in the dungeon you were in behind the headless knight, you can ride the blades up to get to another level of the dungeon. You have to find another way into the area with the lever to open the boss door. You can't get through that gate from the side you were on.
-You fight stone people with a blunt weapon like a hammer, you do not fight stone with a razor sharp knife. - you do have in your inventory 2 remembersnces, turn them in for alot runes or turn them in at the round tablehold for weapons.
You can level up the spirit ashes (wolves), at level 5, they can take most early game bosses easily. You need to do a dialogue quest line between Roderika and Hewg at the Round Table. After that, she'll start spirit tuning. Have fun!
Yo it took me a while to figure out when I first played but if u press L2 and then R2 right after you’ll hit a full special move with bloodhounds fang! Enjoy!
Lol you play this game on the same schedule as I do, here and there. But bloodhounds fang definitely helps. Keep gaming and if you ever get to the States I'll treat you to a burger with the lot!
As you are getting back into the game you will, I'm sure, remember stamina management. Also overusing the special move on Bloodhound's fang can get you killed. Believe me, I know. :-) Have fun!
@@mortenu.5606 Didn't say there wasn't another way. Just explaining why the lift didn't work. I have finished this game 3 times and am almost through the 4th.. There are at least 2 other ways I have found to get into the Plateau. One through a cave and the other through a quest line.

Since you aren't using a shield, if you two hand the weapon it will do a bit more damage

It seems from soft really wanted us to get lost in terms of finding altus hahahaha
I found it the fun way the first time. (up the ravine, fought the boss) Even when I got the medallion I used that way up until 8th time through.

you have to have both halves of the Dectus Medallion to activate the lift.
