A 90 pound hammer head half mile off the beach, got him sight fishing with cut up Spanish mackerel. Quite rare and crazy catch. Specially with a 10-20 pound rated rod and a 4000 sized reel. It was a special moment because it only time my cousin came all the way to LI to fish with me. Definitely my best catch this summer.

I caught a 300# swordfish with my brother this summer off Palm Beach. It was a fish of a lifetime and something really cool to share with my brother. Keep up the good work Rich. I love your channel.
No joke my best summer catch as a fisherman at heart has been discovering this channel and living vicariously through your adventures! It’s been a blast going through the VODs as a new viewer; I feel like I’ve been on twenty different fishing adventures this month alone. I plan on getting a sweatshirt when some extra spending money comes around but just wanted to say thank you for continuing to allow viewers such as myself experience something new.
Also it would be cool to see you travel up to the Seattle / puget sound area and explore/fish sometime! My favorite video of yours so far was the one where you traveled off the cruise ship and explored (I believe it was somewhere in the Caribbean?) - those unique ideas are some of your best! Stay safe happy fishing
Best catch this summer in the Merrimack river jetty (north shore of MA) was a 100lb+ sturgeon (by accident) as I was bottom jigging in the outgoing time current a big savage gear jig for stripers. Completely overwhelmed rod and reel, broke off after a thrilling few minutes of thinking I'm pulling a truck off the bottom. Good job Rich with all your content, big follower of your channel! Cheers
Nothing like getting back to your roots to ease the frustration of the motor. You'll rebound and be successful in the years to come....so enjoy your time doing what you love. Go back to the canal and get some monsters. You know where.
Did a lot of random fishing this year. Got a boat for the first time and have been doing a lot of bass fishing. My favorite catch this year was on a guided trip on the Eleven Point river in Missouri, first catch of the day was a 3lb smallmouth bass on a 5 weight fly rod on a white jig.
Took air on Viking Starship Charter about 35 years ago on Cod Fishing trip to Coxes Ledge...blew out a side window. Montauk fishing is great in the Fall!
My best 2021 summer catch is a 37in snook in Stuart Florida. On the same day, I also got on about a 90-100 pound Tarpon that bulldoged me the entire time. It jumped twice at the beginning then started digging the rest of the 45 minute fight.
Sorry to hear about the lower Unit, my friend. Hope it gets repaired soon. Best catch from this summer was a bull red in the May River here in Bluffton. Close second was the big blue I got out on the Fishaholic rig in August. Keep up the great work!
I just cought a 32 striped bass shinnocock 3 days ago it was my pb i used a mag darter in the middle of a snapper blitz it was the most amazing thing to see the bass hit so hard he breached the water when he hit !! I love your videos keep them coming fishaholic for life!!
Best catch was a beautiful brown trout on the Fly out of the Farmington River in CT. Just began fly fishing a 9wt for stripers within the last week. Completely hooked!
Best summer catch... I just moved to Southern Maryland and I work on base. I had the itch to fish a couple weeks ago, so I ran down to the Marina on base for lunch, throw an artificial lure (shrimp) out on my 7 ft rod and bam. I caught a 22 inch Stripped Bass. My first fish in Maryland. I had to throw him back, because I was at work. UGGHH
Best summer catch for me was a 4lb largemouth on 6lb line and a 5” senko. Been grinding freshwater due to tough fishing on the salt. As of late the porgy bite has been incredible! Hope the boat situation gets sorted out the best it can and thanks for the awesome content as usual!
My best was just a week ago last weekend. Got into a school of fish just at sundown which were destroying top water plugs. Big high end slots with some larger fish mixed in. Once the sun went down they got a little picky but were hitting a yellow over white darter. In all I probably had 20 fish over 3/4 hours with 3-4 of them being pretty big cows. Great night of fishing.
Best Catch this summer.....not a crazy big fish but a meaningful fish. Fishing the upper Chesapeake Bay out of Baltimore, It was a rough day no action and a half dozen missed takes. The fish just weren't taking the jig!! Anyway last cast with my Pops and I finally hooked up on the perfect striper on bass tackle, 26" slab made our day. Thank you for all of the fishing videos keep em coming!
Best summer catch was a 45 pound bass east of montauk point in grand slam charters on the June full moon. 4 of us had 21 fish all over the slot. East wind that night and had the whole area to ourselves!
For me, this summer, the fishing was challenging. My best catch was a flounder in the surf in Brigantine NJ. It was a short (12") but it was my best catch because I got was able to get it after tying my own jighead w/ teaser rig and trying different colors and different gulp. Small victories.
My best summer trip was for speckled weakfish (specs) as we call them in Texas. We ended up night fishing under the lights on the Intercoastal canal with ultra light spinning and fly rods. We had a blast with 14 inch - 20 inch specs. :pst count at a little over 20 caught and released. Love your videos. I wish we had stripers in our salt water. Tight lines@
Best summer catch of 2021 was a 25.5" 7lb Fluke. On the same trip my father and I put enough nice fluke in the boat for a daily limit. Looking forward to an amazing fall striper run. Great video to get the blood pumping. Good luck with the boat repair, and tight lines.
My uncle took me out fishing in the cape cod canal around May. It was 7AM slack tide and not much action. He let me use his 10’6 Jigster and 14000 ‘20 Saltiga. I was just bored, out of my mind and just throwing plugs of all kinds. Pencil, plastics, Bomber and such. About when it touched 7AM, I casted and few reels in I felt a hard tug and set the hook as hard as I can. Couple minutes later I caught my ultimate Striper, 54 inches. After that I slept in the truck for the day because that striper was all I needed that day.
About three weeks ago I was fishing same area you were in the vid, and was watching my bucktail as I brought it close to my feet, just to check the action of the tail, and a slot came screaming from the side and blasted it. I was so surprised I squealed. It was pretty great.
Best trip was end of may at barnegat light using your 1oz finback shad chartreuse color with 5 in chartreuse shad got a 40+ 50+ and a 30+ striper just before the sun came up.
An amazing day for me this season would be kayak fishing in a creek off of Corrotoman River in VA. I was surprised to be catching Sea Trout, Stripers, and Redfish. Meanwhile as I was releasing my PB Redfish; a pod of dolphins emerged behind me. What a surreal experience it was, I would have never thought to see nature at it's best that day.
Best catch this summer was a 27 inch snook that I wasn't targeting. Had a little 2/0 circle hook with a small piece of shrimp trying to get mangroves under a pier with my light rod. Fought it for 10 minutes before I brought it up. First snook of my life. It was too bad that snook season was still a few weeks away but I was still ecstatic to catch it.

Finally had a chance to surf fish on 9-20-21 at 5:00am-7:00am. First two casts with an Sp minnow put two bass on the beach, a twenty-two and a twenty-five inch fish. It reminded me “why” I get up at 4:30 am every day.
This summer I've really been focusing on logging my surf fishing trips and figuring out what conditions provide a good bite. I've mostly been focusing on blues, and I have to say I think I've done a pretty good job. Of the 14 trips I've made, I caught fish all but 2 times. My favorite trip was going out and bringing my girlfriend. I had her casting with a 7' light inshore rod. There was a quick blunts of blues in the 7-9 lb range. She hooked up on one and battled it to shore on that light rod. I was proud of her and glad I could find good conditions that I was confident would provide her with a fish. Love your videos, keep up the great work!
