Ha I'm a professional then
Not for me
I remember when I was doing a workshop with a large orchestra when I was younger, we split into groups of our instrument sections and they told my group to play terribly as a little exercise. But no matter how hard we tried to play terribly, it always came out beautiful, so we just gave up on that exercise.😂😂😂

They're truly great teachers. In only one lesson they transformed you a lot! I think every teacher wants a student that starts as you started and finishes as you finished in only one lesson.

I love how the violin sounds, it reaches and enriches my soul. It is just sad that in my country only kids with rich parents can afford lessons or the violin itself.
In Russia there are free centers for training on the most popular instruments than in the West, where you have to pay for everything, here it is rotting with captalization in all its glory
in some countries there are centers where they teach you for free they lend you instruments or they charge you a minimum I have been studying for a few years now and they will not fit more than 5 dollars

What's amazing to me is that you can now get beginner lessons for any instrument from teachers anywhere in the world.
The violin to me is a very intimate instrument and can capture emotion and sounds like no other instrument I’ve ever heard, it tells deep tales and stories without words. It captivates the imagination and hearts of the world! Even if someone isn’t into it, just hearing a beautiful song changes their minds quickly!
I've always used to love the violin and guitar but i don't have any tools or confidence. When Alan plays the violin it completely captivates me. I really love it
That's right, destroy that violin with facts and logic
Ben Shapiro😂
Teacher: “ It’s Okay, you only played for three years” 😂🤣
You looked more like a person with anxiety issues rather than a bad student.
Actually considering the fact that a "good" (not average, good) student takes 4-5 years to be a decent violinist it's pretty normal for the "average" or the "below average" students to not be good even after learning violin for 3 years.
@@alwnthomas_ I learned most songs and have a good rhythm and everything after playing for 4 months, 7 hours each day, is that good or..... Cos people people around me are even better after 4 months, it's like a competition lmao, we all can play by ear too
@@samuelvizitiu9050 I'd say you guys are a group of prodigies! Being able to play such a delicate instrument like violin in just 4 months is something insane.
I'd totally recommend to not care about the progress of others. For example, not you want to feel better than your friends and imagine you succeed. Soon or later you have to play against or with new violinists and some of them might be playing the violin for years or maybe even decades. You'd slowly realize that it would take YOU decades to reach that level of fluency and perfection.
That could result in either of these 2 things - 1) You totally give up or 2) You work harder. (1st one being the most common route)
Personally, I like the progress. I like the process of learning the violin rather than the final result. I've been self learning violin for about 2.5 years now but I've never (NEVER) played before an audience. 99% of my friends and relatives doesn't even know I own a violin. Why? Because I'm not learning this to play in front of others, it's just pure passion in learning something so beautiful.
You might be trying to be a professional violinist so a little bit of competition is fine. But for the most part, don't even think about if you are doing good or not. Just play it. And feel it. Feel the music of that majestic piece of instrument.
(BTW a violin teacher whom I consulted online told me it could take 10-15 years to really master the violin -depending on the student- So you are in no hurry, you got a long time.)
I am a student that has played for 4 years and I don't sound that bad 🤣
I love how much you care about the Teachers.
The tip and the advertisement is such a good return in favor for their help to make contect for your channel.
The reasoni think it’s better is it evokes so much emotion not only from the listener, but from the musician as well. But beauty is always in the “eyes of the beholder!”……..and also the ears!

HI Rob, thank you for this! I laughed so hard I almost bust a gut. This was absolutely hilarious. I don't play violin but I absolutely love the sound of it and as an adult I think it is the most beautiful sounding instrument out there. Especially since traditional and modern Celtic music has become one of my favorite styles of music and the violin is an essential instrument for them. I used to be a clarinetist from 4th grade through to high school but haven't played any musical instruments in the last 35 years and just started to learn piano as it was a more reasonable instrument for me to start learning at my age, and I am loving it. Thanks again for this video and I plan on watching your other videos on this topic.

The tonal range, versatility and portability of the violin are truly functional. It would be a beautiful addition to a home for those who love to perform individually or as accompaniment. Personally, I love it’s place throughout history and the creative artistry by a gifted luthier.
The versatility of the violin is incredible. It can easily move from Bach to Bluegrass; not so with the bass. The piano is also versatile but not easily transported.

I honestly feel like the violin allows for not only emotional to show through, but you can make the song your dependent upon how long you hold the note. It takes (in my opinion) the emotions of a piano and converts it into a string instrument.
I believe that all instruments used to create music have equal value .They all bring enjoyment to the artists that love them and hopefully to the thankful public who listen.Thank you for giving us thirty years of your gift of music.

It’s the most Beautiful sound any instrument can produce. I just wish I could read notes. Great job and the tears was real. 😎

Violin is an instrument can melt anyone if you really know to play. Of course every instrument have its own advantage, like the drums for dance, guitar for energy and piano for melody etc. But the violin and flute can really melt the soul. And speciality with violin over flute is that because its a string instrument in can reach the frequency so quick and easy.
Its not for the give away violin. But this is how I feel about it.

I have no idea how this video showed up in my feed. This was fun to watch. I have loved the violin since I was 12 years old when I heard it for the first time at summer camp. I still remember clearly standing in the back of the chapel (it was standing room only) I don’t even remember if it was a man or a woman who was playing-the sweet music enveloped me and transported me somewhere else. I was embarrassed to realize I was crying and tried to make myself invisible. For some reason,I never pursued the violin. I played guitar in middle & highschool and college-like just about everyone else did in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. I’ll be 70 next month! I would love more than anything to learn to play! I know it takes a lifetime, but Hey! Grandma Moses didn’t start painting until she was 78! Maybe I have a few good years left?
I thought you were a professional violinist.
I didn’t know that you were also a professional actor.
Why not both
This deserves more like tbh
Ok it’s impressive how he makes it look so genuine, like in the first video where he did this there were some giveaways especially with the one tuning but In this one it seemed like a person who was new to the violin
The sound and vibration of the violin takes you further in to more complex sound and feel. I play by ear and can match the sound of everything with my voice, I have been able to recognize voices, urban sound, animals sounds, in college I won a contest where with a three second sound bite I identified the classical concerto. I love all the instruments in a symphony, how they bounce together, the violin has a whole section and brings a consistent feel and vibration that is very unique, the violin brings elegance, feel and passion and it can go in any direction, have two and three notes played at once. Sounds from other instruments are beautiful as well, however, the violin
I absolutely loved this format of video!! Please do more. 😃👍🏻

If i had lessons to take, i would learn with Jessica. She looks very patient and professional.
That serbian teacher was not disapointed its like everyone on balkan has that look on their face
bukvalno
It's that "I expect the worst out of every situation, but if it turns out to be better than that, it's a good day" look. Just like you said, all of the Serbs and Albanians I've met have it =D
The funniest thing about these "fake" lessons, is that every single person i've seen doing them can't break their training. The bow stays relatively straight, and position and posture stay good despite trying to play badly. And the best part is that the teachers almost always pick up on those things early on, especially on Ray Chen's video.
I was just saying. It is better if you really get into the head space of when you first started playing, and mimic that exactly. And play it out for awhile. It will be that much more surprising when you bust out with advanced playing. But everyone I seen can't contain it. Some just say they are new, but 30 seconds later have to show how good they are.
@@neaituppi7306 Is harder for a skilled person to play bad, than for a low skilled to play good...

Hi Rob, I think they're both pretty impressive to perform in with solos. The violin has the advantage of creating much more different colours of the music, while the piano is a bit limited in this area. However, the piano sounds as if it has a duet going on between the two hands and that's an advantage. I hope I could have my own Violin, Im just borrowing from a friend if I have spare time.😔
