Yea sure, it’s class 4 standard mot, any garage can do it, if they have the space and a pit for it. We use a commercial place as used them for years 👍

@VanJourney that's good to know, I've just finished converting my Man l2000 to a motorhome (PHGV on V5) so ready to take it for its MOT.

@@welshbeekeepers8275 nice… it’s not based on the taxation class, so long as you cannot fit a pallet of goods in it, it should be mot’d as presented (as a camper/class 4). Our 5t sprinter was PHGV/Van with windows and that went through, once converted, as class 4 👍

@VanJourney I only suggested cos almost all think lifepo is best, I use lead carbon batteries, no bms, no heater, no equalizing, no off gas, maintenance is full charge every 30 days, no chance of thermal runaway,and these can discharge 80% only reason I didn't mention before is the weight, 12v 250a is 170lbs.

@VanJourney I haven't seen any build like mine. The awful ideas I got from others , I didn't use, wood stove and outhouse, yeah feed a fire and suit up to pee no ty.

We struggle to make plans for next week 🙃💯 but we hope to have news on the whole passport situation any day 👍 … we could be off to the other side of the water, in a couple of weeks, next month or in 6 months! Time will tell, we’re always pretty fluid 🚍 🗺️

Dave, Thanks for the message. It is 7.5t so we both took our C1 back in 2017 to enable us to drive the 3 vans we have had since then which have all been over 3.5t. We went for class 1 as it was only £200 dearer than a C1+E which is the license needed for our current setup whilst towing. All the best Martin

That is a good call, we fitted midi fuses when we built out our last van. For this we just needed to get it working and had to work with what we could pick up locally. Cheers
