To avoid noticing how thick the ribbing is on the sides of the camper body ,and they are THICK, detailing it with color stripes does wonders. That and the truck rusty spots and roof details on the top really helps in improving this model. Well done Danny!
This old Camper Truck turned out nice it looks at home there in the diarama. The streets in the U.S.A. are filled with Rigs like this Homeless people are everywhere here.
A very excellent custom restoration. The amount of work to make it look in urgent need of restoration was a real eye opener. I would normally have no time for a rusty heap of bolts but the work is so skillfully executed that I think it looks very appealing. Full of great ideas and creativity. Keep up the good work.
A few weeks ago when you did the Torino I told the story of seeing the real "Starsky and Hutch" car back in 1977 when my father and I drove from upstate NY to California.....Funny thing is we drove those miles in a 1976 Ford F150 with a camper cap just like this one...His truck was Lime green.....!! Great job SIr
Really nice model. I was not aware Matchbox made a version of the Courier, let alone one with s camper. So the Courier was basically a rebadged Mazda. If you are not familiar the Mazda is about the same size as a Toyota Hilux. The camper "mod" is not a mod but a slide in unit that usually just sits in the back and is not permanently attached. They typically made these campers to fit in 3/4 ton pickups. A half ton pickup is usually not strong enough to carry a "slide in" as we like to call them here in the states. They did make these for mini trucks but they were made very light and stripped of ammenities so it did not overburden the truck.
Top job on the camper Danny, it truly does look like the few surviving examples do now! A friend of the family used to own an 82 model Mazda B2200 with a slide on camper like this back in the 80's.
There was room on the floor for you to sleep? 😆 These things are usually little more than a hamster cage, we had one with roll-out sides, and it was still tiny.
My grandpa on my mom's side had one of these Ford couriers no camper though I learned how to fish riding around in that truck I loved you take nice work
Very nice customizing, with i think a little to much rust on the car. The camper looks great with all the details, additional stuff, the roofrack and of course the windows! With them the camper look so much better. Now you need a little "Camping-Diorama" ! somewhere in the forests or desertplains of the USA.
This is a wonderful little project! The details are so well done, especially on such a tiny casting! Love the windshield wiper effect on the windscreen! Just a delight!
One rather important piece to note for this style of bed camper would be for crank Jack's on each corner of the box, that raised the bed while the truck slides in it, that you could add using toothpick or gauge wire bar, there could even be one missing because Grandpa never took it out once he put it in the truck. also the rear axles could be bent upwards slightly to simulate the heavy load on the bed, as was common with large camper boxes meant for full size trucks placed on compact Imports.
Good stuff, I certainly do appreciate this style. And it just so happens I’m very interested in small pick up trucks at the moment so it does appeal to me.
Great job! I have that camper new in the box, I like yours much better. I guess you didn't need to clean up the bed rails or detail those taillights, however.
I don't usually like rusty cars, but that's only in real life and real cars. This looks great and that rust looks pretty realistic, like that camping-stuff what you put to the roof 😀 Good work again!
Beautiful detail excellent use of scavenge parts. I just noticed that you happen to paint the stripe over the spare tire unfortunately. You _could_ say that it had a $299.99 MAACO paint job, done sometime in the early 90s, and they over sprayed. However Grandpa liked it so much that he kept it, cuz a little lipstick on a pig don't hurt none... Oh nevermind you add a good tire on the back, 😂
I have one of those trucks without the camper bit on in my junk box of cars to do up, always wondered why it had that odd bit on the roof it obviously makes sense now that the camper is missing lol.
Do you really want to know what I think of the custom you just did????...... I absolutely😠😠😠😌😌😳😍😍😍 LOVE IT! Man I wish I could do somthing like that. Grate job. Like always.
What’s up with the airplane ✈️ flying by in the background? Amazing, love it, I would take it camping, and the ending that scenery really fit the truck 🔥🤘🏻
Dodgy grandads PTSD truck looks great I've tried to turn this casting into a pick up 3 times by grinding the post off of the roof epic fail each time, some things are just not meant to be
Cut it off down to about 2mm and then use a bastard file to cleanly remove the rest, then put tape on the inside of the roof and fill the hole with JB Weld or Steel Putty, then sand off smooth when dry. It isn't perfect, but with a good coat of primer it will turn out 98%. Your best bet is to start out with a Mazda Repu truck, and avoid this casting altogether. 😄
Man all the older vehicles in New Zealand must all be Rustbuckets. Bad Salt Air? Although all the Ford Courier's all rusted away here too on the East coast. You could probably still find a few in the warmer dry states like New Mexico, Arizona And California.
@@DannysDiecastDisasters Yea the winters here with all the salt that gets put down for snow/ice puts a serious hurting on vehicles .either way very cool custom
I guess I'll be on that plane you had fly over I'll have to have a word with you if you keep rusting up my Ford's LOL throw a Chevy in there once in awhile Danny! Great job my friend turned out beautiful the Ford Courier what's the predecessor to the Ford Ranger just for your information!
my taste does not run to rusty old... I prefer restoration or restoration plus, not beat up and old looking. You do nice work, but not all of it is my thing.

Danny, as I have said before .... It is all that detail work that really makes your restos or customs stand out. Great job on this one as always !!

I have not worked with rusting and weather powders but this is really good for the affect you wanted
Remember seeing these around years ago. Another excellent job.
GREAT custom! I love the sound of the music at the end! 👍😁✌🚙
Nice one Danny, your attention to detail is beyond belief.
My Paternal Grandpa had a green/white tu-tone GMC/Chevy pickup with a camper as well!
Top job on the camper Danny, it truly does look like the few surviving examples do now! A friend of the family used to own an 82 model Mazda B2200 with a slide on camper like this back in the 80's.
I lived in one of these for three months on a summer in Alaska with my grandpa. I got to sleep on the floor. You even got the colors right. Haha
There was room on the floor for you to sleep? 😆 These things are usually little more than a hamster cage, we had one with roll-out sides, and it was still tiny.
Looks great Danny
You build some really nice custom built models
This might be my favorite build you've done!
I would totally go camping in that beast! And I am digging the reveal style
Outlaw Speed Shop I liked the photos at the end too the scenery made that truck pop 🔥👍🏻
Brilliant. Really like the paraphernalia on top and the ladder and spare tyre. Great touches.
My grandpa on my mom's side had one of these Ford couriers no camper though I learned how to fish riding around in that truck I loved you take nice work

Us kids used to ride up in the overhead when we went camping.
Looks great!
Wow! Fantastic! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Super deluxe build. Excellent rust, weathering & details. Cool montage at the end. Sweet video. Destino Liebana.
Great wheels, rusted to match.
I especially like the door handles

Another masterpiece Danny. Great work as always.
It looks great .
Rusty cars are not my thing, but all the details look great. Love the roof rack
My father had a 2nd gen Courier that he used as daily driver. Never put a camper on it though. Good job.
Damn Danny, you did it again! You're the king of detail👌
Beautiful Ford stayed, greetings friend
Man that looks amazing you earned a subscriber from all the work and creative restorations
Great job, details are fantastic.

Wow! This came out amazing!
Excellent job..👍👌
Once again Danny great work.
Great job! Love it.
Great realism! Coat hanger aerial would be interesting and for some reason that I can't quite remember a toe hitch with a dog lead but no dog!!!???lol
Looks neat! Always had a weak-spot for old rusty beaters. :D
Awesome....congrats!!
Awesome possum, senor.

Love it Danny, I found some 3d printed camper shells on eBay, trying one on a custom fleetside!

Wieder toll geworden, gute Idee und klasse Umsetzung
Absol-ute bea-ute-y!
Dodgy grandads PTSD truck looks great I've tried to turn this casting into a pick up 3 times by grinding the post off of the roof epic fail each time, some things are just not meant to be
I recently did the Open Back Truck, its basically the same one sans the terrible post.
@@DannysDiecastDisasters I never noticed the similarities I guess I'm going to have to get me one of those and save myself a fair bit of stress

Seems to my your collection of aged and "new" vehicles could be put together to make a great diorama of a small town main street.
I have a challenge for you, Danny.make a custom beetle into Boss Hogg's nephew Huey Hogg's white on white bug

You sure wouldn't get a warrant of fitness with any rust in your car here.

That's wicked, however, the axe is a little on the large side?! ;-)
my cousin has one of these...

I know, right? Always rusting up the Fords... Doesn't he know that's a Dodge and Chevy thing? 😁😁😁
Do they still make them in England?
Creepy grandpas stabbin cabin.

😄😄😄 :::hiccup::: 😄😄😄
Hey man very good one love the video love the work but I think it's a Toyota not a ford keep them coming 😉👍👍👍
Could you do somthing like that. But in a Mexican garner's, land scaping type truck? Maybe with a trailer?
Hey Danny mate, where does the name yute come from?🤔
Ute, utility vehicle 👍
Of course mate 🙄what a dummy I am 😂
Grandads!

I would do campers nice
