Medical testing is a different beast out of the scope of what this video os protesting. Though soon we may be able to be rid of that as well with further advances in medicine.
I’m proud to say that in all my years of living i haven’t used one cosmetic that used animal testing for their research 👍 ( mostly bc I’m only aloud to use chapstick but i hope i keep that title until all animal testing is over )

currently, i’m fostering a rabbit who was rescued from a testing lab. she’s beautiful and such a gentle soul, and it breaks my heart when i just move my hand and she flinches in fear. it’s taken a while to get her comfortable with being petted, and though she’s made incredible strides and has become much happier, she’s going to have a long road to being a normal rabbit. i can’t imagine the thought process of anyone that says this is okay.

Yeah but soaps and shampoos are essential... there's alternatives of course, some more expensive than others. Or you can make your own. For example my grandma likes to wash her hair with egg mixed with essential oil or sometimes dry rice (yes really).

There is makeup / toothpaste / soap / shampoo that isn't tested on animals and isn't sold in countries where testing is obligatory. If you try it on dead animals, you wouldn’t be able to realize internal problems that may happen because the inside of the animal wouldn’t function anymore. I feel like there is no other way to stop animal cruelty unless we start testing on humans, but that would cause total chaos. it isn’t as easy as you make it sound, sadly.

The sad truth is we don’t even need to test cosmetics on animals anymore the only reason we do it is because countries like China make it apart of their regulations that any product that’s exported to them must be tested (even when they don’t need to be) and companies love exporting goods to China due to the consumerism there. Sadly, culturally, China does not care as much about animal rights, the government barely cares about human rights.

The reason for this short film to be so impactful is that they make you think about the rabbit as an equal: He lives in a home like yours, he talks about his family and friends, he lives like us until his "work" takes all that away. The team behind this animation did great. People who don't think about animal lifes being as important as theirs, had the opportunity to change that thought with this video.

animal testing is not nearly as cruel as what people think it is. Nothing is done if the animal can feel pain If an animal is hurt it is humanely euthanized. without animal testing animals or humans would not have any medicine and everything would be so much more dangerous. These animals were bred for research no random animal will get hurt. I am a vet who works for these tested animals. I make sure they aren't in pain and that they save many many more lives. Even if an animal dies its not in vein and dont let its death go to waste, Use medications and support humane animal testing!

There is makeup / toothpaste / soap / shampoo that isn't tested on animals and isn't sold in countries where testing is obligatory. It takes a while to get familiar with which brands to use but it is so worth it and once you've done it it's easy to just keep buying them.

If you try it on dead animals, you wouldn’t be able to realize internal problems that may happen because the inside of the animal wouldn’t function anymore. I feel like there is no other way to stop animal cruelty unless we start testing on humans, but that would cause total chaos. it isn’t as easy as you make it sound, sadly.

Because rabbits have nearly exact copy of what a human bodily function. :( it's very sad and me as a pharmacy student, we are starting to have the subject where we use rodents for our experiments :(

This hits real deep. The animation looks cute while the story is basically inhuman.
The sad truth is we don’t even need to test cosmetics on animals anymore the only reason we do it is because countries like China make it apart of their regulations that any product that’s exported to them must be tested (even when they don’t need to be) and companies love exporting goods to China due to the consumerism there. Sadly, culturally, China does not care as much about animal rights, the government barely cares about human rights.
