      Motley crue always kick ass and still do. Mick Mars was once asked how he learned guitar. He said I play as loud as I can. If the amp went to ten he play at eleven. Crue forever. I'm sixty and was driving listening to Prmal Sceam loud.

      My favorite Crue song and one that was never featured on a studio album but as a new track on a greatest hits compilation. Not as revered as "Kickstart My Heart," "Home Sweet Home," or "Shout at the Devil" but in my eyes tops them all.

    The 80’s was so much fun as a teenager. Going to see major concerts for under $25 a ticket. Jamming out to your favorite metal band while jamming quarters into arcade games. Going to house parties. When Mtv was cool.

    • @Schrimpieman
      @Schrimpieman 2 года назад +4

      Countless tracks from countless artists of that era are underrated and never played on air. Real Shame. But nice to know you're exposing your youngster to music. Not meaning to be your mentor, but just do it selectively.
      .
      I grew up responsibly enough, knowing that I had to separate fantasy from reality. We all have bad days; sometimes I was full of rage and I let out my frustrations on a punching bag and "Primal Scream" or Crue's "Wild Side" blasting in background allowed me to vent energy. ....a much more appropriate method than attacking a living being.
      .
      What's my point? Critics may blame hard lyrics turning kids into maniacs & muderers. Not true. It's okay to temporarily immerse oneself into violent (?) fantasy to expel human emotions. We all need a release once in a while. Key Factor is to Return to Reality. I think that's where many parents fail to accomplish, resulting in ill-tempered kids.
      .
      Please don't be offended by my entry; I have no evil agenda. Just found it interesting you headbanging with your baby daughter; emphasis on "baby" and the type of music at her tender age. Do it right, she'll be strong, polite, and proud with a distinct personality.
      .
      Back to the underrated topic: Who knows? The music industry works like any other. It's all based on ratings and money. We heard the popular songs all the time over the airwaves, compared to equally valuable "B-Side" recordings didn't knew existed unless we played the whole album in its entirety. If it wasn't on the airwaves and we wanted it, we were forced to buy the album to hear it. Money spent, money made. Capitalism at work.
      .
      At least for those of us who got to experience the "B-Sides" and soak up the tunes, it (for me) made it even that much more special. More value is placed upon things harder to get. Primal Scream .... oh yeah!
      .
      Okay, so ....salutations... from this 55-yr old stranger (schrimpieman). I had a few minutes to share. Rock On !!

    The summer of '91 was a great time for music. In addition to this song, arguably one of the Crüe's heaviest, Skid Row released Slave To The Grind just a couple months earlier. Both of these songs served as a reminder that these bands were more than just Hair Metal, and that they were still here to play. Both bands were in heavy rotation on MTV and the radio, along with Metallica and their newest album, the "Black Album" which was attracting a whole new generation of fans that previously hadn't heard them. Meanwhile, Guns 'N' Rose's were tearing up the charts with their Use Your Illusion albums. I miss this time in my life, before grunge and alternative rock completely took over the airwaves.

      Most hair metal songs are crap. It's a shame that Motley Crue gets thrown into that category, because they actually wrote several really good songs and they were quite talented. The only metal band from the 1980s that might have been better than Motley Crue is Guns N Roses.
