Awesome playthrough! Thank you for sharing this with the community! ☄ I have found some small rule hiccups: - The gold card display is always filled up to 4 cards after every turn of every player (not only after the rest action). - WIlds do not have to be used with other cards-it is totally okay to only play 1 wild in your turn (without playing any other card for your movement). And then: The golden "Bait" cards are actually pretty strong-I was surprised that nobody took them! You can use them to fill "gaps" in your chain with the mammoth and turtle tokens which is pretty awesome!
Yeah, this VERY clear sentence on page 6 after the list of action choices "Then, refill the display of gold cards up to 4 face cards" kinda got pushed out of our minds later on page 8, under the REST action: "5. Refill the face up display of gold cards up to 4 cards (if the gold pile is depleted, the discard pile of the gold cards is shuffled face down to create a new draw pile." I think if this step *wasn't* there, it would have helped us remember to always refill regardless of what action someone took. But because it *was* there, it got "glued" to the Rest action in our minds.
It was lots of fun to watch you play Comet! For future plays: The Bait (and the Mammoth Rider & Tortoise Rider) don't only move their tokens, but also let you put the mammoth and tortoise tokens into play on any field if they aren't in play yet. So those cards shouldn't get "stranded" in the gold card display, because they are actually pretty useful at all times. Some heroes give you more generic effects and some are asking you more to build around them. Rescuing the right combination of animals (with synergistic abilities) in the right order can make a huge difference for the final score. Have fun exploring the world of Comet! 🐿🦎🦫🦖🦓
Yeah, that totally makes sense. And we absolutely should have interpreted it that way. The English rules, however, do not fully explain this, nor does the text on the card. Again, not saying we shouldn't have used these cards the more friendly way.
Lincoln, get bifocals! I got some purely because of playing board games and they are an absolute game changer, literally! I'd never go back. Great playthrough as usual 👍
As far as I know, there were never any dice involved in the game concept. The reason for there being no egg with a distance of 1 is that it would be right adjacent to the cave, which would both be too easy to save animals hatching on there and would also be a road block for other animals right before the cave, given that an empty nest can not easily be entered while moving.
We aren't sure if and when it is coming out in the US. We hope us featuring it might get it picked up soon if it isn't already. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek ok thanks Lincoln! Love watching all of the videos u guys make..I saw this game advertised on funtails I think the website it’s called and was wondering if that’s a ligit site and if they can ship to US?
At 52:44 when Lincoln saves the Christmas island rat he takes a silver card from the discard pile...but the card clearly states "When this card hatches..."
Oh, simple but fun, well designed and with good visuals! These are the kind of games I love seeing on this channel
Hi there! Really happy you like the game and especially my artwork! Greetings from the whole Funtails Team!
Any word on a US release? I really would like to buy this game but not sure I can afford the 50% shipping to the US.
I like the start player is closest to a dinosaur (think that might be me in our house), great job on getting that last one in Nikki wow!

Had received my copy last thursday. Going to play tomorrow. Greetings from Holland

Looks like a nice simple game.
That distribution between 2 and 12 really screams "roll two D6". I suppose that was a mechanic that was dropped during development.

@@hanshoh9680 Ah, so it is the distance from the cave. That makes sense of course.
Has it been released yet? If so where can I get it? It’s not on Amazon

Isn't there a cartoon movie with this theme?
It reminds me of the Ice Age serie.
