Mariah looks so nervous in this interview but she brave it out!
She’s nervous because she never identified as black

@Journeyto159 She’s actually identified as Black.

I'm fully black and I have always loved Mariah I wouldn't care if she was purple. I been a big fan since she came on the scene in the early 90s . ❤️
@nayong6764 her voice is the most important thing
This gave me a whole new respect for Mariah. Seriously. This is the REAL MARIAH. She's so strong. This woman been through so much. I'm excited for the book. Her songs are gonna hit differently now because now we know the real story behind some of them. This woman will forever be a gem.
Her mother is Caucasian/Irish-American and her father is Black of Black-American and Afro-Venezuelan families she’s said this so many times
Has this been confirmed that the quarter Venezuelan side is "Afro-Venezuelan" cause she is very light skinned I am guessing the Quarter Venezuelan ancestry "if black" was already biracial exotical extremely light skinned "black" who identify as afro-Venezuelan
@@hellohola6198Her father is Black American And Afro Venezuelan. Why does it matter to you so much. Black is a color, it doesn’t define human beings. People of African descent come in many shades and features and has very good genetics being the most diverse people on the planet. Your brain is limited. Educate yourself on how genetics work and then maybe you can answer your own question. Mariah has said that her father is Black many times and that her grandmother is Afro Venezuelan.
@@hellohola6198 As a light skinned biracial person myself, your comment is offensive and ignorant. Yes her father is AFRO-Venezuelan. She’s light skinned because her mother is white, duh. My mother is white and my father is black and AFRO-Dominican. And I’m just as light as Mariah. Goodbye.
I applaud MC for mentioning her rejection from her “black side”. Us biracial ppl can never be black enough nor white enough to ever really fit in. Just because we don’t look Black/White doesn’t mean our voice shouldn’t be heard. It really upsets me when I see regular people claiming very famous biracial ppl (that they 100% belong in their community) once they’re famous, when they were rejected by the same community before their fame.
Thanks for your honesty.
It's funny you went straight to Black people rejecting her when she stated she was jumped by a bunch of white girls. Not once did Mariah mentioned being physically attacked by black people. Mariah stated she was raised by her white Mother meaning she dealt with racism mostly from her white peers. Collectively speaking, most biracials are accepted more from the black side than the white side. History can back this up.
@@Shinemodel Omgosh I know what it’s like not to fit in on EITHER SIDE. Many ppl have heard about how white ppl respond to biracial ppl, but we don’t hear about how the black side treats us. I was beaten up by at least 6 little black girls in my childhood because I had “better hair” than them. They pulled my hair and told me I was wearing a weave. Your response is exactly why ppl like me find It really hard to open up about not being accepted in the black community.
@@Shinemodel I am not choosing sides and I am not saying one is worse than the other. I’m simply speaking my truth from my experiences and observations. Every culture has it’s good & bad. Just listen instead of getting all defensive.
@@Shinemodel that might be partially true, but we are not 100% considered as one of you depending on how black/white we look. I know because I’ve been there.
Everybody deserves to be happy. Mariah Carey does too.
The story of most biracial children unless the mother is Black you will hear this story over and over again and you see it as well. That puff on the top of their heads or hair all over the place. I give Kim Kardashian credit she took herself to a hairstylist and learned to do their hair. People love the upside of things but don’t want to admit the downside of them. Doja Cat has said the same things as well.
Very true! Those babies walk around looking CRAZY because mom is clueless! Mariah was made to look that way ON PURPOSE and I’m glad her daughter won’t have to go through that👊🏿 These chicks now don’t have an excuse but being idiots because there are resources! You can go online for everything but ideas for caring for your baby’s hair❓I would die before having a mixed baby with neglected hair (as beautiful as hers)😩😩WTF❓She’s always said everyone was clueless to her hair and she was never really maintained💔
True. It helps when the white mother is immersed in the black culture and have friends and family who help them with styling. But many of them are clueless.
John Edwards she’s talking about curly hair and we are discussing those who do have curly hair .
John Edwards Of course! The thing is, I’m not gonna treat my baby’s hair like some door mat to just be ignored either! She’s always said “nobody could do my hair” and I can’t imagine because her hair has always been dreamy to me, but that shit is universal! Her baby would never be made to walk around looking like shit👊🏿
Most biracial people have type 3 hair so it’s okay to not style it it’s just curls everywhere as it should be
She's not 50, she's 12
