I’m learning how to sew different things and the first time I tried to sew gloves I made that mistake of cutting the hand out! Thank you for this simple tutorial:))
Hi Saltii, yes! That one trick is everything. I can’t tell you how many pair I tried to make before I figured that out. Good luck! I’d love to see your gloves! If you want to send a pic: Facebook.com/stephaniefarrell123 💙
Out of all the glove tutorials here on youtube, i found yours to be the best. Thank you for sharing. It helped me lots. Now i have my very own custom fitted gloves!
Really excellent advice to sew first, I am about to start making my own fleece gloves as its fffreeeeezing cold in the uk right now and so glad I found your vlog. You gained a new subscriber!
This tutorial was so simple and easy to follow + thank you for that helpful tip of waiting to cut after you sew! I'm getting into costume making for cosplays so this is SO helpful!! I can't wait to try this out and create tons of gloves 🩷
These are so cute! Love love love them! How do you finish the wrist edge? I love the idea of lace around the wrist! I have two sisters who I think will get gloves this Christmas! So I assume a stretchy fleece will work? Thanks so much for showing us this!
Hi Marilyn, for the wrist, I just urned it under and hemmed it. Yes! Fleece works great! I’m excited to add some trims! Please post what you make...if it’s a secret, send me a pm ...are we Facebook friends? I’d love to see your gloves. Hugs, Stephanie 💙🧤🧤🧤
Such a sweet person, thanks for the video, very helpful. I have a very bad skin disorder on my hands and the doctor told me I have to wear gloves all the time now to protect them, so will be using your tutorial to make some for myself 😊👍
They can be turned into touchscreen gloves quite easily too, by sewing or embroidering conductive thread into the fingertips. Just make sure the patch of thread is large enough that you can hit the screen without needing a very specific holding angle
@@Marshmallows56 I would look for a stretch stitch, I just searched and I saw several, hopefully one of those will be easy. Search “stretch stitch by hand”. Good luck!! And check your thrift store for a sewing machine, they often have great deals!
Hello, I would like to ask u , I want to sew split toe sock, this technique does it work same way with socks? Cause I want to all toes split socks, please if u know I would appreciate your advice, I’m beginner and trying to make them ❤Thank u
No, I cut it on the grain so the I would have lots of stretch for the fingers. You could try the bias on a trial pair if you like. I did several experiments before I found the way I wanted them. Have fun with it!! 😊😊😊
Im a little confused. You add a 1/8 to the pattern, but thats for fit not for a "seam allowance" right? Since you cut the seam allowance later? Just a litte confused please help.
Yes, I think if your stitches are tight and consistent, you could absolutely do this my hand. Make sure your fabric is stretchy in both directions. Good luck!!🥰
Looking to have gloves made if possible I can put sand or metal ball bearing in or weight of some descriptions I.e 7lbs ish do weighted punches I’m afraid my enquiry has nothing cute about it at all sorry just looking for advice
I did my first attempt at making the gloves! Using a stretchy white fleece but they turned out way too small! Can't even get them over my wrist! I see I didn't make the fingers long enough or the wrist area wide enough and the fleece is thick too. Could you put a link to your facebook group? I find your photography page and one that is "Farrell Focus" but I don't see posts from others showing pictures, etc. It looks more like a private page! I wanted to show you a picture! Marilyn
I tried to make gloves for a countless of times- still i failed in some ways :(( which is bad cuz i absoloutly love gloves. I will try your tutorial i hope i wont fail.

I would yes, absolutely. It’s not really different. Just remember to trace sew and then trim. Good luck!
@@FarrellFocus Thank u so much ❤️
Did you cut the pattern on the bias? Does knit have a bias? I only sew with cotton so sorry for the dumb question...
No, I cut it on the grain so the I would have lots of stretch for the fingers. You could try the bias on a trial pair if you like. I did several experiments before I found the way I wanted them. Have fun with it!! 😊😊😊
I bought a beautiful fabric that isn’t very stretchy. Can i still use them to make gloves?
Awesome......thank you......
Im a little confused. You add a 1/8 to the pattern, but thats for fit not for a "seam allowance" right? Since you cut the seam allowance later? Just a litte confused please help.
It just helps them fit better. But I would say a little trial and error is needed to get your perfect fit.
Thank you for this tutorial!
You will love them!! Enjoy!!
How do you make up for not having a stretch fabric?
Hi Loana, I honestly don’t think it would work with non stretchy fabric. Even an old T-shirt would be better fabric than a non stretchy. 🤷🏼♀️
Oh thank you so much my goodness ❤️
Thanks 🤗🤗🤗🤗
excllnt....i tried another way...wasted my fabrics..just now i saw this..gonna try this too
I’m ganna make some half glove knuckle hole gloves with a cool logo. 👋🏻
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
could you do this and hand sew it together? and what type of fabric would u recommend
Yes, I think if your stitches are tight and consistent, you could absolutely do this my hand. Make sure your fabric is stretchy in both directions.
Good luck!!🥰
@@FarrellFocus thankyou so much :) your tutorial is very helpful!
Is your stretch stitch a zigzag please ???
it’s a little bit different from a zigzag, but if you don’t have it, I would just use a tight zigzag stitch. Hope that helps! 😊

does one size fit all?
You draw it out to fit your hand. 😀
I take it that looks like knit material and then you said T-shirt material?
Yes! So far, I’ve only used stretchy fabric. 😊
