A 90 pound hammer head half mile off the beach, got him sight fishing with cut up Spanish mackerel. Quite rare and crazy catch. Specially with a 10-20 pound rated rod and a 4000 sized reel. It was a special moment because it only time my cousin came all the way to LI to fish with me. Definitely my best catch this summer.
Best summer catch for me was a 7'2 tiger shark! New to land based shark fishing and the thrill of hearing drag tear out is something else!
Nothing like getting back to your roots to ease the frustration of the motor. You'll rebound and be successful in the years to come....so enjoy your time doing what you love. Go back to the canal and get some monsters. You know where.
Biggest fish this year.... none.. No time and no money this year. But it's ok, i go fishing with you every week! Keep them coming for all us guys that can't go fishing!
Thanks rich
No joke my best summer catch as a fisherman at heart has been discovering this channel and living vicariously through your adventures! It’s been a blast going through the VODs as a new viewer; I feel like I’ve been on twenty different fishing adventures this month alone. I plan on getting a sweatshirt when some extra spending money comes around but just wanted to say thank you for continuing to allow viewers such as myself experience something new.
Also it would be cool to see you travel up to the Seattle / puget sound area and explore/fish sometime! My favorite video of yours so far was the one where you traveled off the cruise ship and explored (I believe it was somewhere in the Caribbean?) - those unique ideas are some of your best! Stay safe happy fishing
My best catch of the summer was a 21" 10 lb. rainbow trout using my 5/6 wt. fly rod on a brown Canadian leach pattern, from my inflatable pontoon boat, in Idaho. I really enjoy your channel.
Ten lbs !? That’s a fat rainbow
Wow that’s a really fat bow! Nice 👍🏻
Hubby and I bought 2 fishing kayaks end of May and have fished on them 33 days since. My new obsession😎.
I caught a 300# swordfish with my brother this summer off Palm Beach. It was a fish of a lifetime and something really cool to share with my brother. Keep up the good work Rich. I love your channel.
My best catch of the summer is Tracey! My wife passed away 2 1/2 years ago and I thought that I would be alone forever. And then I met Tracey.
Best catch this summer was a 29 inch 21lb slob of a Rainbow out of the Pecos River head waters! Second best 41 inch Northern Pike off my tandem kayak!
My most recent crazy catch (Sept. 26) was a small Jack Crevalle off of the South shore of Long Island NY. Keep fishing boys!
Best summer catch….26” chain pickerel from Lake Winnipesaukee. Keep up the good work Rich!
Best catch this summer in the Merrimack river jetty (north shore of MA) was a 100lb+ sturgeon (by accident) as I was bottom jigging in the outgoing time current a big savage gear jig for stripers. Completely overwhelmed rod and reel, broke off after a thrilling few minutes of thinking I'm pulling a truck off the bottom. Good job Rich with all your content, big follower of your channel! Cheers
Best summer catch. Surf fishing down in Florida. Lots of action.
Best summer catch for me was a weakfish out of blue fish schools. Haven’t got such big weakfish for years. Love your content, keep it coming
Nice that’s always a pretty cool surprise!
Best time out this summer was with my son while he caught his first leopard shark. Love the channel, don’t miss an episode. Thank you!
Can’t go wrong with catching summer fluke. Great content!
Did a lot of random fishing this year. Got a boat for the first time and have been doing a lot of bass fishing. My favorite catch this year was on a guided trip on the Eleven Point river in Missouri, first catch of the day was a 3lb smallmouth bass on a 5 weight fly rod on a white jig.
My best summer catch was helping my daughter catch a 5lb large mouth fishing the local pond for bluegill, quite a surprise!
Best summer catch...
I just moved to Southern Maryland and I work on base. I had the itch to fish a couple weeks ago, so I ran down to the Marina on base for lunch, throw an artificial lure (shrimp) out on my 7 ft rod and bam. I caught a 22 inch Stripped Bass. My first fish in Maryland. I had to throw him back, because I was at work. UGGHH
Great vid…. Love those poppers… best catch this summer was a 10.56lb Fluke 🐟🐟🐟
My largest was a 33'' striper over the summer in the New Jersey surf. Good luck with the repairs of your boat!
Food chain challenge one of the these days. Would be sick
My uncle took me out fishing in the cape cod canal around May. It was 7AM slack tide and not much action. He let me use his 10’6 Jigster and 14000 ‘20 Saltiga. I was just bored, out of my mind and just throwing plugs of all kinds. Pencil, plastics, Bomber and such. About when it touched 7AM, I casted and few reels in I felt a hard tug and set the hook as hard as I can. Couple minutes later I caught my ultimate Striper, 54 inches. After that I slept in the truck for the day because that striper was all I needed that day.
I just cought a 32 striped bass shinnocock 3 days ago it was my pb i used a mag darter in the middle of a snapper blitz it was the most amazing thing to see the bass hit so hard he breached the water when he hit !! I love your videos keep them coming fishaholic for life!!
Man been so busy haven't been striper fishing in like 5 months. Good thing yoir vids keep me motivated to get out there when I can
best catch of the summer was back to back albies in late august from land. always a blast.
My best summer catch was seeing my son catch his 1st bluegill ever out of our pond!
The best! Hopefully he’s hooked now!
My best summer catch were 12 largemouth bass on fly from my kayak in my buddies farm pond. I love catching hungry fish on the fly.
My best was just a week ago last weekend. Got into a school of fish just at sundown which were destroying top water plugs. Big high end slots with some larger fish mixed in. Once the sun went down they got a little picky but were hitting a yellow over white darter. In all I probably had 20 fish over 3/4 hours with 3-4 of them being pretty big cows. Great night of fishing.
An amazing day for me this season would be kayak fishing in a creek off of Corrotoman River in VA. I was surprised to be catching Sea Trout, Stripers, and Redfish. Meanwhile as I was releasing my PB Redfish; a pod of dolphins emerged behind me. What a surreal experience it was, I would have never thought to see nature at it's best that day.
Sorry to hear about the lower Unit, my friend. Hope it gets repaired soon. Best catch from this summer was a bull red in the May River here in Bluffton. Close second was the big blue I got out on the Fishaholic rig in August. Keep up the great work!
Took air on Viking Starship Charter about 35 years ago on Cod Fishing trip to Coxes Ledge...blew out a side window. Montauk fishing is great in the Fall!
Best catch was a beautiful brown trout on the Fly out of the Farmington River in CT. Just began fly fishing a 9wt for stripers within the last week. Completely hooked!
This year's best was due to blue fish Here in the Bronx.I dig your channel thank you for your videos and your editing time and I hope your boat makes a speedy recovery
My best 2021 summer catch is a 37in snook in Stuart Florida. On the same day, I also got on about a 90-100 pound Tarpon that bulldoged me the entire time. It jumped twice at the beginning then started digging the rest of the 45 minute fight.
For me my best summer catch a 28 inch bluefish that absolutely can out of nowhere to eat my bait.
Love the vid. Wish I could get some surf striper!!
Best Catch this summer.....not a crazy big fish but a meaningful fish. Fishing the upper Chesapeake Bay out of Baltimore, It was a rough day no action and a half dozen missed takes. The fish just weren't taking the jig!! Anyway last cast with my Pops and I finally hooked up on the perfect striper on bass tackle, 26" slab made our day. Thank you for all of the fishing videos keep em coming!
Best catch this summer was a 27 inch snook that I wasn't targeting. Had a little 2/0 circle hook with a small piece of shrimp trying to get mangroves under a pier with my light rod. Fought it for 10 minutes before I brought it up. First snook of my life. It was too bad that snook season was still a few weeks away but I was still ecstatic to catch it.
Rich imho this is your sweet spot for videos, reminiscent of your J&W days along the jetties! I really enjoy watching your posts. Rough news about your lower end, I hope you can get back OTW soon. Safe travels. tim
Sorry to hear about the Fishaholic rig...she's a beauty! Hope you do get to do the New England trip...looking forward to more epic videos
My best catch this summer was a 20lb California Yellowtail. I love how much time you spend on the water, always awesome content!
Best summer catch was a nice 8lb blue fish, put up a great fight
As kids, my cousin Sue and I spent hours off Whidbey island WA, tied to a buoy catching sculpins and sole. Now we are old ladies, but we got together this month on my farm pond to catch bass, blue gill and crappie. Best catch, 10 inch LMB lol. I very much enjoy surf fishing vicariously, watching your vids. (I'd prob fall off those rocks 1st thing)
My best summer catch was watching my daughter catch her first fish
That’s gotta be awesome!
@@FishAholicTV It really was. It was only a bluegill, but she was super excited. I can’t wait to have her be my fishing buddy on the boat.
For me, this summer, the fishing was challenging. My best catch was a flounder in the surf in Brigantine NJ. It was a short (12") but it was my best catch because I got was able to get it after tying my own jighead w/ teaser rig and trying different colors and different gulp. Small victories.
Best summer catch my first little football bluefin on the jig. NE content sounds awesome!
Best summer catch was a 45 pound bass east of montauk point in grand slam charters on the June full moon. 4 of us had 21 fish all over the slot. East wind that night and had the whole area to ourselves!
My favorite from this summer was probably my first tiger musky! Love your channel man!
Best summer catch for me was a 4lb largemouth on 6lb line and a 5” senko. Been grinding freshwater due to tough fishing on the salt. As of late the porgy bite has been incredible! Hope the boat situation gets sorted out the best it can and thanks for the awesome content as usual!
16 Pound blue on the dark matter pencil yellow and clear!!! Thanks Rich!
Nice to see you on the surf Rich, sorry to hear about the boat, but you always put together a great video for your viewers, can’t wait for the next one
My best fish this summer was a 3 foot shark. It may not be the greatest catch ever being that it was a shark, but it was a ton of fun to pull in!
Nice job Rich good to see you back in the surf tight lines
Awesome videos, as always, Rich. Best summer catch is a 24 inch fluke.
Finally had a chance to surf fish on 9-20-21 at 5:00am-7:00am. First two casts with an Sp minnow put two bass on the beach, a twenty-two and a twenty-five inch fish. It reminded me “why” I get up at 4:30 am every day.
My best summer trip was for speckled weakfish (specs) as we call them in Texas. We ended up night fishing under the lights on the Intercoastal canal with ultra light spinning and fly rods. We had a blast with 14 inch - 20 inch specs. :pst count at a little over 20 caught and released. Love your videos. I wish we had stripers in our salt water. Tight lines@
My best sumner catch was the day before my birthday i caught a 48 inch 40 something lb striper. A once in a life time fish on a 5 inch blue metal lip! Awesome fight and safely released
Didn't get out on the water as much this year as I did last year but still managed to have some success!
My best catch for summer of 2021 was a schoolie caught in the roughest surf conditions I had ever fished personally. The waves were approx. 8-12 ft high and I was getting smashed by the waves. In my head I remember hearing Rich saying " This water looks juicy!" I kept launching various lures up and down the coast area. About 2 hours in I was almost ready to switch spots. Finally I launched an SP minnow into the Whitewater and smash I got hit. I landed a fat schoolie and felt like a fishaholic! Thanks for the vids Rich!
P.s. Fat Schoolie lol
My best catch of this summer was a Bull Red Fish caught it in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland using a pink bucktail in 20 feet of water Cool video buddy keep them coming 👍 😎
Haven’t been fishing this summer due to medical issues but enjoying your videos. Hopefully be out there for the October run.
This summer I've really been focusing on logging my surf fishing trips and figuring out what conditions provide a good bite. I've mostly been focusing on blues, and I have to say I think I've done a pretty good job. Of the 14 trips I've made, I caught fish all but 2 times. My favorite trip was going out and bringing my girlfriend. I had her casting with a 7' light inshore rod. There was a quick blunts of blues in the 7-9 lb range. She hooked up on one and battled it to shore on that light rod. I was proud of her and glad I could find good conditions that I was confident would provide her with a fish. Love your videos, keep up the great work!
Always great video ,such a simple rig but so effective in your area
Best summer catch of 2021 was a 25.5" 7lb Fluke. On the same trip my father and I put enough nice fluke in the boat for a daily limit. Looking forward to an amazing fall striper run. Great video to get the blood pumping. Good luck with the boat repair, and tight lines.
Best summer catch was a 24 “ golden trout. Caught it on yellow panther Martin.
Best trip was end of may at barnegat light using your 1oz finback shad chartreuse color with 5 in chartreuse shad got a 40+ 50+ and a 30+ striper just before the sun came up.

About three weeks ago I was fishing same area you were in the vid, and was watching my bucktail as I brought it close to my feet, just to check the action of the tail, and a slot came screaming from the side and blasted it. I was so surprised I squealed. It was pretty great.
Best summer catch of 2021 was a 28” and 32” striped bass on a s-waver 168 full moon bite
Fall run has just begun let’s get it
Great vid i miss the good ole surf videos!!

Hey Rich, sorry to hear about your lower unit. Similar thing happened to me on Lake Champlain. A gear in my lower unit exploded for no reason. I had to get towed back to the ramp.

Best fishing of the season - Spent a week in South County RI and had a great week. Most ridiculous outing ever at breachway during outgoing, just lights out. But best, was a new PB from the kayak, 32".
That’s awesome! Catching any size fish from the kayak is always a blast!
My best summer catch was catching a 32 pound blue channel catfish using some flaming hot Cheetos as bait. Yup, I haven’t been cat fishing without a bag of Cheetos since.
Good to see some life out there.
