I absolutely love those long gloves. They really add a level of charm and class and elegance to any outfit especially when the gloves are color coordinated with the outfit. Great job!!
Thank you so much! ^_^
@@KirileeCosplayAm I able to use a non stretchy fabric like faux fur or something?
I’m getting into vintage reproduction/imitation and I can’t thank you enough!!! I’m passionate about recycling clothes and the ability to make matching gloves, belts, purses, hats, for any outfit is absolutely amazing. I would appreciate any accessory tutorials!
I shall certainly keep that all in mind! ^_^
Brilliant! If I ever manage to get back to my Burlesque class again, this will come in very handy to match gloves to whatever costume I come up with. Easy to follow and quick. Thanks so much. Happiest of New Years to you, lovely lady. Take care.
Oh nice! Yes, it is nice to have perfectly matching gloves to an outfit!
Hi I'm reminding you about this again
Puppy approval is essential!
Absolutely
Omg tysm! I was litrally thinking on making some gloves for my cosplay this seems easy enough for me to make 😁🥰
You are welcome! It is true- it is one of the easiest accessories to make
Puppy upon seeing blue gloves: 0.0
Good tutorial yet again. Nice tip about cutting 1 gloves, sewing then trying on inside out
Thank you :)
So perfect and easy to follow at midnight of con crunch! Thank you!!
You are so welcome! Good luck!
Con crunch is super relatable!
I haven’t even started yet and here’s the perfect tutorial for my next project! Thank you Kirilee! 😍
I wish you all the best and a lot of good health to you and your family in this new year 💗
Thank you! I’m glad this could help. Good luck to you in 2021!
Kirilee Cosplay Thank you and good luck to you also! 🤞
Thank you for this simple and easy to follow tutorial. I have long arms and opera length gloves were never long enough for me so I made my own using your vid and they turned out excellent. Next time I wear my Regency gown I will have appropriate length gloves.
I ended up using Exoflex thread and I did a straight stitch around the whole thing and it worked beautifully. I only used a stretch stich to hem it.
Great work!
Love this tutorial, still helping me two years later.
I’m so glad it does ^_^
I really wanna start wearing more gloves with my outfits but I can just never find the kind that I want or the right colour so this tutorial is very helpfull. From now on I will just make them myself! I still have a bunch of old shirts that have the perfect fabric from them!!!
Go for it!
First video of 2021!!! Stretch fabric is a lifesaver but the expensive multiple pice glove really hugs the arm/hand.
I hope you may find some fabric on sale then :)
Finally somebody who knows what their doing, easily 🙏🏿💞🍾🥂
Thanks so much
this helps so much, i love your personality too, subbed!
I’m so glad it helped!
Perfect timing for this video. A couple of hours ago my landlady asked me if I could make her a pair of gloves to wear to a wedding on Thursday -- day after tomorrow my time. Only they have to be made from light blue organza to match her hat and bag. Will give this a try and cut them on the bias, fine french seams in the hope it won't fray too much and they at least last for the wedding and reception. Thanks for the video, turned up on my feed at just the right time.
Greetins from Ireland.
Good luck!
@@KirileeCosplay It was a disaster. Even cutting them on the bias, as soon as I cut around the stitches the fabric simply shredded itself and the stitches basically fell off the edge. I feel guilty as they were needed for a wedding today but i am going to look and see if I can find some stretchy tulle, maybe with a diamante design, and make her a pair anyway. I know what colour I am looking for, it doesn't fray at all and the stretch will mean they don't put any strain on the seams. She will still have them for the next time she wears anything from that outfit. On the plus size, my trial run using an old bedsheet (cotton knit) actually worked out beautifully and my daughter want a pair to wear for driving in the summer - cooler than her leather ones are - so it wasn't a total loss.
Oh, and to top it off my sewing machine broke down part way through (back stitch simply doesn't look as good on organza as zigzag does) and the cord on my spare machine decided it was time to part company with the plug meaning I need to get a new foot connector for that.
Not one of my better days.
@@AveCaesar2025 Non-stretch fabrics have to have something called a fourchette in-between each finger to make space. Try a pattern that uses fourchette and use a smaller stich length to make the seams sturdy. Make the gloves close fitting but not tight so the seams are not strained.
Tracing a line to actually sew on is pretty genius!
Thank you :)
Thank you for this tutorial!
I’m planning on making my dad some gloves with built in grain/ wheat bags that he can heat up in the microwave to help with his finger joint pain caused by his arthritis, for Christmas, and it’s really hard to find plain gloves for men in a fabric I’d trust to go in the microwave.
This is perfect, now I just have to trick him into letting me trace his hands so I don’t ruin the surprise!
That's a great idea!
Perfect! I need to make some gloves for my cosplay and this will work perfectly! So easy! Thanks for this amazing tutorial!
My pleasure!
Your tutorials are awesome and very helpful
Thank you so much
Short and sweet, but very effective
Thank you very much ^_^ there really isn’t much to it. Hopefully people might see this as a fun little project to try
@@KirileeCosplay I can definately think of some historical pieces to use this on. (It's also super helpful when you've got bigger hands, but want a dainty look)
Very nice! :)

AAAAAAA thank you so much for this tutorial!!! 💜💜💜
I want to make my own white gloves for my circus baby cosplay since my hands are so tiny so I'm so scared to just buy a cheap pair gloves to make her robotic hands with cause I don't want it to be obvious that it are gloves, I want the gloves to be skin tight and not see through y'know. So thank you again for this tutorial 💜💜💜
I’m so glad that this could help!
You see I have the opposite problem. No women’s glove fit my very wide hands!
Thank you so much im almost done my cosplay suit thanks!😍
Awesome!
Thanks for this tutorial! Is hard for me to find gloves that fit my hands, since i have very long fingers. This will help me not suffer in winter lmao ❤
I’m glad it will help!
Thank you. I’m going to try making some for my friend,
Have fun!
Best tutorial!! 👍🏻

Thank U! Really helpful, for this project is much easier for me.Haha 😆
You are welcome! It is a nice easy one to work with
Perfect, I do infact have elbow length gloves on my list to go with a ridiculous pokemon project : D
Hahaha! I made my husband his James’ gloves this way.
Well that was a very easy way to do it. Not how I will but a good way non-the-less.
Good luck with your way!
@@KirileeCosplay 😂 Thanks I can always use some luck.
I just found your channel while looking for a petticoat skirt tutorial and literally - all your videos are just what i searched for!! So helpful! Im trying to figure out a plan for sewing Ciel Phantomhives pink dress 👀💕
I’m glad that I could help!
I have made the ciel pink dress- I would say start with a small crinoline, add a long petticoat over it (with the layers) and then build the dress on top :)
@@KirileeCosplay Thank you! I already have a suitable crinoline with some tulle layers included, do you think i could use the petticoat tutorial for the white skirt part of the dress and just put it over the crinoline? If you have time to answer, may i ask a couple questions about how you did the pink part of the dress in the back?
Yes you can do that for the white part at the back.
As for the back of the pink dress- the waterfall drapes? The look is achieved but cutting it circular and and sloping the bottom curve up. Then you fold it in on itself. Does that make sense, or does it need its own tutorial?
Or did you mean something else all together? Lol
@@KirileeCosplay yes thats what i meant! Allright thank you so much ^^
Wow so simple :) thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thank you ❤️
Pleasure!
I need this!
Glad i could help!
Really helpful, thank you. I tried to make gloves before but i used non-stretch fabric soooo...yeah...it kinda ripped when i try to put it on😅
Stretch fabric is where it is at! ^_^
It’s much easier to sew the gloves if you leave a lot of fabric around them. Easier to turn corners, no chance of slippery stretch fabric getting caught in the throat (the hole where the needle goes in and out) of the machine.
You can do that too! I just do it this way ;)
@@KirileeCosplay You live…on the edge.
🧤😄🧤
Very helpful....thank you.....
Glad it was helpful!
Puppy approved!
Hahaha indeed
Thnks for sharing this vedio
My pleasure
Don't have a sewing machine, but I'm no stranger to sewing things by hand. Even moderately large projects.
Good luck!
@@KirileeCosplay hey, can I use a non stretchy fabric like faux fur?
Hello! I absolutely love this video as it explained well, but sadly i don't have a sewing machine, may I ask if i can just sew it myself? Would it look horrible..?
You absolutely can! Try and do an over stitch rather than a running stitch
Hi there! This is so helpful and well edited! How much fabric would you suggest ordering to make the gloves?
Honestly, not much - half a meter has generally always served me well for long gloves
if it's a 2-way stretch fabric, should you cut on the bias? or does it not matter? tysm ^-^
If you are cutting on two way- cut it so the stretch in going across the hand. And leave yourself some extra room
I want that orange glove tutorial plz ? Love from Pakistan❤
It is the one in this video :)
Is it a similar process to make mittens? I have a plan for basically a half glove, half mitten (A Glitten if you will) where only the thumb and index (maybe the middle finger too i'm indecisive rn) is like a glove, and the pinky and ring finger is like a mitten, being connected.
Yes it should be!
I need to make a glove I can attach a lot of things to then wear for most of a weekend at a convention. Would this work with a thicker non-stretch material on top?
You would need to allow for some extra fabric
I'm curious, for fingerless gloves would you hem the fingers as well? It makes sense but would probably have to be hand sewn yea?
Honestly I didn’t just because the fabric doesn’t fray, but you could do it by hand if you wanted ti
Hello! Lovely tutorial! Could I ask for any tips on the sewing if I don't have a sewing machine with me?
Go around the inside edges with an over stitch and don’t do them too tight
@@KirileeCosplay Thank you so much!
It was hard to tell but did you hem each finger on the fingerless version?
In this case no. You certainly can but it is a little fiddly. It would be worth hemming them before sewing Botha halves together
@@KirileeCosplay thanks! I just wasn't sure if the material frays. And how to do it if I picked a material that DOES fray haha. Hemming the fingertips before sewing the two halves together makes total sense.
Those snaps busted my eardrums😅
Okay
I might make tactical gloves with this (:
Awesome!
hello, i just have 1 question in mind, would this be possible if i make this using a hand stitched backstich
You could but you risk the stitches breaking
Omg tyms i'm doing Rouge costume
That’s awesome!
Can you please make with opening finger caps which open from finger tips 😭
If I have a project I need to make it for I will consider it :) otherwise, use this as a base and add what is needed
can i use a needle and tread ?
You can but you will need to sew it in a close Saigon zag stitch too otherwise the thread will break easily
I’ve always wanted to get into making clothes (mostly for myself lol) but do you have any tips?
Watch lots of tutorials and get a commercial pattern to start you off
Help! I'm not sure what I did wrong when I tried turn the gloves in side out one of the fingers got stuck inside another.
It sounds like you either sewed them together or didn't clip away the excess fabric between the stitching
Ok, the retracing your hand on the fabric is a thing so obvious but I never tried that, I hope my next gloves gets better
I always have the problem of wanting to hem the finger openings on the fingerless gloves, and ends up really bad :/ I gues I'll have to give up on that...
Yes! It was a little trick I found really helps- just do sew just outside of the line :)
Tried to do this but I failed.. what kind of fabric is that?
Lycra/ spandex
Do I need to change my normal thread to the stretchy one for this project?
Nope
@@KirileeCosplay so only stretchy fabric and the setting huh?
Can Boys use this
Yes
I'm scared I bought two way because the color I need doesn't come in 4 way at least when I looked, will the fit be like yours ?
As long as you do the stretch to the sides of the hands, you should be ok :)
do I *need* a sewing machine? Cn I do this by hand :')
You can do it by hand
Can I do that without a sewing machine? (I mean... Can I just sew that?)
Yes you can but don't sew in a straight line, you will need to do like little zig zags
@@KirileeCosplay Why tho? I am sorry for being annoying, you don't have to answer. I just never done it before and I'd like to do it correctly ^^;
@@ames5460 I know this is a year late, but a straight line isn’t going to hold that well. And it might not turn out great. Zig zag helps is keep together better.
3:21 i don’t understand this step, could someone explain to me?
It's been 2 mths and u havent gotten an answer, however, what she means is she repeated all the previous steps that were done before minus the paper. So just trace your first glove onto the fabric and repeat the steps
Thank you - I do have other things to attend to than just answering comments.
Using this for a Bendy character
Cool?
@@KirileeCosplay I love the gloves,btw
Thanks
Tried this. One glove took me about 6 hours, including the time it took me to figure out how the sewing machine worked (I've never used one before). Turned out horrible...like a dried-up, doll-sized glove. Kind of creepy... I guess I'm not cut out for sewing. The tutorial really is great, though.
I’m sorry it was difficult for you. Did you use 4 way stretch?
@@KirileeCosplay Nope. But I'm guessing I did a lot of things wrong... 😂 It was fun to try out sewing nevertheless.
