Fwi, be aware of your equipment load, try not to go over a medium load so you can still dodge without fat rolling.

You're getting better at the combat. 😁😁
I'd explore quite a bit more before taking on Margit. Find some dungeons, maybe that night boss at the bridge, find some new equipment, etc.

Best overlooked advise i ever heard: For the first playtrough, use the bag wisely. I play on controller, so for me it was: Down for Torrent, Left for Lantern, Right for Summon and Up for Telescope. Later i changed "Up" to Throwing Items.
But be assured: the telescope is really nice. Its worth using more for exploration.
Last but not least: U can get the bell for summons at the Twin Maidens in the Roundtable Hold(Ranni the Witch moved on for some reason)
Lookin forward for more gameplay, u got this. Be forged through the experience until your tarnished soul reaches us all in the realms between. Thy should never surrender, until the Elden Ring crowns you Elden Lord!

It's always great to see new people experiencing Fromsoftware games for the first time.
Regarding the meeting at the church at night: You need to accept the accord at the Gatefront Ruins Grace... and as said by some people here, if you've already gone the Round Table Hold you will have skipped the meeting. Items lost via skipping convos like that can sometimes be found at the Round Table's Merchant.
There are encounters that only happen at night (dying almost always resets the day to morning)
Player messages can often be amusing or trolly, but occasionally helpful in discovering secrets, so playing Online isn't terrible. That said, you can set the game to launch in Offline mode in the menu settings (meaning every time you boot the game it will default to offline mode).

👆 Re: messages, yep. Sometimes in dark caves where platforming is required, messages will show you where to jump. The can also reveal hidden items or passages….you wouldn’t have found Boc without those messages. And regarding bloodstains, if you see a lot on the floor at the junction of two passages in a catacomb, it can tell you that an enemy is around the corner ready to ambush you.

    Some more tips:
    - you can go offline in the main menu
    - try not to avoid big enemies or at least check if they guard items. For example this episode you ran by one giant and headed straight into the woods while behind that dude waited one of the most important items in the game.
    - everything in this game is a tradeoff. bigger weapons do more damage but are much slower than for example daggers. So yeah wielding in two hands feels a bit slower.
    - you can upgrade everything you want. Just don't upgrade stuff you won't use since it takes smithing stones and those are in somewhat limited supply.
    - I would not sell stuff (asides from duplicates). Trust me you might need some things later on. Also its not really worth the runes in many cases (you did not sell anything important yet).
    - If you wear too much stuff you are heavy loaded and your dodge roll is sloooow. If that happens either wear less or level endurance.
You are getting there. Try to find some dungeons and get some boss fighting experience. You will need it when going back to margit :D

Try to keep looking at ur equip load cuz u was heavy roll , if u equip too many weapon (club and bow) and heavy armor u will have slow roll , try to keep it at mid load as it shows in your equipment.

You can increase your carry load by increasing Endurance in your stats when leveling up.

  • @MutsuReflet
    @MutsuReflet 4 месяца назад +1

    22:20
What stats to go for totally depends on what you're either interested in or if you want to wield a specific weapon. You could look up all the weapon types yourself and choose one or you can find them out slowly and pick a favorite. Different weapons requires different stats to properly use them, but yes, going magic is easier on a general note. Since you're not a magic type though, you can ignore Int and Fai and Arc. Physical weapons generally need Str and Dex. So your focus is Vigor, Endurance (for stamina and higher equip load), Str, and Dex. (The only time you want to level Arc is if your weapon has a Bleed Passive Effect)
Your next question; you're wondering if you should bother leveling up your current sword or not or if you should go find a better one.
Honestly, it's totally up to you! It's your world, your resources, your challenge. People aren't going to agree on the same weapon, and different people will recommend different weapons too. The hardest part is gathering Smithing Stones at the beginning of the game, since it's already scarce and scattered (they become easier late-game but that's many many hours away).
25:00 You're becoming an amazing fighter 💪🏽 Also you killed pumpkin head so easily 😭 I died my first time.
45:00 You did great against all the soldiers and Pumpkin Head! Going with the bow was a great idea against the dudes throwing fire pots. That "twat" was personal 😂
Also you killing the big shield knight the FIRST TIME was wild because I died to him a lot 😭 I kept going up and trying again only to get destroyed, you're so much better than me it's crazy AND you were heavy rolling, that's insane.
49:32 You got half of a Medallion, your thinking is absolutely right! You need to look for the other half. I may tell you about it in the future (it's not important rn as it is too difficult to get rn for you).
    53:10
"Why you saying you're hungry if you have a lot of food?" 😂 so true
1:09:30 You defeated him! The weapon is very good because of the bleed effect, you'll see next time. Since you have the dagger, the stats you'd like to upgrade is Dex, Arc (and Str). Along with Vigor and Endurance whenever you want to. (Someone said to not level Vigor, don't listen to them 😭 health is so important. Manage your stats how you'd like)
You made it into one of the caves I've mentioned! Yes I did give out a list of POIs, it's definitely better to do those before Margit so that you're more leveled, skilled, and stronger! Please take your time, you have infinite hours with the game, you don't need to rush anything.
Things people have pointed out in the comments:
    - Lock on
    - Heavy load
    - Renna the Witch
At this point, ignore the comments telling you to rest at the Church to find Renna, just listen to the ones who tell you to go to Roundtable Hold. I think you missed her, which is okay, you can still get the Bell by buying it from the Twin Maidens (on the leftmost door, you're gonna turn right, past lots of book shelves, and there's a tiny room before a grand room with a Red guy sitting down, they're right there on the right side.)
Heavy load: you're carrying too much, you can see this on the righthand side of the screen when you open up the equipment menu. It makes you Heavy roll and heavy rolling doesn't help at all with... well, dodging. Remove 1 equipment, any equipment, entirely. You can always equip or swap things out later.
Lock on: this is important to keep the enemy you're focusing on in the middle of the screen so that you don't have to bother turning your camera to them. You can always de-lock or swap target lock, but locking on is great since the run/dodge are on the same button- and that button is awkward to press while also trying to look around. Because you're likely using your thumb for both, so you can see the problem here..
I will give you more POIs if you decide to explore the ones I gave out last video, especially when you move to an entire new area 👌🏼
Here's one more you were very close to:
    - The Giant you saw that you didn't want to fight, if you go past or around him, there's a Church (with a site of Grace). Follow along the trail towards East just slightly above Mistwood. There's a good item there too you may use.
Besides that, the POIs I gave out last video is the only thing you can do in Limgrave. These places are great to hone your skills before Margit. I took on Margit severely underleveled with no shirt, and an upgraded sword and he made me uninstall the game 3 times 😭 But that's because I didn't know where else to go and I didn't have anything as a result of that :(
You will find more weapons along the way, you're welcome to swap and level anything you find interesting or cool! Remember, YOU'RE playing, use anything that feels ✨️you✨️. I will help you out more next video. 💪🏽 You can do this, I believe in you.

about the bell, apparently if you go to the round table first, the witch doesn't give it to you at the church. You can still buy the bell from the maiden husks there, and maybe one or two summons xD

Hi there! Your vids are adorable, I like it very much ❤
I want to recommend some tips.
First and foremost- read descriptions of what you pick in game. It really helps to know what you can operate with.
One of the best weapons in the game - Bloodhound Fang - it is truly awesome. I really struggle to Not use it every playthrough, lol. It is not far from the Fort Height, on the hill near there. And in that case you can start investing in Dexterity and Strength as your main attacking stats.
Explore caves for smithing stones to upgrade your weapon of choice as fast as possible. It will help tremendously.
Shield is awesome when fighting knights, but it requires careful stamina management.

    • @ernieb3949
      @ernieb3949 4 месяца назад +2

Bloodhounds Fang isn't that close to fort Haight. It is closer to the south end of the lake and the ruins on top of the hill there.

Hahaha. The Benny Hill song at the end got a chuckle out me.
    1. Keep the reduvia knife. It scales better with the build you chose when you level it up.
    2. Keep working on your lock on and maneuvering. Lock on attack then dodge while moving around to replenish your stamina.
    3. Keep having fun and cheers!

Hello Lamo. So unfortunately, I think you missed the cutscene at the church. This game is bad about "if you do this first then you can't do that anymore". You can still buy the bell at the Roundtable. I'm not sure why you're glowing like that, that usually means you have a buff on you. That glowing tree thing at 16:07 can be examined and a ghost will appear and lead you to something, but in this case you had already found it on your own (Mistwood Ruins) so it was turned off. There's a friend in The Mistwood Ruins, if you can find him, Kale told you to use the finger snap. Red scarabs give you HP flask, blue gives FP flask, any other color gives a special item. You really shouldn't sell anything unless it's a copy or a material you have a bunch of. Dual welding is cool but it's much better if both weapons are the same weapon type (I.E. 2 katanas) When you equipped that club you went from medium load to heavy load (see status screen), the heavier your load the slower you roll. You can increase how much weight you can carry by leveling endurance. You don't want to go past medium load, walk around barefoot if you have to! Okay now for the hard part, leveling. Vigor and some endurance are always a safe bet. Mind increases your FP, this is good if you use magic or a lot of weapon abilities, some summons will also require more FP than you now have. But for now I wouldn't worry about mind. Intelligence and Faith are for the most part spell casting abilities, some weapons may require it as well, for now I would leave it alone. Arcane increases bleed damage and item discovery, plus a couple other little things, best to leave it alone for now. So we're left with strength and dexterity. It's up to you to decide which path to take. For the most part a strength weapon is going to be heavy and slow but do better damage. A dex weapon is going to be lighter, faster, but not as strong. Look at your sword in the menu, under 'attribute scaling' is says Str-D Dex-D. So that weapons damage scales with both str and dex at a D-scale (if it were C, B, or A it would scale even better). Some weapons will only scale with str and some only with dex. That's why you need to choose which path you want to go. I know that probably sounds confusing, if you have any questions feel free to ask. Oh and yes keep exploring, there's 2 caves in that river, one at the north part of the swamp (you can see it on your map), and a cave on the west coast. You still have all of Southern Limgrave and more east Limgrave as well. Cya!

    • @Maitreya0208
      @Maitreya0208 4 месяца назад

The glowing on her character at the start of the vid is because when the downpour of golden leaves falls from the Erdtree, every enemy you defeat drops more runes. I think it’s on par with having a gold pickled fowl foot active. In fact the same small buff icon beneath the HP/FP/Stamins bars appears for this environmental effect as with the fowl foot. The glow is a visual indicator that the buff is active. In my (admittedly anecdotal) experience, it’s not uncommon in Limgrave. It’s uncommon in Liurnia, it’s rare in Caelid, and by the time you reach Altus it’s extremely rare that it happens.

Lamo, you already have arguably the best all-around shield in the game: the brass shield. You just need to level your stats to use it. Pretty sure I saw it in your inventory on the last video.
At 21:40 “This isn’t where I was before…is it? No.” It’s exactly where you were in episode 3 trying to find the fort.
Some level of magic is necessary, even for melee builds. Incantations are more versatile, and you’ll need faith for that. The support incantations, which can buff you, heal you, and remove ailments, are extremely helpful and only need 14-16 faith, and a sacred seal. Some you can buy, and some you’ll find by defeating adversaries and looting corpses and chests.

Agreed. The Sell mechanic is a waste of time unless you’re just trying to clear your chest of excess common gear. If you’ve got 16 Godrick Soldier Greaves, sell them to clear space…never sell anything just for the Runes. The most legendary unique weapons in the game sell for 1000 runes, which is less than you’ll get for killing a single enemy just a little later.

Really enjoying your videos. You’re doing well!
    You asked for suggestions where to level up. There are literally hundreds of builds you can go for in Elden Ring, but i would say there are four directions you can go;
    1) Melee focused - I would suggest level STR, but keep in mind if you do this you are severely restricting ranged opportunities for the whole game
    2) Sorcery focused - Level INT and MND, but you can also use martial weapons. You will find out why later. In my opinion sorcery is better in the early game, but doesn’t scale as well in the end game. Not in terms of raw damage, more in the variety of damage you can deal.
    3) Incantation focused - Level FAI and MND, same as above you can also use martial weapons for the same reason. I prefer this as the incantations are more varied and can also heal/protect you better
    4) Status Effect focused - Level ARC, MND, & DEX - this is where you apply bleed or poison with low DAM but high DPS weapons like daggers. I find this to be the most fun style, but also quite challenging as you have to be quite aggressive to keep the status effects going
My suggestion would be 3) - Incantation focused. Great diversity in what you can do, but also: around mid to late game you are setup to use the best weapon in the game (IMO).
I tried to avoid spoilers btw, wasn’t clear if you wanted explicit recommendations on weapons. Can suggest those too if interested!
    Good luck.
P.S you already have pound for pound the best shield in the game, the Brass Shield. If you want to use it, level STR to 16 then enjoy 100% physical protection.

    • @LamoGaming1
      @LamoGaming1  4 месяца назад

I sold that shield. I'm an idiot. Can you get it again or is it gone forever?
And with build 3 would I focus on FAI and MND and level up others or only exclusively level up those two? Thanks for your help!

Just at the start of the video so maybe you figure this out later but at the church, you have to have met Melina and gotten the "spectral steed whistle" (Torrent). If you have done both of these then the person you are looking for should be there, however if you have progressed the story too far you will have skipped this meeting and she won't show up. You can buy the bell at the Roundtable hold from the Twin Maiden Husks.
Also the glowing you were talking about in the beginning is a buff. When you see the golden leaves falling and you have a golden glow it just means that you are currently receiving more runes than usual for killing enemies.
I missed the meeting at the church on one run as well.

If you do not get the Spirit Calling Bell from Renna, she will eventually stop appearing at the Church of Elleh. However, you can try waiting until nightfall at the Church, then open the map and Travel to Stormhill Shack then Travel back and then she should be there again. Otherwise, you can buy the bell for 100 runes, as well as the Lone Wolf Ashes from the Twin Maiden Husks in the Roundtable Hold.

Please try to lock ennemies more. For strong foes like the one with pumpkin head, make profit of the lock by circling around him. Better move on his size than staying face to him. A good roll can move you on his back. You'll notice that strong ennemies are low so they will take time to rotate to your face again.
Take a time to read items description, you already earned some good ones to try.
Watch carefully at all stats and status in weapons. You can think at first that some are weaker BUT maybe they are faster, maybe they add status effects, and more, maybe there is an ash of war on it. I don't know if you tried that already but it really is something.
Finally, as some people already wrote, be careful of your charge amount equipped. avoid fat-rolling at all cost

Girl, you committed a cardinal sin in the soulsbourne community. Don't ever sell your "one of" items---especially your fashion! Fashion.Is.All. Seriously, you'll get strong enough, you'll be able to wear whatever you want, and playing with style is part of this life, these games. Don't do it. Gotta give you points for being a souls virgin and starting with the theif class. It's a vetern's choice. But selling your knife was another shameful moment. Knives typically have an ability that comes in handy when you're in swampy water. Always keep a knife handy. Truly, only sell things that you have triples of. Even armor has a purpose for having doubles of. You'll figure that out if you keep up with monkey boy's story line. Also, if you haven't gone back to the white face creep at the start, make sure to do so. Keep up with his questline, as he'll open an area early on that will give you access to a very nice farming spot that will give you plenty of runes to power level.

Stop selling things. You get almost nothing for whatever you sell, and you incur no weight penalty for having 100 of the same item. Later, when you’ve got 70 gilded soldier caps, ok, go ahead and sell all but one….just so it’s easier to navigate your inventory. But for now? Sell nothing. Case in point: the brass shield. You sold an outstanding shield that required only a few points into strength to use, and you kept a great shield that isn’t any better (probably objectively worse) and requires a higher stat investment to use. Keep everything until you understand what it does and how it’s useful. Another case in point: the Reduvia. At 1:09:56 “Oh it’s not that good.” That dagger is almost universally considered the best dagger in the game, and it’s unique skill (Reduvia Blood Blade) is considered one of the best weapon skills in the game. That’s why so many commenters urged you to go get it. So again, don’t sell anything. You may think something is garbage tier when you’re first starting out, when it’s actually S tier. Happy hunting.

I've learned my lesson, won't be selling anything anymore 😄. I am having trouble finding the right stone to level up the dagger though

@@LamoGaming1 You may end up wanting to go a different direction with your build, too. Dex/Arcane would be the stats for that dagger (and many great bleed weapons), but you may want to invest elsewhere. Regarding stones, somber stone weapons are easier to upgrade because you only need one stone per level. With regular stone weapons, you need twelve of each stone type. Ex: to upgrade a standard weapon to +3, you need smithing stone 1’s: 2 for +1, 4 for +2, and 6 for +3. That pattern repeats all the way up to +24. If you follow the road along the lakeside in NW Liurnia north of the Kingsrealm ruins (there’s a fake wall blocking the path through at the far end of the ruins), you will find smithing master Iji who can sell you unlimited somber stones 1 and 2, and a set number of 3s and 4s (4 each I think). You can get there in 5 mins…there’s a hidden path (to the left of a broken bridge) just off to the right just before Stormveil castle to reach Liurnia without clearing Stormveil. Good luck….you’re doing great and the vids are awesome.

Im sorry, it was a bit more than 20 seconds. 😂
1.The Reduvia dagger is very good early game weapon and the best wep you have in your inventory, because it is fast and has blood loss( a passive effect that comes +/-every 3 hits). Upgrade it with sombersmithing stones .
    2. Brass shield is one off the best alround shield you can find and you sold it. 😅
    3. Buy smithing stones when you can from merchants of you can.
    4. Stop putting points in Vigor and stop in things that makes you dagger stronger, go 13 Arcane and after that dexterity.

Sorry. But it’s kinda hard watching a new player. When all I do is scream at all the things you’re missing. As if you can actually hear me. Like the book next to the bear, that was scratching the tree. As long as you don’t touch the bear he won’t touch you. And OMG the bow is the most underrated legendary weapon. But. You can only get the long bow from the round table hold. Or if your lucky enough, from a skeleton in one of the catacombs..😉🤷🏻‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@@LamoGaming1 bro. When it comes to Elden ring. I know this game better than most. When you get the book. Look at what you can craft. You can craft things that will help you in the game. The more books you find, the more things you can craft..🫡🤷🏻‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
