The black dog reminds me of Roger, the beloved pet dog of Durrell with whom he had passed many of his wonderful golden moments of his boyhood days perhaps in the same location, it's a breathtaking experience just to imagine it!
Aww love this, that’s our Cooper boy, we rescued him on the Peloponnese, when he was dumped in the bins at 6weeks old where we were parked, he then got real poorly with parvo… he made a full recovery and has travelled with us ever since 🫶🐾
Cooper is a kind, sweet and funny character… and very beloved 💯
We would love to see Corfu how it was back in the durrells days… we reckon we got the closest we ever will during 2020 and feel honoured ✨
@@VanJourney Many good wishes for Cooper, he looks so similar of my imagination of Roger with all his vigour and energy! Same good wishes for you as well to adopt Cooper as one of your family members. What is the use of reading Gerald Durell books if one cannot love 💕 animals!

I adore that PBS TV show. I got so scared when you fell. I thought you were going to roll right into the ocean. After watching this show I want to live in Greece, especially Corfu.

Just watched it, then went to the Google location - shocked to see that it's not in the middle of nowhere when I zoomed out, I think my illusions have just been shattered :-D :-D

The original families real villa is just down the road along the dual carriageway…. back in the day both places would have been beautifully quiet and out the way - we reckon pretty much as you’d imagined 😉

@@VanJourney we was meant to go last September, but covid put end to that idea, and I certainly don’t want to go there with restrictions, Corfu is for us to feel free, so where are you lot from, we are in south London
Totally - it’s pretty crazy in Greece right now! We live in our motorhome, so wherever it’s parked... some of Kate’s family originate from the east end 🗺
I can't wait to go back to Greece but this time in Corfu
You’ll love it, esp if you can get there out of high season… spring is our fave time 💯 when the island comes to life with wild flowers and the fireflies are out 🥰
Would love to see inside the house, we were in Corfu in June this year but didn’t manage to get to see it. What a beautiful house!
That would be great, we were told when we were there you can now rent it but hear it’s a pretty hefty price tag 😜
