Motley crue always kick ass and still do. Mick Mars was once asked how he learned guitar. He said I play as loud as I can. If the amp went to ten he play at eleven. Crue forever. I'm sixty and was driving listening to Prmal Sceam loud.
I'm not exactly sure if Mick Mars is underrated. He may not be as famous in pop-culture as the other band members, but he's highly recognized as a great hard rock blues guitarist.
From a technical standpoint, this is the best each of them has ever sounded. That bass line, the drumming intro, Vince's powerful voice, and Mick's killer solo and slides. All so perfect.
I'd agree- this is actually a really powerful recording and performance. The intro bass and drums are supremely tight with some groove in it too. It is very hard to make sixteenth notes groove like that.

The summer of '91 was a great time for music. In addition to this song, arguably one of the Crüe's heaviest, Skid Row released Slave To The Grind just a couple months earlier. Both of these songs served as a reminder that these bands were more than just Hair Metal, and that they were still here to play. Both bands were in heavy rotation on MTV and the radio, along with Metallica and their newest album, the "Black Album" which was attracting a whole new generation of fans that previously hadn't heard them. Meanwhile, Guns 'N' Rose's were tearing up the charts with their Use Your Illusion albums. I miss this time in my life, before grunge and alternative rock completely took over the airwaves.

To all below who've given props to this song. Hell yeah! I remembered the day this song premiered on MTV (shortly after Metallica Enter Sandman). My friend and I (age 12 or 13) were waiting for it to come on in my parents' living room. When It finally came on my friend and I just lost our shit, started jumping up and down on the furniture. I considered myself among the elite Crue Heads back then, and after that day Primal Scream became my favorite Crue song and MTV video. Relived that day today!

How the world worked out differently, this would not have been the apogee, but the jumping-off point for the next decade of amazing.
Primal scream showed the true talent of Motley Crue! Songwriting all the way down to the music! According to some rock publications this song is in the Top 10 of all Motley Crue songs, and rightfully so. In my honest opinion it should be numero uno. And just think about it. I'm not big into hair metal, but every once in a while I like to listen to this band because of the badass riffs. I had never heard this song before, and it's awesome... Guess I gotta look more into the other songs, not just the obvious ones
Most hair metal songs are crap. It's a shame that Motley Crue gets thrown into that category, because they actually wrote several really good songs and they were quite talented. The only metal band from the 1980s that might have been better than Motley Crue is Guns N Roses.
@Reece Cantrell I personal kickstart my heart, too young to fall in love, too fast for love and home sweet home are the best (in my opinion) but they are all really good and I listen to them all, but I do respect your opinion as that's a really good song too
This is the best song by Motley Crue. The writing and delivery in this video is perfect. Wish they would have shown the band a bit more though. I've never been able to shake this song for some reason. 💯🌹
Glad I got to grow up with music like this around. No matter how bad shit got, you could turn tunes like this on and instantly be put into a better mood
The lyrics is SOO in tune with people of that generation. F the government and do things on your own. Even if you "crash and burn" you did it your way.
I was speaking of doing things YOUR way. Not the way others (parents/ friends) tell you to do it. Even if fall flat on your face, begging to come back to mom & dad or living on the streets. You crash and burn
Excellent song about Nikki's family. However, there's not enough Nikki in the video. His bass playing still makes my clothes fall off. :-) Love you Nikki and always will. Hugs
When people say that Vince can’t sing they need to watch this video. This whole song is just pure sex. All of them were right on point. Oh to relive my 20’s again.
What's amazing is that Motley somehow someway constructed this song as burnout was setting in. If any one song in their catalog perfectly framed the band and defined them it's this one or Looks that Kill. Listen close Vince found a new range in his vocals ability.at that time. Primal Scream was a departure from band lyrically too. It wasn't the typical party and scoring chick's song I think Nikki was putting his past on paper And you could tell the anger in him through Micks riffs
When I hear the Crue I go right back to 16 years old wild as duck, having the time of my life! Now my 15 year old son is doing the same. Scary and satisfying at the same time.
This was Motley Crue throwing it back to the early 80s sound that gave them a sound that when we heard the first few notes you knew EXACTLY who it was!!! GREAT STUFF

This song feels like a bridge between classic Crue and the killer music they were about to write with Corabi on the ‘94 album. It’s a great sound for them.

Check out Wildside, Looks That Kill, Home Sweet Home, and You're All I Need. All really good Crue songs IMHO.
Nikki Sixx favorite song he helped write. My favorite 80's hair band. I love Nikki
one of the best crue songs!
Been a fan for almost 40 years. This is the best song the Crue ever recorded.
@Reece Cantrell I personal kickstart my heart, too young to fall in love, too fast for love and home sweet home are the best (in my opinion) but they are all really good and I listen to them all, but I do respect your opinion as that's a really good song too
I agree, this was their best song.
@Reece Cantrell Dancing on Glass is my favorite off Girls Girls Girls, for sure.
@@calhef Too Fast for Love is a great track and album!
Without You has a special place in my heart. My wife and I danced to it at our wedding.
Doctor Feelgood this is right up there
This video deserves more views.
And I need a time machine. I want to live my 20 years in the 80's
Oh my....best Motley Crue song by far! 🔥🔥🔥 & that bass! 😋 Nikki sixx can tickle me the way he tickles that string!
This is the best song by Motley Crue. The writing and delivery in this video is perfect. Wish they would have shown the band a bit more though. I've never been able to shake this song for some reason. 💯🌹
It does bring all of the elements together: raw, sexy, wild, dangerous.
DUDE!! THE 80'S ROCKED SO HARD!!! 🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌💪💪💪👊👊👊💀💀💀🤯🤯🤯
The 80's was an awesome time for hair spray rock/metal! I grew up with it...and it still kicks arse!
Who else is still rocking to this awesome song in 2024?? ❤
Definitely
MOTLEY CRUE ROCKS
My favorite Crue song. 2024!
Hell yeah
Really good live
Tommy Lee..unrelentless groove meister..Sixx and Lee are untouchable..
Vince Neil looking like a rock God in this video!
Yes I couldn’t agree more I love his hair in this video....Vince was my crush growing up😊
Glad I got to grow up with music like this around. No matter how bad shit got, you could turn tunes like this on and instantly be put into a better mood
Best crue track ever made & this will always be Vince to us
This was Vince at his pinnacle. Straight up Rock God.
Bands like motley crue, metaliica, and def Leppard have paved the road for metal and have left their mark.
The lyrics is SOO in tune with people of that generation. F the government and do things on your own. Even if you "crash and burn" you did it your way.
Now everyone wants to be supported by the government
MGTOW and why not wgtow too. But let's meet once a while
Not what they are talking abt... it is PERSONAL crash & burn. Not being a thug and criminal . Jeesh
I was speaking of doing things YOUR way. Not the way others (parents/ friends) tell you to do it. Even if fall flat on your face, begging to come back to mom & dad or living on the streets. You crash and burn
SO. TRUE.
Excellent song about Nikki's family. However, there's not enough Nikki in the video. His bass playing still makes my clothes fall off. :-) Love you Nikki and always will. Hugs
Mick Mars says this is his favorite Solo to play !!! ✔️🎯💯
When people say that Vince can’t sing they need to watch this video. This whole song is just pure sex. All of them were right on point. Oh to relive my 20’s again.
This is very underated song! It was a step up from the norm!
I love the intro with the heavy bass
This song is so underrated, Motley Crue for ever! :D
I screamed at the top of my lungs a few hour ago at Citi Field. Under the gorgeous NYC sunset, I finally got to see y'all at 47. Amazing!!!
It wasn't the typical party and scoring chick's song
I think Nikki was putting his past on paper
And you could tell the anger in him through Micks riffs
I'm really surprised Motley Crue would break up after releasing a gem like this song.
This is the motley Crue we all know, love and miss.
When I hear the Crue I go right back to 16 years old wild as duck, having the time of my life! Now my 15 year old son is doing the same. Scary and satisfying at the same time.
I love them im 14 years old and I show them last year of June they did great
One of the most underrated Crue songs
Ten Seconds To Love is the top underrated Crue song (in my opinion of course.).
This was Motley Crue throwing it back to the early 80s sound that gave them a sound that when we heard the first few notes you knew EXACTLY who it was!!! GREAT STUFF
Best song they ever did. And on top of that, you’ve got Matt Mahurin directing the video. Win all around.
My absolute favorite Crue song.
I have my Crue list for when I take that long drive back home to Red Lake, MN. These songs get me through the five hour drive :)
This is one badass song. I first heard this song recently and i fell inlove with it. This is one of my favorite songs from motley crue. I love the way the drum beat and those guitars sound. Fucking badass. I'm glad i grew up in the 80s and 90s to enjoy all the good music that was played. I love and miss those days.
This song is pure raw Motley Crue.
I absolutely love this song! Makes me wanna move and play air guitar 🎸 that beat along with the bass guitar is one of my favorite of all time!!!!
I would’ve loved to have been a teenager during this age! I’m a junkie for the oldies ! 🤘🏼
It was the best time!!🤘🎸 saw these guys with guns n' roses!
to me, the best crue song , hands down,,should have gotten way more airplay in its day
"If you wanna life on your own terms you gotta be willing to crash and burn"...man if that isn't the truth.
This song feels like a bridge between classic Crue and the killer music they were about to write with Corabi on the ‘94 album. It’s a great sound for them.
The bass... Omg
the 80's rock was the best and there will never be anything else that compares!!!
the best opening of a song with the bass and drums!!!
And Mars' opening guitar riff complements the bass and drums perfectly.
My favourite crew song. Absolute class.
Vince looks great in this video great tune
Seen you guys in Houston on farewell tour. Im in remission5 years, I try to see as many concerts as I can afford. loved you guys.
This song is crazy underrated.
Vince Neil completely nailed it on this song.
One of their best songs. Crue fan forever 🤘🤘🤘😈😈😈
My favorite with the kick ass drums. Very under rated tune.
if u were blessed to live in time if true rock music then crue is had to be core foundation time we brought this shit back
One of my favs of The Crue.❤😘
I was at US festival in 83, and I knew this band was going places, I was hooked..
Hands down one of their best!! Dont know why it was not played live more! It kicks ass!
I am referring to "Primal Scream"
