FINALLY someone who explains how to navigate internal/external ports, and the importance of port-forwarding both routers when you have more than one. Especially the bit about «internal / external port» made no sense to me because my router has those terms, but none of the other guides I found showed these settings or explained how to handle it. You are a godsend!
This is by far the best port forwarding video i have ever watched and I've seen hundreds. Thank you so much. Now i can finally play with all my console friends online.
BRO THANK YOU!!!!! Thank god people like you exsist. i have been struggeling so much to fix it but its now fixed. THANK YOU SO MUCH!"!!!!!! Insta subbing
Once you do this port forwarding to open Nat and connect better. Do I have to shut off upnp? And if i do what happens to my phone and computer and everything else. Does that all have to be port forwarded or that will work fine still with upnp off? Upnp is just for gaming? @TroubleChute
@TroubleChute Please let me know if this is safer then UPNP. I think this method is safer. Also i want to know if i have open already just from doing the router, can i leave the firewall alone? the game is allowed through. Should i add the ports to the firewall also? it stays open either way, But i feel better faster connection when i do the firewall also. I just havent done it bc I want to know if its safe. Please Lmk
Thanks for this video, but I need a little help: I'm connected to internet through a 5G connection with an external router (Zyxel NR7101). Inside my house, to effectively connect my devices to internet, I have a Zyxel Multy system in bridge mode. Should I have to open ports on both devices or only on the main external router? Thanks!
when i go to do the 27036-27037 TCP port it wont let me because its saying the entry already exists or is occupied, im guessing its coz ive done the 27000-27036 port for TCP/UDP already?
Hello Mr. TroubleChute, I have a problem i'd like to know if you can solve it or no. since forever and COD have a problem when 2 PC in the same house/network want to play where it connect one, but not the other. do you know how can we fix that!
same here. Were you ever able to fix? It is insane my son has to switch to xbox so he can play MW3 with me as we cannot connect at the same time when both on PCs.
Hi, is your servers through Battlenet, or Steam? and what reference did you use for the ports? I just wanna add, i can not find any reference, for TCP:3075. as far as im aware mate, when you have two devices in the same household. you can open ports on multiple devices, by giving them an unused port for the local/internal port, So Device one = int: 3074 - ext: 3074 / Device two= int:3075 - ext:3074 and so on, by giving it an unused internal port(or range) you can open ports for mutliple devices. i dont even know where you got 3075 from, so reference please? I like your stuff, but without a reference from activision themselves for the ports the server is using i dont think 3075 is nessesary for one device, unless they changed it but i doubt it because thats how they originally port forwarded two devices or more in the same household
Do you think you could point me in the direction of the correct *official* ports for mw3 and warzone? I noticed as well that every list of ports I’ve seen is always different from the last and now idk which is the right ones haha
I'm having some trouble getting my NAT type open with your guide. For some reason, my router doesn't allow me to do a range of ports under Int. ports like yours. I only get one box. So, for example: I can't do the range from 27000 - 27036 like you did under int. I am able to do it under Ext. ports just like you did. I've tried both the start number and the ending, but no luck. I called my ISP and they weren't able to help either....
Hey dude maybe a dead thread but this is a MEGA common problem with TPLink routers. even my cracked archer AX6000 router has same weird problem. for me it wont accept ranges in the internal only the external. all you have to do for TPlinks is leave the internal port box blank and save the rule and it will automatically fill it with your external range u entered. obviously i know this only applies to TPlink routers but i found this on a reddit thread and it saved me hours of head scratching
Thanks for the reply, but I've already tried that... It just gives me an error when I leave the box blank and says: "Incorrect data entered. Please correct marked fields". I contacted my ISP and they couldn't even help me. Buying a new router seems to be my only solution @@byronlefevre8266
For multiple devices playing cod on the same network, you should be enabling UpNp on your router ONLY! If your router does not support it, then portforward it, but do NOT do both.
Hi, I would like to know if I can do these steps while using a Network Switch. Basically, my connectien is as follows: Router to Switch via LAN Kabel and from Switch to PC via LAN Kabel. Would really appreciate your answer. Thanks
i couldn't find my wifi website.. it only shows me there products. can you help me find it and how to change the Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller wifi port please?
Son recenty got a PC and we cannot play together on MW3. Whoever logs in first gets in and then the other logs in and it disconnects from server. When he is on his xbox series x and me on my PC we can play together no issue. My nat is open and so is his on PC. Any thoughts on how we can make this work? I am wired and he is wifi.
My router only lets me forward one port, so when I went to check my nat type it didn't change. I went to the port triggering tab and that still didn't work.
I followed the instructions for setting rules in my firewall and it worked when I booted up the game. However the next time I came to boot the game the NAT was back to Moderate. I've tried disabling and enabling the rules but they made no difference, any advice? Thanks.
You will find the ports used in this guide on the activision port forwarding guides, and a hundred or more other articles explaining the same process (aside from the command shell prompts he shared, but all of the instructions of the prompt are standard executions which are safe). Don't do it if you don't trust it, but there's nothing here that can't be found in a million other places.
I'm done. Tried everything I could find and i'm still getting disconnected everytime I open the game, the only way I found to bypass that is to use a VPN. Fuck Activision.

Thank god you ran through this in warp speed. I would’ve hated to understand this the first time I watched 🤷🏻
0.5 speed then
Thanks buddy. Works like a charm.
Thank you, legend
This worked and got me to open nat type in 2024. Thank you so much!
Powershell commands are wrong for UDP. Change $tcpPorts in the script to $udpPorts on the UDP part. otherwise, works fine.
legend that worked for me, thanks!
Very good thanks 🙏
THANK YOU !!
The port for 27036 - 27037 doesn’t let me input, (error: port range overlap). Any clue?
Any fixes?

My router doesn’t have option for port forwarding? I’ve looked it up and some claim it uses “virtual servers” to port forward?
What if your router only allows you to input a certain amount of ports and not all of them can fit?
How did you customize your start menu like that?
nat type went from moderate to open but game still packet bursting , extrapolation , and latency variation lagging , game not playable 😢
does this work for xbox im so confused because my mwiii has been lagging and freezing all over the place
I must be blind... I do not see that copy and paste section for that description - Note: Not an avid RUclips user either

Yo i followed everything and im still on strict, nat type 3😢
can someone help who has att i dont have internal port or external port
i have base port and global port range
How do you do this if you have multiple PC's in the same house (on the same router) playing?
I am also having this issue where mutiple PCs cant connect to servers from the same network
@@barrymccaulkiner4232 In prev titles, its to do with 3074, the main port, change the internal/local port to a random port thats not in use
Any luck fixing. Having same issue.
did everything by the book, the game stays on moderate nat :(
It actually worked for me
Slow down speaking - aside from that this actually worked and is very appreciated.
NAT type open but now I have wildly fluctuating latency and between 1-3% packet loss cosntantly... What gives?
exactly the same as me
My router only lets me forward one port, so when I went to check my nat type it didn't change. I went to the port triggering tab and that still didn't work.
Not working. Still moderate NAT in MW3. But Vanguard I have open NAT.
Thanks you saved me
Nice
Ye small issue... IT DOESN'T WORK and I'm losing my mind over it. I've no idea what's going on
i tried everything (enable ports on my router and pc, enable UPnP, i even tried to enable DMZ )but still no change in my NAT type. any other tips?

It won't let me use the last one, help needed?

it automatically creates rules in the firewall so you don't do that manally port by port :) he explains it in the intro
