Affalterbach. With the new CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet
, Mercedes-AMG is sharpening its product portfolio and redefining the entry-level
performance coupé segment. The sporty, elegant two-door model combines the best of two worlds: the agility
and sportiness of the C-Class with the space and status of the E-Class. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine
with double charging via an exhaust gas turbocharger and an electric additional compressor has been
thoroughly modified and produces now 330 kW (449 hp). It provides a maximum torque of 560 Nm (with
over-boost of 600 Nm for 12 seconds). The integrated starter generator briefly supplies an additional 17 kW (23 hp) of power and 205 Nm of torque. It also feeds the 48-volt on-board electrical system. Other technical features of the new model include the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive.
Typical visual identifying features of a coupé are the long hood embedded in the front end with two powerful power domes. The strongly sloping windshield and the elongated roof that slopes towards the rear also reference this. The passenger cell, which is set far back, leads to the sporty, short rear via the rear window,
which is also flat.

NEW Mercedes Benz CLE 53 Cabriolet can do 0-60 mp/h [0-100 km/h] in 4.2 seconds.
The Mercedes Benz CLE 53 Cabriolet top speed VMAX is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) but with the AMG Driver Package 270 km/h (168 mph)

I can’t understand why Mercedes ditched red as a colour. I had a W204 in red with 18” AMG alloys and it regularly got compliments on the fact ir was red! The metallic red just doesn’t cut it in my opinion

Never read something this dumb. The front bumpers and grill need to be plastic due to pedestrian safety. This car is developed in germany and that's also the reason why the cybertruck is banned here
That's fantastic. I am glad that Mercedes and AMG have come to their senses and started to offer a V6 and hopefully a V8 in future as well.
The inline 4 cylinder + electric motors are a nice idea, but something is profoundly missing without a V8. I am sure there is a market for the 4 cylinders, but the serious clients that want an AMG, they look for a V8. With the legendary sound. Bring back the 2008-2015 V8 sound. That was the best of the best.
Why would you want a V6 when you could have a naturally balanced Inline Six which Mercedes builds?

Surprised you can see cables and gears, in the underside of the panel which covers the roof, when the roof is going up and down.

I’m just sad there’s the rev limiter, and that you can’t really fully show off the car. It shows it’s not a true AMG and there’s not 63 option yet so we’re stuck here and I’m so down for this this car but not the 53 version.

Note the leg room between the left rear passenger seat, and the driving seat (presumably adjusted for the driver?!) - Basically NONE!
Unless you're likely to be always transporting one able-bodied person and two double amputees, those are not really rear seats.
Why don't Mercedes/AMG (and all other car manufacturers for that matter,) come clean and describe it as a two-seater with an upholstered parcel shelf?
Or preferably, why doesn't someone design a cabriolet/convertible that's actually DESIGNED to carry FOUR normal sized people?

Why wouldn’t you show how hideous the car looks with the wind deflector above the windshield activated? Other then that, it’s a beautiful car but the wind deflectors on the most Mercedes convertibles is ugly…Very surprised you wouldn’t show that

The German car makers have been in decline for years. They are pumping out some of the worst junk in the world. They are probably the most unreliable cars I have ever seen. They have made engineered obsolescence their main driver in car production. You pretty much have a major repair bill the day after the warranty expires.
This model looks absolutely horrible comparing to the last model, the back look like is Chinese knock off the seats are nice but the front screens look like Tesla they don't have sun shade like a previous model the whole inside looks like randomly placed item, the inside looks more like a game simulator, ugly air vents, the whole shape of the car is pretty good, what what's the point if you cannot enjoy the inside, the sun glare will be such a big problem not mentioning fingerprint marks everywhere, I have a previous model and I have to wipe it down every time I'm driving, if I had this car I would never open the roof so nobody can see how ridiculous it looks inside
