Hi Heath, Nice to see the "Fish Slayer" reel in some fish today. Building memories with your son. Glad you're spending a great time together. You always manage to catch a fish. Hope the family's well. Take care and good luck, Mickey
Hi Mickey, thanks for watching and always taking out time to be here on this journey with me and my family. It means the world to me. All the kids say "Hi Mickey". Yes, Avi bring the boat luck, whenever he comes out, we seem to bring home dinner... I'm gonna do a Catch, Clean & Cook episode on this one, the result is gonna blow your mind. Thanks again for all you've done over the years. Hope all is well with you and your family. Avoid the heat and stay cool. Talk to you Thursday. Take care ;)
Hi Heath, We're all well here. It's nice that you and Avi get to have some quality time together. The kids grow up so fast and you wonder where the time went. My youngest is 42 and I'm still 17. ( in my mind ) I'm reading the comments and a few people think Avi's name is Abby. Maybe you should put his name in the video title sometime, so that they can see the spelling of his name. I went fishing yesterday and caught 2 Bass and 2 large Sunfish. At least I caught something. Nothing replaces saltwater fishing. I'm still a saltwater fisherman at heart. Have a good week and have fun, Mickey
Ya, I finally got him out on a day trip. We had to call it off the night before due to storms, but he was still amped up about getting out, so he went with me the next morning. That cuda was good eatins'. Take care, talk to you soon.
Thanks a boat load for watching... Yep, was finally able to Avi out during the day, we had to cancel our evening trip the night before, due to rain, so he was still amped up and ready to do some slaying. He always brings the boat some luck, and we always seem to go home with dinner when he comes out. Thanks again for all you've done for the channel, and always taking time out of your life to watching and support us. I sincerely can't thank you enough. Tight lines & take care ;)

Looked for you all weekend, appreciate all the info and passion you bring. We typically fish out of boynton south of the inlet. If you see a 35 ft scout shout out
Thanks a million for watching and looking for me out there. I headed out about 20 miles to the sword fishing grounds, looking get on the dolphin bite. This coming weekend, if I can get out, I'll probably be out and about on the edge. Scout is an awesome manufacturer, what color is your boat? If I see you, I'll be sure to holler at you. Thanks again for all your support of the channel, I truly and sincerely appreciate it. Be safe out there. Tight lines & take care ;)
Great video Heath! Nice to see the the Fish Slayer out there again. I think your new nickname should be "Bucktail"! Those small Cuda are very good eating. Keep the videos coming, we are headed back to OBX on 8/7/21 for a week of offshore fishing. If we get anything good I will send you some pics.
Hi Chris thanks a boat load for watching. Oh boy, do I love those little cuda... I'm doing a catch, clean & cook on that one and the outcome is one of my favorite seafood meals. that'll be up in a week or so. Good luck on your trip to the Banks, hope the weather holds out and you land on some good fish bites. Please do send Pics. Having Avi out there with me is always fun, I get to just play captain and he reels in everything. He's a great good luck charm. We always seem to bring homer dinner when he's on the reel. wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks again for always being here, supporting the channel and sharing what you're doing. I sincerely can't thank you enough. means the world to me. Stay safe. Tight lines & take care ;)

Great, video , can you show or tell me how can I switch from hand lining the fish , to hooking to the main line and reeling the the fish in . What terminal tackle is used for this . As always great video.
Thanks a million for watching and putting in a great request. So, what you are refering to is more than likely the quick release bridle planer . And yes, I be getting into teaching how to do this in the up and coming episodes. While it is easier to complete retrieving the fish, because of the wind on leader, it can be tricky to get set up initially because of the quick release aparatus you have to hand craft. However, oncce you do it a couple of times, it'll be second nature and you won't have any trouble. Hope this helps. Thanks again for your support of the channel, I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing thanks , up coming months I would to love to come down with some of my fishing club guys and fish in your area . My daughter went to FAU years ago ,so I am familiar with the area .

Hello:Heath how far is the rief? I live in Palm Coast and have a 20’ Ronaldo never been in the ocean, love to tow my boat to were you fish! Where do you launch your boat to go out of Boca? Love your videos thank you Heath.
Thanks a million for watching and asking some great questions. Down here, there are three reefs that parallel the coast line. The first reef 30 - 90 ft is about 1/2 mile offshore... the second reef 120 - 200 ft is about 1-1/2 miles offshore... and the third reef 250 - 350 ft os about 2 miles offshore. I used a boat ramp called Silver Palms Park... you need a permit to use the boat ramp, they do sell daily permit through the city of Boca. Boat ramp is less than a 10 minute ride to the inlet/ocean. Hope this helps. Thanks again for your support of the channel. I truly appreciate it. Tight lines & take care ;)
3 ounce bucktail will trip a planer. So I don't recommend planer trolling with it. Yes you can troll any size bucktail... I've never had any luck with anything bigger than a 1 ounce
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing thank you so much for your help. I just moved here from NY to SE Fla. I’m learning how to fish here out of Boca inlet by your excellent video’s. Great job Heath !! Keep the lesson’s coming👍✌️😊

Have you tried the Spro silver jig with white tail? As effective as pure white?
Yes I've used it. Same results 😁 I think it's the white feathers that are the special sauce
The Fish Slayer 🐟😍
All day, every day ... I always seem to bring home dinner when he comes out with me ;)
:18 can a bucktail catch that fish? If so, how deep you have to drop the jig, and what weight would you use? Thank!
That's an African pompano, yes white bucktail jigs will catch them... they hang out on deep structures, I caught that one in 165 feet on a wreck.
Using a wire as a leader on a bucktail, does that effect the jig by reducing the fish's interest to bite the jig itself?
Yes using wire leader decreases your hook up ratio, but if you're fishing for toothy critters like cudas or kings, I recommend it.
Can you fish a 3 oz spro on a #3 planer? Also, can you troll different size spro’s without the planer?
3 ounce bucktail will trip a planer. So I don't recommend planer trolling with it. Yes you can troll any size bucktail... I've never had any luck with anything bigger than a 1 ounce
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing would a 1oz be ok on a #3 planer, or should I use a heavier planer?
1 ounce will work on a #3
