milk and I live over a farm, I LOVE COWS SO LIKE AND SAVE COWS

Sadly, in the dairy industry, they are not treated at all well and they suffer tremendously :(
And she kept all the babies (including the boys) and let them live out their lives (25 years is their lifespan)? Didn’t send them to slaughter?
Nice I bet the calves were cute.😊
@@SheWolf_Warrior Where did you get the chickens from? Were they all female? If yes, this means that all the males (one male for every female born) were macerated or suffocated in bags the day they hatched since they are considered “useless” to the industry.
I don’t drink milk anymore. I drink white water.
I’m not funny ;_;

My grandmother owns a cow, she lets the calf drink milk, until the very second it can eat food, then she takes the rest of the milk
Yes but in nature you do not drink milk if you are a grownup!
@@Emma-xb2oj ok, do you think i give a damn about that? My genetics don't give my family line lactose intolerance

@@roknroly cows, actually like to be milked, because babies bite, my grandmother has shown me photos of tears on the utters
Rubi Owens then go vegan and stand up to this shit
Soko My wife and I love milk feed veal. When I cook it I always sing like the Swedish chef from the Muppets.
@@batmospherecreations2548 wow you can not just say that shit
I wish we could treat these people how they treat these animals 😔
Behave yourself. A cow is a food item. The way some of you try and humanise these things is ridiculous. Also trying to compare humans to cows. Pathetic, laughable and ridiculous.
@Mrkipling2201 your a real one
We are the top of the food chain
Once lions are on the top of the food chain nobody cares but when humans come on the top we all of a sudden care
Ain't that called mass genocide?
The way we treat cows is terrifying and yet you thunder jerks think it's okay?
Wow.
I never know that's how we get milk! I give up on milk

vegan: I'm vegan
I’m vegan after watching this and the pig one 💁🏼♀️
♡♡♡
DONT BE VEGAN DUDE IF YOU BE VEGAN YOU WILL DIE YOU NEED MEAT AND VEGTABLES TO LIVE MORE
NOT VEGAN = CANCER
NO MEAT = VERY SKINNY WHICH MEANS YOU WILL BE WEAK AND WILL BE SICK AS HELL

This isn’t true for most dairy cows, I know a ranch that allows their cows to live on *huge* and I mean 50,000 Acres of land, that they roam around on and live a stress free life. They stay with their calf’s and their happy.
