- Welcome to my channel. In this video I customize a Zylmex Chevy Stepside Truck circa 1979 in the style of a rusty old farm truck lugging around a tractor tire.

Nice dude 😎 thanks for the link too👍🏼
Yeah, that really was a disaster! It looks very good and now you can see the panel lines with that thick paint gone. Excellent weathering and just a great tutorial. Thanks for sharing your hard work on this.
Lotsa tlc in the bumper, tailgate & window. Excellent weathering & details. Love the monster truck wheel too.
Great truck Danny, I can imagine being with my father and brothers and heading off to go fishing down by the riverside. Thanks for the videos, they're like therapy for me.I
I have a whole box of Zylmex cars. Some of the castings are pretty nice. Thanks for the videos.
Reminds me of childhood farm trucks where I grew up in rural NC, USA. Thanks foe the great video!
Great transformation and looks the part on the farm heavy usage and old age showing ....
Amazing creativity..mud stains on the tractor tire would have added extra details..still a great build all in all..excellent job..👌👍
Love it Danny, king of the weathering technique.
I'm biased towards your videos where you weather and rust the hell out of them since I'm heavily into Gaslands and your videos are excellent inspiration (and quite relaxing too). Keep it up!
Your weathering techniques are outstanding as usual mate. Great job
Brilliant. Your attention to detail is superb.
Danny, your work is always beyond impressive. This one in particular is a masterpiece!
Great job it turned out really nice I grew up around farms and that model is spot on.👍👍😊
I love this rust effect. Great Job 👍
Great job as usual, needing my Mad Max fix from you!
Great job on the authentic looking chevy truck that has worked along time job well done
Great job! I've been picking up these Zylmex cars when I find them, a lot are copies of other manufacturers castings.
Love it mate, great job. The Zylmex’s are often really nice old castings.
Looks just like the truck my father used to make his tow truck when I was a kid (around 1983). I may have to hunt up one of these Zylmex Chevys and reconstruct it in scale.
Great work!
A true work of art, Chevy is beautiful, greetings friend
Looks really good. Most of those old trucks in my area look like that and still go for quite a chunk of change.
Wow, I didn't think there was any hope for this truck. But you turned it into something unique as usual. I love your channel and I have got so many awesome tips from you. I have only been doing my own customs for about four months now and each one gets alitte better than the last. So thank you for videos they are inspiring.
Looks pretty authentic Danny. 👍😉
Awesome as always Danny, looks that good I can smell the hay 👍
funky
Nicely done. I’d like to see farmer John get that wheel outa the pick up. Maybe just back up real fast and then slam the brakes on! 😂. See ya next time.
Once again good work, the method you use for the patina is very effective.
I’ve got a suggestion for you, if you wish to continue exploring the farm truck style, perhaps maybe cut the bed off something to create a flat bed / tray back. I was in a rural part of the USA last month and noticed quite a few trucks with that conversion.
You done a great job Danny well done
My dad had a 69' c10 standard longbed farm truck almost exactly this same color except it had the large white bar stripe down each side and roof.
Any American step side truck made before the 90’s had metal finders. Very cool as I have said before I’ve drove trucks that looked just like that 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻
Top job Danny, looks much better than it did now! I had a few Zylmex cars as a kid, they were a bit hit and miss, some had the metal base like this one and were fairly sturdy, while others were more like the late plastic base Corgis and fairly flimsy in comparison.
I kind of like the way they built that truck. I like the solid piece underneath the bed. Very nice job. Beautiful truck now. Not meaning that it's beautiful shiny but beautiful job doing it.
Great weathering !
Hi, I have one like this in my collection since a long long time, I was looking to do a kind of hot rod look to it.
I really like what you did to it, good job 👍🏻
Gonna have to nickname you Gold Finger lol. Great job.
Absolutely fantastic.
Zylmex are ALSO the only roughly matchbox sized company to ever make a true Crown school bus casting, they went with the duel rear axles. I prefer the single, but they ARE the only people that ever even made one. I had one as a kid, found it for a few cents in a Goodwill. Now I'm kicking myself in the ass for ever losing the damn thing.
You did a great job.
I really love your weathering and rusting technique, Danny! And I appreciate you doing a Zylmex/Zee. I used to have these besides the Hot Wheels and Matchboxes and Playarts. Maybe you can find a Playart vehicle to restore or customize sometime? BTW, I love the music you use for the "final reveal" as it were.
Doug If I were a betting man I would say a playart vehicle might be arriving on Danny’s doorstep in the very near future.
Really nice build
You should do a video dedicated on just the customized pickup trucks you done.
Amazing work danny, looks great.
Nice custom Danny, well done!....Bill
Sensacional, muito bem detalhado o trabalho, muito bom gosto e maravilhosa miniatura recuperada.
EXCELLENT JOB DANNY ☆☆☆☆☆
Awesome work , as always ... Very KOOOOLL..... Mike Espo..
Hiya Danny its jenny and the cats. You've done it again i love what you've done with this car. Its really different but good. I love the whole rust effect its clever how you have done it. 😸
You will notice one of my Rex's making a cameo
@@DannysDiecastDisasters how many rexs have you got i uaed to have one but she died at 17 ive just got my sphinx a balanaase and 5 moggies all of which are rescues. I never understand people throwing out cats. My cats are sitting on me watching all the videos ive usually got at least 4 cats sat on me at any point in time and they all sleep on my bed at night. Not much room for me. 😸😸😸😸😸

This generation of Chevy truck had metal wheel wells
I like this and yes I had a few of these Zylmex diecast cars as a kid
Danny's Crusty Creations, New name .lol.Nice job
Great job.
Great job on the farm truck it reminds me of a game called destroy humans that came out on the PS2 and Xbox and there's a farming truck that looks like that you wore a alien that crash landed in Earth and you have to find parts to fix your spaceship if you own a PS2 you should buy that game it's a really fun game and great job on the pickup truck
The wheels You chose look really good on this
Cool pick up!!
There you go Danny finally yep rusted up some GM products LOL! That turned out awesome my friend keep up the good work!
How do you mushroom the axles, when you make your own? I love all your builds and it’s giving me ideas on how I could do my own, as I get into doing them more. Just getting started on customizing them.
Love your channel, found 1 you might be interested in its Jakarta diecast product he gets into a lot of detail
Yeah he does awesome work. I don't really enjoy doing the modern cars or race cars tbh. I admire the ones who do it so well.
Excellent!
Love the Rust/Rims. Finish ma' chores n' go find me a Candy Cane!
From crusticated to rusticated... We have one of these in fairly good nick - with its flames sticker intact. Yours is missing the brown tonneau for the bed.
You need an influx of influx of cars soon
that yr would have had metal rear fenders/wheel wells, it looks to be a 60s/70s c10, the fiberglass wheel wells didn't appear until the late 80's i believe
Dang I should have rusted them more lol
Magnificent. :)
Awesome looks very good would I be able to sand in a car if so let me know how
My address is in the description 👍
the rust effect is really cool! I am wondering what's up with the windows?
You should do something big again, maybe with more as just one vehicle
Nice!
could you do the rust effect on a hotrod then gloss lacquer over the top so it actually looks like a paint job with shiny chrome and wheels
I have done a few Rat Rods which is pretty much this
Cool
Very nice job 😎
I think this kind of trucks were common sight on midwest U.S.
Is that red tractor on the end Tomica or Playart?
Just interested, because im such a tractor nerd and collecting some toy tractors also.
Good spotting its a Tomica
@@DannysDiecastDisasters Ok Thanks!
get truck danny wish I coujd do that
Love your videos. Give me ideas for myself. I want to do a video myself but don’t know how to edit it. What software do you use or need to edit videos on your phone. I don’t have a computer
I like these old truck custom 👍 ,but you do them too often 🙂
From shabby to customise shabby
sweet. tried emailing you back but didn't work. I suck at techy stuff I'll try again
How much is it to have something like that done ??
Looks awful Danny. Great job.
Not really a fan of the rusty truck style
. You do get a good result. One thing I must mention is your windshield wiper tracks. They should go in the reverse direction with the driver's side having the straight edge at the window post.
hope no one will paint it again
Whisper it softly but this looks better than matchbox garage's effort who did a resto custom.

With the body curing? It's sitting right there in the upper left of the shot UNPAINTED. You obviously cut the shots out of sequence when you edited the video. If you want us to buy your sequential narrative, next time make sure there isn't something in the shot that betrays your real sequence. 😉
Obviously its edited.
@@DannysDiecastDisasters I SAID it was edited in my comment. I was only commenting on the fact that you SAID you were going to work on the base while the body cured. But the unpainted body was actually IN the shot. I simply mentioned the incongruity, that's all.
I catch old movies out like that all the time. You know, like when you see someone from the front and their shirt's tucked. Then the camera switches to a back shot and it's untucked. Then back to the front again and it's tucked again. There are small inconsistencies like that in a lot of shows and movies. It's just that, being OCD, things like that tend to stand out to me.
