    There is no short cuts
If you continue to break the law of biomechanics eventually you will end up in a bad way
    The law will always win

Another great clip… I always learn some new pearl from each interview. It’s so important for people to truly understand that controlling motion is the same goal for everyone but exactly how that gets done is unique to that person. There is no one way to get out of pain, it must be tailored to the individual after assessment.

Hello Brian, I'm writing in regards to a mild to moderate lower back pain that I've been dealing with on and off for the past 9 years after an injury I got from falling on my tailbone while skateboarding. I was 21 at the time, and the fall left me with an acute pain in my lower back, which turned into a chronic lower back pain. I had gone for an MRI at the time, and was diagnosed with an L4-L5 disc protrusion which has been giving me sciatica for quite some time, and an L5-S1 bulging disc, along with mild stenosis, mild disc degeneration, mild retrolisthesis, and mild arthritis. I've done PT before in the past, but nothing really helps with the inflammation that I always get from back flexion, shifting my hips, and when I contract my lower back muscles. I'm a fairly active 30 year old, and don't let it prevent me from lifting or doing activities, the only issue that I've been having are from flare ups which have been lasting me weeks and my doctor told me that there's nothing that I can really do about it besides pain medication, or cortisone injections. Would you happen to have any advice on how I should go about dealing with this situation, or if the McGill method would be applicable to my situation? Thanks in advance, and for the informative content.

Both of these wonderful men saved my life, I followed up all their advice and I'm pain free and almost back to normal again. It was hard work, but the end result was astounding, I feel like my back is getting stronger than before.

I know walking is a very big part of your progression, but one of my major pain triggers is walking, usually after 50 to 100 yards. So how can I get out there and start walking?

Many with stenosis have this problem and or compression intolerance or other. We have to get together and explore. You can email me - brian@powerrackstrength.com

Make sure your gait is correct, land on your forefoot instead of your heel it's less harsh on your joints and get some barefoot shoes because normal ones are terrible for your health and longevity. Also fix your posture by strengthening any muscular imbalances and improving mobility with stretches. Weaknesses cause other muscle groups to overcompensate and tight muscles can shorten over time and really affect biomechanics. Just make sure you progress at a pace you can handle so you don't injure yourself, make sure to stay consistent, don't do too much volume, don't neglect recovery or your body can't heal and adapt and make sure your nutrition is good. Happy to answer any questions.

@@BrianCarroll1306 I'd be here all day if I tried to fit everything into one comment that's why I said feel free to ask questions. This is a good place to start and will go a long way to making improvements though. It's also important not to overwhelm people when they're just beginning, they'll pick up things as they go along anyway if they're serious about it.
