Awesome! Glad to hear Jeff! LtoF,FtoL!
@ fish aholictv
I think I randomly met you while fishing @ Charlestown Breachway one afternoon, a few years back. You gave me some action tail white rubber worms and also told me the best window to pull striper's out of Napatree.
Thank you for having this channel, I enjoy it very much. You have much respect for the sport.
-Brendan S.
North Providence, RI
+Brendan S I don't think that was me because Ive never fished Napatree, but thanks for the support Glad to hear you enjoy my videos. Maybe ill see you out there one day.
I live in Rhode Island and this weathers rough. Dedication my man, I can't even go to DD's without freezing
Free. Porn
Love fishing off the West Wall.. Some of my best fishing days have happend here.. Caught just about everything here. From jumbo porgy.. Bass.. And Tog.. Nice video! Dangerous! But excellent vid
Michael caldwell what is the location
Rich this one never gets old! Might hoit 65 here near hazard rock tomorrow, can't wait to get back at it. Hope your camping and fishing in the keys goes really well. Stay safe, tim
Love feeling the action of this rod on my recent fishing trip to coast catching redfish, this was the rod of my choice among many nice rods I own.
Wow great catches and releases. All nice fish. I got to go to RI. 7 year old video that’s still great 🤙
That’s a long walk on some treacherous rocks in those conditions. Great job on doing the best on the release with those fish. Respect.
Love the way those st croixs load
That is a perfect setup. Love it
Beyond Great! Let em go. Very Cool. May a 50 lb be in your future.
that jetty looks brutal man. not easy what we do but thats what i love about it good video man
Thanks +Michael Hanlon yeah its a really long jetty but thats the fun of surf casting. if it was easy everyone would do it. or not haha.
I miss the Flounder, Stripers, Blue Fish. Soooo much fun! Tight Lines.
Nice fish you caught man! Even better you did it by yourself! Tight lines man!
Thanks +bdr5150 Tight Lines to u as well and Fish to Live.
Nice job man. Beautiful fish. Very nice spot to fish. I'm surprised there weren't more people out there with you. I subbed!
Remarkable spirit and technique...and concern for fish's survival. And? You told us the whole deal: what you were using, when and where you went, a real guy. Thanks man an enjoy your outings as I'm currently locked down with the coronavirus threat. Your vdo is a breath of fresh air.
Very nicely done. I didn't break anything over 20lbs this year. Mostly teen fish. Awesome vid. Always fish Jamestown but I've heard that point Judith is a good spot as well. Tight lines brother
+charlie yang Thanks this last season i caught many fish over 20lbs but a lot of the action was right after dark. Tightlines hopefully the winter is only short term and soon or later we will have stripers in our back yard again. Tight Lines
I was using a long handle gaff when fishing from Long Island jetties. Thanks for sharing.
That looks like some awesome fishing conditions. I may just be tempted to leave Montauk and find some new haunts away from the crowds.
now thats my kind of fishing, i gotta try that spot out , i fished it for a little bit in july before my ferry to block , gonna have to get there a little earlier next year!!
This is the most epic striped bass jetty fishing in youtube
You clearly haven’t seen the Bob the Garbageman documentary. Nothing compares.
man I was there the other day an I caught 48 inch striped bass with live bait I think that's the best spot in Rhode Island 👌
good job yeah its a very good spot, great structure and puts you way out there into some deeper water.
Hi I from CT but I wat to go fishing how I can go what’s the name of this spot please
asael torres I was wondering that as well
Dude, you're a superstar!!! That shits tough out there
and filmed it all
Great set up great fish, way to go brother
Thanks Mike!
i bought a 9 ft triumph to use as a back up to my 11 ft phenix rod . i used it at night when the conditions were not bad , and i easily caught more and bigger fish on my 9 ft triumph than my phenix rod . it ended up as my go to rod
.
Great job handling that fish, important to get them back so they live.... easily 30lb range 🤙🏻
awesome brother ..love your style !@!! … killer spot man …one after another …i was a northern fisherman all life and stripers my passion … we have in FL a Snook .. like the striper in alot of ways…. i catch em big in shallows on live small baits …insane time… peace dude Tight lines!
AWESOME video !!!! Great release skills as well , a tip of the hat for that as well.............................kudos....Send some of those slobs Sakonnet Point way, I'll be waitin !
My PB for this year is only 15 lb striper. I would’ve had a heart Attack catching on that big from excitement lol good catch and video bud! 👍
Any plans to come back to ri for the fall run?
Were you bouncing the jig off bottom?Seems like sometimes you are just winding in and other times jigging it more when you get strikes.Looks like the west wall may be alittle easier to walk out on, but further.thanks
+newyota1 I was not bouncing the jig along the bottom but was casting out then letting it sink about ten feet the began my retrieve which is a slow steady retrieve with a big jig of the rod every so often. near the bottom is ok but not on the bottom. Tight Lines good luck out there.
Awesome! Nice Job.
Hello excellent video great battle congratulations nice fish
+GALIZAPIKAROBALIZA 04 Thanks tight lines for 2016
Great video man! Got me pumped!
Insane catch
There is a really good one brother Nice video keep it up
We just hit that spot recent was pretty cool place bonito blitzn ( but not thick) birds were diving insane nothing big to brag about but bending rods for going for my first time to it was awesome.... SAVE OUR STRIPERS
Went fishing there over summer (for flounder/fluke) had no luck. Also I have no surf fishing experience and little ovean experience. When I next visit relatives in RI i'm gonna have to watch these again aha.
+Alex Jones He's got someone in scuba gear putting the fish on the hooks. You don't think he could catch them like that do you?
+Joe Collins what are you talking about? just because I didn't catch fish doesn't mean I don't think he actually did.
Caught a 35 pounder the other night on rocky inlet jetty at night. It had me hopping rocks in the dark to keep from hanging up on the rocks.
Real nice video. Did you get in on any good toggin so far this fall? If you ever want to come down to jersey and do some fishing lemme know!
Thanks +Sea-Money Fishing Toggin this year has been good in the sense there are a lot of tog around but I have only targeted them a handful of times from surf, kayak, and spear because the striper fishing has been phenomenal. But now that you mention it i prob will start hitting the tog because i have discovered some great New toggin spots surpassing the old spots with some double digit fish i noticed while diving.
I ask because I was shown a picture from an asian fella 2 days ago of a 29" tog he got from shore in RI somewhere... Thats a big tog! Get a 10lber from shore, it would be epic!
+Sea-Money Fishing I sent you a PM. 29" Wow nice Yeah theres some hog togs real close to shore up here. Hopefully ill get into some big ones soon on film.
It’s great to see how you guys became friends going through these older videos! You guys both inspired me to take fishing a lot more serious! You guys should know you’re respected and appreciated for all you do!
What kind of wetsuit is that, how thick is the neoprene wetsuit you using. Thanks.
Great video..What shoe gear were you wearing ? Those rocks are extremely dangerous ! Slip and fall and died..
Kick Ass Bro! Keep posting!
I'm a little bit Jelly atm. Great fishing man.
Hey man, have you ever tried fishing at Black Point in RI? Trying to gather a list for decent shore fishing spots, thank you.
Is there a particular reason your fishing the west wall apposed to the east wall? Does one fish better on different parts of the tide?
ooo nice ill subscribe mate good show!
Great vid! What type of clothing are you wearing to keep you from freezing out there?
Thanks +James Hancock In this video i am wearing a JBL Spear fishing wetsuit. With Sims Neoprene Gaitor socks to keep my feet warm.
Lol I know that spot. Great spot for rod and reel and diving!
I’m from providence. Where is the spot?
Hey what is that suit that you are wearing is that a Wetsuit if so who makes a?
Nice video!!
very very nice video . Saludos desde Spain
Can you talk a little about locating good currents and maybe structure for Striper without fish-finders or the like. Thx.
yeah i can do that sure thing hopefully in a video to come in the coming month
+FishAholic Fishing thanks.enjoy the vids!
How big is that lamiglass that your fishing and what kind is
hey bro great video! have you fished the smaller wall right across there in galilee? Georges I believe.
How are you fishing that bucktail?
how were you fishing it? like a jig?
I know that this vid is from a while ago, but fishaholic, if you see this, please let me know if plan to come back to the wall.
Wonder what month this was?
Awesome bro love it woo
Plug 10 will be uesd definitely and did u finish the fishaholic lures i need 2 asap
Nice vid bro. One question about the setup my brother gave me his 9 foot St Croix legend for doing him a favor last month, I have never owned such a beast of a rod. Would you recommend that vs250 for rock hopping and open beach maybe lighter inlet bucktailing. I need a vs even though it's expensive would you say 200, 250 or 275 would be good?
+HazardousDuke I would say 200 or the 250 would be ideal for all situations of fishing. It may be a little bit heavy for catching fish in the inlet if the fish are schoolies but it will get the job done and you can still catch big bass inlets so it does not hurt to be prepared if you do hook a big bass. I would get the 200-250 and then rig it with 30-40lb Power Pro green moss braid. hope this helps tight lines
+fish aholictv Thanks.I think I will go with a 250 so I can be prepared. I don't think the guides an my legend will be too small either. I will be getting another 10' rod down the road. I'm going to J&H tackle on Friday to get a 250. Thanks. Tight lines man.
+HazardousDuke I have the VS200 on the same 9ft Legend and it's perfectly balance.
Nice master
It wasnt blind luck the water there is about 15 ft but right before the bend in the wall there is a drop off to about 23ft infront of the wall during low pressure or easterly the fish pile up there
great video! amazing energy! is that a wetsuit you are wearing?
Oh...to be young again! 🤣🤣🤣
what do you use for you feet when your on those slippery rocks can you let me know looking for some new gear for rock fishing and need a heads up on your gear you use for your feet thanks
I use Korkers. Something like this bit.ly/2eKqbta with Omni Trax Spikes. These boots are cool because you can change the sole of the boot based on your terrain. I usually always wear the Omni Trax Sole in these boots to help me get a good footing on these rocks. If you like the boots use my code FISHAHOLIC you can get 20%off hope this helps you can also get Korkers Rocktrax which are a strap on korker but then you have to buy boots. You want to have boots with big spikes for these slippery rocks. Hope this helps.
thanks so much it did
Those VanStal's are $700+. Please tell me they're sand- and saltwater-proof!
+mtuers Yeah Van Staal fishing reels hands down are the real deal i would not surf cast in the surf with any other fishing reel unless i had to. Ive dropped this reel in the sand then you just submerge it under water and its clean. Ive gone swimming with this reel all i do is wash it off with freshwater when im done fishing and its ready for tomorrow, and ive smacked it upon many rocks and its still functioning like right out of the box. There pricey but will last and once you have one you will want another.
wow awesome!!
Well done!
Thanks +Relax and Fish
nice video. that place looks like a dangerous place to fish. what do you wear on your feet to deal with the slippery rocks?
Thanks yeah it is a dangerous place to catch fish and one wrong step can be bad so I wear strap on Rocktrax Korkers to keep my footing.
very very nice !!!!
Rewatched after seeing it when posted..FYI...wrong rod linked in description..not a mojo being used..
crazy one man job (you bad)
nice fish bro
do you ever keep any stripers ?
Just make sure to warn ppl to be safe going there
I am jealous! Wow those were some great fish! Do you wear any special footwear to grab onto those slippery, wet rocks when landing them?
He said he uses Sims Neoprene Gaitor socks in the vid. I personally use 5 mil neoprene wading bootie with felt bottom, decent grip and insulation for cold water jetties.
Yes you need special footwear. I wear strap on or buckle Korkers. strapped over a pair of cheap steal toe boots from Walmart. Castrax and Rocktrax Korkers are a must when heading out on the water fishing on slippery rocks.
Great clip!!!!! Can you explain your retrieve?
What a catch.I see that you are reeling with the right hand just like me.Do Van Staal makes right had reels?I asked a guy on a tackle store and he told me:No.
Polythinker yes they do
nice video where in RI?
Very nice
Where is this?
Thos pretty muchh a premier surf blank wise.i like to get a 10ft triumph and get casting eyes put on.
Legend
Where was this in ri
Great, not sure where this jetty is, down at the end of Narry..
I’ve fished point Judith before, can u send gps coordinates where you were casting from. I’m just curious to see if I’ve fished that spot.
I wouldn't have the balls to venture out onto the west wall on a day like that, gotta try it soon though. How far out were you?
Haha +Ryan DiCarlo yeah it can hairy out there I was all the way out on the end pretty much
+fish aholictv I salute you on your bravery, those are rough condition out there. I'm tempted to go out but also concerned at how quickly it can go wrong if shit goes down.
Thanks yeah it takes some experience. Ive been fishing under Montauk light house since I was 8 years old and that makes the west wall look like nothing. If you have ever seen the rocks under Montauk Light House. Korkers are a must and cautiousness if you venture out and have not been out there.
+fish aholictv just getting started on my solo surf journey. Been striper fishing since I was old enough to with my dad on the boat and in the surf, and been setting out on my own around NE and down in Delaware. The CT and DE surf is typically calm where I venture, gettin into rougher water this year as I progress
Nice sounds good definitely fishing the rougher conditions and areas can be rewarding if approached properly. I Hope you get into some big ones
Real deal
what reel you using
+jian lin Van Staal 250
Those are monster stripers
what gloves do you use?
+Evan Warwick Hello I just use a pair of baseball batting gloves that i pick up from Walmart. I also use leather golf gloves. I use these gloves because they make a real snug fit to my hands so i can tie knots, and be able to feel the line as if i was not wearing gloves. But also these gloves are great in protecting my hands from fish, fishing line while casting, and other sharp objects in the surf.
+FishAholic Fishing especially climbing around the rocks! My hands get beat to hell. I hate wearing gloves too.
ok its official, this fall u need to take me fishing lmao but just wondering, what are you wearing on your feet?
I'm wearing tie on korkers over Steal toe cheapo Walmart boots. Now I have the same boots but upgraded to the strap on buckle korkers.
+FishAholic Fishing i have korker boots, whats the best sole for fishing the jetties?
+Sinister SE I'm assuming you have the replaceable Korker sole boots so you can swap out the sole based on the terrain? Well I would recommend which ever sole gives you the largest spikes.
+FishAholic Fishing yes i do, i currently only have the felt and the rubber, i fell off the jetty wearing the felt. are the felt with spikes good or just spikes?
+Sinister SE yeah just felt is no good I just looked online the Studded Rubber Sole is what I think would be the best.
Beautiful fish. On the other hand, I don't care if there are 50s in there, you will NOT get me on those rocks! Dying doing what I love would be the ideal way to go, but I'm not doing it by getting dashed to bits on those rocks down there.
That sucks. Im 33, morbidly obese at 400# and slightly crippled from a car accident and I'll gladly walk out there every season for albies. You just dont want it bad enough
next year come down 2 mcorri point and catch some serious porgy - scup
it wud make my day if u reply :)
yeah maybe i can get there one day tied to mtk currently. Tight lines!
Where in ri is this
Narragansett RI. He's fishing the west wall (as he said.) great fishing man. Great potential for big fish. Biiig water. If your in the northeast I totally recommend checking it out. If your down with wetsuits and Korkers (not to mention the possibility of getting washed off the wall) there are many other fishing opportunities in that area.
Sorry. Should have read " if your NOT down with wetsuits and...."
how tall is your fishing rod? if you will reply I'll subscribe thank you!
+assasin revenge 9ft medium monderate action St. Croix Triumph thank you and tight lines!
+FishAholic Fishing thanks for the info and I already subscribe Ya!
no problem glad to hear thank you!
