The sound demos sound better on your video than even Alesis' promo. I went to a 20" bass on my conversion kit and it feels better than any pad Ive tried including a Roland kp-140.
Yeah, the same thing I was surprised about! I wonder how they did this. (lowering pad gain/sensitivity settings maybe? It sounds less processed, maybe they're not playing on the top velocity layers now) Sounds great, this kit!
Yep, once the few issues are resolved, going to sell/trade my Yamaha Tour Customs, Zildjian K's and A's, and Roland TD-17KVX kit to get this. Almost knocked it out of the park first try.
yeah, biggest upgrade (not including module ) is 360 triggering cymbals. but yeah! if this module come to selling byitself, im gonna upgrade my se module to that!
You can play cross stick like normal. Might just have to adjust the trigger settings slightly maybe raise the threshold on the head zone. Worked fine on the strike like normal too.
Wow, just wow. I was sold on this kit as I just watched several other reviews, and just assumed it must have Bluetooth audio in. As why would you build such a monster drum module with every feature every drummer has ever wanted in one, built in VST samples, a 10.1 inch touch screen & even Bluetooth, but leave out the ability to pipe in music to jam to?!!! Bluetooth audio in & being able to connect your phone & jam to music, is FAR more important than Bluetooth out for sending the drum audio out to any device. As anyone sending audio out would likely be doing so for recording & they would go with a direct line connection. Not Bluetooth. Unreal... Did I really just hear that correctly? You CAN'T hook up & play music from your phone?!
@fartpooboxohyeah8611 That is not an option - these are analogue audio outs! So you must go from digital -> analogue -> digital - in my opinion that is messy ...
The module is next level, but the kit as a whole has too many issues to consider buying. I think Alesis has stepped up their game with this kit, and they are heading in the right direction for more professional e-kits, but for the money, I think there are better brands with fewer issues that are much better. I think in the future, as Alesis improves and address all the issues and fixes them, they may become a brand worth considering. My view on Alesis is that most of their kits are budget friendly for home practice, but they have not stepped up their game enough to use any of their kits in a band situation live on stage. The Alesis Strara Prime kit does have better recorded sounds than any of their other kits, but sadly, playability and the issues many reviewrs found with this kit keeps Alesis out of the game for me as an e-kit brand I would concider buying. In the future, I think Alesis will get better. they are just clearly not there yet. I do feel that with the new kits, Alesis comes out with does fix issues of the previous kit, but then they rush the kit out for sale without enough testing and tweeking to make their kits as good as some of the competition. With how many Strata Prime kits Alesis has sent out to reviewers, makes me think that Alesis thinks this is the e-kit. Sadly, I think this kicked Alesis in the ass as the reviewers do point out what is good with the kit, but they all have found too many cons and issues with the kit that for the price the kit is not worth buying or even considering. Shame on Alesis for this. They are close to a perfect kit, but they are just clearly not there yet.
The Mimic still blows this away. You can load up full Superior Drummer (or any other software) soundsets with the free sample loading utility, works with ANY manufacturer's pads, and has 14 direct outs for professional work, i.e. sending everything out individually to a mixer/recorder. The strata is great for home/producer use, but the lack of outputs are not good for pro live use.
why is there always something not quite right with alesis...do they even ask drummers what they need....its not like they are new to the scene....my god. ..totally annoying
That seemed strange to me at first, but percussion kits are also sold without hardware. Perhaps the idea is most drummers will be upgrades and already have those items. They are also a bit subjective. Brand and single/double bass pedals are preference items. Same for HH stands and thrones. So yeah, I get it. That's a lot of money but compared to percussions kits it is not bad even with the necessary add-ons. If that's a deal breaker than this kit is probably not right for you or me or whomever.
10/10 on the Deftones "Digital Bath" sounds at the end!

I'm wondering if the lack of crosstick sensing is another Roland patent hurdle?

I believe blue-tooth audio is now operational.
Can you get a cowbell sound?
So how would you fix the blue tooth problem if you wanted to play along with songs
Not sure why they made the toms so shallow on this one?
The module would be a great upgrade for a Strike Pro SE kit, the pads look very similar
yeah, biggest upgrade (not including module ) is 360 triggering cymbals. but yeah! if this module come to selling byitself, im gonna upgrade my se module to that!
The lack of bluetooth audio and crosstick issues will be deal breakers for many..
There is Bluetooth audio, confirmed in the GC review.
You can play cross stick like normal. Might just have to adjust the trigger settings slightly maybe raise the threshold on the head zone. Worked fine on the strike like normal too.
cross stick is really not a big deal for me.. it's an electric kit tons of other things you can do on acoustic that aren't going to be possible either
there is a "learn crosstalk" feature
@@arctus35stick not talk
Will the module be available without the kit and will pads, hihats and cymbals from other manufacturers work with the module?
that'll be another thing that prob wont match up 🙄
Thank I’m thinking on getting this thanks
Bluetooth is coming to it in a firmware update.
Second groove sounded a little like digital bath by deftones.

NO digital audio out is a no go today! So as long as Alesis do not implement this in the modules I will have to go to other brands!

If Alesis stepped up it's durability, they'd be amazing... But the internals are always so cheap

They Downgraded from 8 Outputs to half, only 4!!! No DAW integration 😢
@fartpooboxohyeah8611That's anemic for pro use, which I don't think this kit is designed for. The Pearl Mimic has 14 outs.
Roland flagships and Pearl Mimic Pro just got waaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced
They always were overpriced and this strata kit is also overpriced , I would prefer the efnote 3x that is cheaper with better hardware triggering SD3
Efnote 3x has better hardware, BUT the super sensitive bells of the strata cymbals are a joy to play!
Can't find the Pearl mimic pro anywhere now. And the ones I find want gold for it now 😒

I see zero need for a kick that size
why is there always something not quite right with alesis...do they even ask drummers what they need....its not like they are new to the scene....my god. ..totally annoying
This is useless. They reduced the number of outputs.. so dumb. I was ready to buy until I saw that. Sticking with Yamaha.
Imagine paying 4500 US dollars for this and having to also buy a hi hat stand and kick pedal ☠️
