It's been many years since I've heard Mr. Carlton preach. Without question his message has taken a 360° turn. A person that has a true relationship with Christ has a certain glow about him/her. Mr. Carlton has lost that glow. His message has simply changed because he would rather feed his carnal appetites rather than surrender those to God. The word clearly speaks against homosexuality throughout. The word of God is not going to change just because people nowadays want to please their flesh rather than please God. At the beginning of time, it would have been pointless for God to create two gay people, so your comment is stupid and condescending. We are now in a different time and the need for every couple to procreate, no longer exists. In China there was a long standing "one-child-per-family" policy, and when humankind reach the point of overpopulation; there will be government policies to control the number of children to be born. Infertile couples do not procreate and neither do couples who choose not to have children, and neither circumstance is frowned upon, because it doesn't matter. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to Love God and love your neighbour as yourself. All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments. I stand with love too because love for God and neighbors take precedent over sexual orientation, ethnic differences, religious differences etc. The parable of the Good Samaritan is an example of how love for those in need, those who are marginalised, rejected and neglected takes precedent over the religious differences between Jew and Samaritan. The more we place emphasis on who we think will go to heaven and hell the more we marginalise and persecute others who according to Jesus are our neighbours such as the gay community.

He isn't teaching as a born again believing pastor. He is referring to what he USE TO BE and what he USE TO TEACH, but that is being mistakenly viewed as he still is that, but listen carefully and this is basically a humanistic view and teaching of religious views of sexuality which is not very uncommon. He says, for example, that the world is changing that that those who are religious should stop fighting the change because it won't be changing...that is NOT a biblical world view where we are to understand that earth is NOT our home and Christ came to save those who believe in Him were and are being saved from the realities of this fallen world...in the world indeed but NOT OF IT! So while yes, I agree with those who are broken-hearted at this wonderful man's fall from biblical teaching...these teachings are to be viewed in the light they are presented and I actually don't think we can help him until we stop associating him with his previous life...several verses says such a one is to be separated from the body of Christ, the Church, so we need to stop thinking of him as bishop Carlton as he is NOT referring to himself in that manner as well.

This goes to show that one man's relationship w/ God, is very powerful. Having a disagreement w/ God, can cause a world of problem. God is not affected by human intentions, man reap what they sow. It's been many years since I've heard Mr. Carlton preach. Without question his message has taken a 360° turn. A person that has a true relationship with Christ has a certain glow about him/her. My heart goes out to this man, who was so important to the ministry of many who are leading the pentecostal church today. He is very cunning, and sly in his speech. I stand with love too because love for God and neighbors take precedent over sexual orientation, ethnic differences, religious differences etc. The parable of the Good Samaritan is an example of how love for those in need, those who are marginalised, rejected and neglected takes precedent over the religious differences between Jew and Samaritan. The more we place emphasis on who we think will go to heaven and hell the more we marginalise and persecute others who according to Jesus are our neighbours such as the gay community.

He is referring to what he USE TO BE and what he USE TO TEACH, but that is being mistakenly viewed as he still is that, but listen carefully and this is basically a humanistic view and teaching of religious views of sexuality which is not very uncommon. He says, for example, that the world is changing that that those who are religious should stop fighting the change because it won't be changing...that is NOT a biblical world view where we are to understand that earth is NOT our home and Christ came to save those who believe in Him were and are being saved from the realities of this fallen world...in the world indeed but NOT OF IT! So while yes, I agree with those who are broken-hearted at this wonderful man's fall from biblical teaching...these teachings are to be viewed in the light they are presented and I actually don't think we can help him until we stop associating him with his previous life...several verses says such a one is to be separated from the body of Christ, the Church, so we need to stop thinking of him as bishop Carlton as he is NOT referring to himself in that manner as well.

This goes to show that one man's relationship w/ God, is very powerful. Having a disagreement w/ God, can cause a world of problem. God is not affected by human intentions, man reap what they sow. By turning a deaf ear to God, because of secrets in the heart don't hurt God. It only hurts us, seeking friendship w/ the world causes us to encounter a wrath. What he is doing has a sole purpose maybe for money, maybe because of confusion, maybe because of a hate for the church, it can go very deep. From interpretation of the movie of his, maybe it can be because of his uncle dying, idk but I do know the church can break you because the Devil fights us the most, at the alter and to imagine actually preaching the word and handling it for a congregation, it will work wherever a door is unlocked. I pray this man, seek God and just quit giving Satan what he wants because he isn't misleading anyone, he's the only one being misled. It's his battle not ours, he is in his body and at the end of the day, we just watching.

However, I am here to inform Mr. Pearson that the President and the so-called "supreme" Court (hereinafter referred to as the SCOTUS) can "approve' OF whatever they want. HOWEVER NEITHER a President, NOR the SCOTUS can make a thing "lawful" or "unlawful" ONLY Congress can make laws (Article I, Section 1, US Constitution). To DATE the ONLY laws that the U.S. CONGRESS has passed have been those AGAINST homosexuality (RE-AFFIRMING the ban against homosexuals serving in the U.S. Military ) [1] and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) [2] the latter of which is SPECIFICALLY AGAINST same-sex marriage.
Now of course people like to say that the SCOTUS "struck down" DOMA and various State Laws against homosexuality. However my question is WAS THAT WITHIN the competence of the SCOTUS? IF the U.S. Constitution is still the law of the land that answer MUST BE -- " NO " The SCOTUS cannot cite the 14th Amendment as giving them such power to do so either. When the 14th Amendment came into being, it extended to newly freed slaves the same rights and privileges and indeed the status of lawful citizens of the U.S. As such it extended to them the RIGHT to engage in LAWFUL things. [3] In 1868 when the 14th Amendment came into being in 1866 homosexuality itself was UNLAWFUL in each and every State.
IF we accept that the SCOTUS can make something lawful that was UNLAWFUL simply by THEIR "approval" then we must accept that we have LAW created by judicial fiat -- which ITSELF IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. It even flies in the face of logic, for IF the SCOTUS has a power to make a "lifestyle" "lawful" by their own approbation, then HOW FAR are we to when, by the SAME means, that they make kleptomania "lawful" or pedophilia for that matter? We may yet see the day when PEDOPHILES LOBBY FOR THE SAME "RIGHT" TO ADOPT CHILDREN AS DECENT PEOPLE.
Congress for its part, never touched the subject of homosexuality EXCEPTING to ban homosexuals from serving in the U.S. armed forces. That ban WAS REITERATED with the Military Personnel Eligibility Act of 1993. [4] It was BECAUSE Congress renewed the old ban that Bill Clinton as a matter of EXECUTIVE POLICY instituted the infamous "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" POLICY in the U.S . armed forces as Commander-in-Chief. It WAS NO LAW however, and can EASILY be overturned by the current President (and I hope he does) But Mr. Pearson is DEFINITELY WRONG to think that same-sex marriage was made lawful by the mere approbation of the President and the SCOTUS.
