Amazing drone footage, I see I may have to adjust my presentation a little. I can’t wait to see the full footage and your lessons learned. Thanks for making us better fishermen.
I went out with Paduano on Friday, it made me a true believer on snap jigging, although i need to work on determining when im on bottom and not dragging, especially with light jigs.
lucky you john....sea bass closed sept 8th in massachusetts in prime fishing season...makes no sense what so ever since rhode island stays open..i caught a dozen jumbos last week but back they went..ty for the video great insight
Wow Mr Skinner, you have done it! I've been trying to get an underwater shot like that for a long time as well. Congrats on figuring it out, you have set a new standard and I can't wait to see what else you are willing to share with us 😁 You notice that one blackfish looking up before the jig even dropped down? It's like they become conditioned, I think that's why it's good to drop back into the exact same spot after getting a lot of bites.
I’ve been catching a limit of nothing less than 20” Sea Bass and Weaks with clams in 100’ of water, in the Sound during slack tide, no drifting, no jigging, just need to find an obstruction. Like that camera, how long is that tether ?
Hey John. Is this a tactic to try on a party boat or is it best to follow the crowd? What I mean is will they go for the snap jigging or will they most likely pass on that for an easy meal sitting in front of them? Thanks
True, the Asian crabs killed it!!!. I took a trip with only 12 of them bc I couldn’t find more, and I sea bass after sea bass And with green crabs I only got porgy
I tell ya Mr.John, I’ve tried over and over to implement a spinning outfit/technique into my bottom fishing excursions and just can’t seem to get a hang of it. From fluke, porgy, sea bass to now light tackle black fishing. I just can’t get used to it. I don’t have the same feel or hook setting ability as with my 200/300 size baitcasters. I’ve tried though.
As always, very informative videos. I got both the Bucktail and Fluke courses and can't wait for the release of the Blackfish course. Thank you so much for the detailed gear info. It saves me lots of money and searching time. In this, video I see you used an AbuGarsia spinning Rod. What are the pecs of that rod?
The floor needs to come up to get at it. The problem is I don't have down time anymore because I'll head to Florida as soon as this fishing slows. The soft floor is actually the bigger problem.
Agreed and his are good jigs for sure. He gave me some a bunch of years ago. I had S&S make the ones in this video to have barbed collars to hold gulp grubs for my Florida fishing for reds, trout, snook... I mostly use lighter weights down there in very shallow water.
Exactly. On the full underwater video that I'll post in a couple days some of the fish are looking up as the jig is headed their way. The blackfish don't beat out the porgies and seabass, but they can push them out of the way.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing I went fishing yesterday out in Glen Cove off off jetty and my bait was getting attacked by mostly porgies I might’ve had two hits from the blackfish the porgies are crazy out by me hopefully when it gets colder out the porgies will go away
Great drone footage! John, for those who like fluke jigging with spinning gear, would you recommend that Tsunami Slimwave in MH? Or is the H a better choice?
That drone footage was incredible!!! Your jig got wolf-packed!! No wonder we go through so many crabs!! Bravo John!!
Dont taste as good as a seabass?!?!? Tog and fluke are my favorite fish to eat! You’re the man skinner! Learn more with every video you make.
Love the sound of a fish peeling off line. Those Albys can give you a nice run!
Seabass are such cool fish!
That drone footage was something else! Absolutely incredible!
Learning so much watching you. Thank you John
Best fishing videos on the planet
Drone was crazy. Great fall trip.
Outstanding as usual. That drone footage is going to be epic !
Addicted to 🐟 all my life.your video's came in handy.thanks a lot.
Amazing underwater footage🥰🥰🥰🥰
revolutionizing modern fishing John! Great stuff, thanks.
Amazing drone footage, I see I may have to adjust my presentation a little. I can’t wait to see the full footage and your lessons learned. Thanks for making us better fishermen.
also, can't WAIT for that underwater footage!!!!
Well that is exactly what you always discribe. Great quality video Skinner!
Excellent John!
I agree John, Sea bass are my favorite eating fish! blackfish and fluke are good, but sea bass is just so sweet and delicious!
Can’t wait for the drone footage!!!
Can't wait for the underwater video!
Oooooo…can’t wait for the drone videos!!
Hi I thought you were on the beach didn't know you were in a boat great video thanks
Looking forward to the underwater camera film!
Under water footage, very cool!
I went out with Paduano on Friday, it made me a true believer on snap jigging, although i need to work on determining when im on bottom and not dragging, especially with light jigs.
Proud to be second! Another great video! We need prof skinner on slow pitch jigging.
Looking forward to the underwater footage!
Those Scup (Porgys) are staying deep into the fall season . Great underwater footage .
Awesome footage with that new camera!
Can’t wait to see the underwater drone footage!
Killer content. Thanks so much. Always look forward to your show.
You are a fishermans fisherman. You could probably catch your PB on a slice of baloney. You are what we all aspire to become. Keep up the good work.
Love this channel
Nice job John looked like a good day..
Can we get a John Skinner Gear review video? (Show and review everything you use for fishing. Rods, reels, line, lures, etc. )
Wow!! That underwater shot was so cool!
The full video will be spectacular. I couldn't believe what I was watching on the phone while fishing.
Great video and footage.
that underwater footage is awesome.
Wait until you see the whole thing when I put it together. Unbelievable stroke of luck to get the camera stable at that angle.
“…and maybe they’ll hit, but more often than not they ignore the offering…”
Unless you’re Skinner. Then you’ll almost always hook up 😂
I've been patiently waiting to see some videos since you debuted the camera...CAN'T WAIT
I love the fall!!
Success is sweet🎣
I love blackfish
Incredible
Very cool that you can get them with out putting anything on the hook. Good for Stan too 👍I picked up a few 1oz and 2oz for stripers this week.
Agreed. And it gets the bigger ones.
lucky you john....sea bass closed sept 8th in massachusetts in prime fishing season...makes no sense what so ever since rhode island stays open..i caught a dozen jumbos last week but back they went..ty for the video great insight
It's like here when we have big ones in the spring before the season opens.

There will be several learning points on the full underwater vid. It will change my technique a bit for sure.
I LOVE FLOUNDER, but the first time I had black sea bass, I was like holy S#!+.
Albies are such bad ass swimmers! When do they come around nyc waters?
Very informative. In the sea bass segment, do all the boats (kinda) line up for the drift? (Similar to fly fishermen fishing a salmon run)
We're just running ahead of the structure to drift over it. I'm sure the fly thing is much more orderly.
John you are the F-ing man!
I’ve been catching a limit of nothing less than 20” Sea Bass and Weaks with clams in 100’ of water, in the Sound during slack tide, no drifting, no jigging, just need to find an obstruction. Like that camera, how long is that tether ?
90 feet
Hey John. Is this a tactic to try on a party boat or is it best to follow the crowd? What I mean is will they go for the snap jigging or will they most likely pass on that for an easy meal sitting in front of them? Thanks
What’s a good spot to fish in RI?
Is that a 16 foot starcraft/sylvan turned into a center console?
1974 Starcraft Holiday
May I know the location of the beach that is close to where you are fishing? Thanks.
True, the Asian crabs killed it!!!. I took a trip with only 12 of them bc I couldn’t find more, and I sea bass after sea bass And with green crabs I only got porgy
What reel were you using on both rods with the gold handles. Spinfishers?
Penn Clach 3000 with Penn Slammer handles.
So you just drop it all the way to bottom, once it hits bottom, you pick up and drop it back down until it hits?
You don't just pick it up, you snap it up hard. Otherwise yes.
Third!! Always a blast watching your videos!

Hey, whatever works is what's best.
What are the specs on the rod you use for snap jigging?
I would love to go fishing one day with you so you can teach me a few techniques

It saves me lots of money and searching time. In this, video I see you used an AbuGarsia spinning Rod. What are the pecs of that rod?
Thanks for the kind words on the courses! That Abu rod is an ancient thing that I bought broken in a department store for $5 many years ago.
What type of boat is this?
1974 16' Starcraft
John’s happy but the sea bass well that’s a different story…..Fish on
OMG John, that's a hellava lots of water in your bilge. You should check out where the leak is and get'er fixed.
The floor needs to come up to get at it. The problem is I don't have down time anymore because I'll head to Florida as soon as this fishing slows. The soft floor is actually the bigger problem.
Hey skin. What's your boats top speed ?
22mph
@@JohnSkinnerFishing ok thanks !
Not familiar with the false albacore. Is it illegal to catch them?
No. Fun to catch but not great to eat.
They are jumbos!!
I loathe the smaller ones when fluking, but these are fun and tasty.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing totally agree! Gulp stealing little menaces!!
John's P is a good guy I've been snap jigging for a while you should try his premium bucktails they are killers

Can you give a link please for this drone?
It's in the video description.
The black fish are like dogs waiting for a treat lol

Do you eat the albei
No.
too much Mercury...strong fishy taste...
@@arisdelis1 thank you
Where can I find that drone camera?
I just added the link to the video description. Thanks for asking.
Great drone footage! John, for those who like fluke jigging with spinning gear, would you recommend that Tsunami Slimwave in MH? Or is the H a better choice?
Neither. The tips are too soft. If you can wait for next season, I'll have a solid suggestion.
guess Ineed a boat, and follow John's.
Wheres the strippers? So called fall run is bologna
TORPEDO FISH
I’ll take blackfish over sea bass for taste
Fish stand no chance against Skinner.
