Legion are damned good, but I think they will get a bit of a showing to on the convenient where they wont (or maybe they will...fingers crossed) have the firepower to rule the last 3 laps on the front and the bros are just one of 10 people who are a good enough to take the win.

  • @yannickokpara4861
    @yannickokpara4861 3 года назад +48

    I'm just gonna say it. There's no way around it. Glen needs to work on holding the wheels and sticking close in the draft. He accelerates so many times just because he was freewheeling more than needed in the lead-in and through corners and also being a bit too optimistic when he is almost caught up to a rider or a group and it ends up costing him when they pick up the pace again

    • @yannickokpara4861
      @yannickokpara4861 3 года назад +2

      @@andarenbici Oh I ment in general. Not so much specifically in the end. I don't think the narrowness of the course has much to do with it. It's just that he stops pedalling before he is fully caught up to the wheel and/or starts pedalling again later than everyone else. As for the end you are probably right that he could not have done anything in terms of the junior. Other than having pretty spent legs he was a marked man so going early wasn't really an option. Also from what I remember Glen is a pretty big guy and looking at his sprint power I guess it's not terribly surprising that he might get outsprinted by someone else when we are talking A-grade. I feel like maybe he should've put more effort into getting to a reduced group with less sprinters as his strength lies elsewhere.

    • @maguilecutty
      @maguilecutty 3 года назад +4

      @@yannickokpara4861 he is deliberately letting the wheel go a bit to in order not to brake going into the corners and considering the braking/slowing down into the corners of the other riders. That, and the inconsistency in power of those pulling on the front...

    • @yannickokpara4861
      @yannickokpara4861 3 года назад +1

      @@maguilecutty Yea but he is grossly miscalculating the need to do that. The gap is much bigger than you need to be able to do your own line/not bump into the others and he should have found out after doing it several times that he is losing from it every time. As for the inconsistency in power it is not like you don't expect people to ramp up the power out of a corner. Being the only guy not on a wheel just means you'll be working that much harder.

    Everywhere is different.. Since it rains every day in Holland they make the roads porous. The rain sinks through the road, and you get excellent grip. If you then ride in the south of France/Italy/Spain oil comes off cars and is collected on the roads for months. The roads are normal and not porous. When it rains in the south, the oil floats on the top of the water on the road. That makes everything very slippery and possible to crash going around a corner at 15 miles per hour. That is why if you watch the Tour de France you will sometimes see riders crash going slowly. That will never happen in Holland. Holland = excellent roads, but with the amount of road furniture, there are still a ton of broken bones. Collarbones sticking out of shirts....
