  • This is a premiere cycling event and it lived up to it's name, BIG TIME! What a ride!!! We took an extra day off on Friday to drive up 7-hr to Little Rock, Arkansas and then on Saturday participate in the Big Dam Bridge 100 the following day drive back home that Sunday. We stayed an at awesome hotel called Home2Suites that had great amenities and was a great place to stay with a fully stocked kitchenette, etc. Since this ride, I've stayed there again because I was so impressed. Also, there was a Whole Foods nearby that worked out well. The ride was just so incredible from the sights, sounds to the ride itself. Just a a full array of foliage along the ride and many beautiful bridges, rivers, mountains, etc. And we came into this ride with a few strong rides under our belts (Tour de Jefferson, Gran Fondo, etc.). Yet, we were completely at awe and humbled by the power and stamina of the riders in Arkansas and from all around (11 countries represented at this ride!). Man that was awesome riding with everyone! Well done! That first group was so much fun to ride with and chase at the point when the pace begin to get turbulent. And then to form a 2nd group was such a compliment to my riding that others would want to form a line behind me! I was basically a straggler from being dropped from the main group and then I end up having a line formed behind me without even realizing until I just "felt" those wheels and as I looked back I immediately felt that motivation to continue with my pace and perhaps even turn it up a notch. It was great to ride with them and then to finish off the ride with Mike and Alistair was great! Great riding you guys! Great teamwork and communication. And then to finish it off by getting over the Big Dam Bridge at around 44-miles was EPIC! Just a fun overall ride and experience! I definitely want to do this ride again! And there's so much to see and do in Little Rock from mountain parks, nature parks to everything else. It's a "Rocking" place (pun intended)!

Hot DAM! That was some RIDE! Welcome to the Tour d'Arkansas! The event was EPIC in every sense of the term: Gorgeous landscape, dramatic action, peloton camaraderie--the works! And the video captures it all, all the stages of an unforgettable race-RIDE, ahem (the speed you were going, however, you’re not fooling anyone! 😉) Thanks for bringing us along for the trip! Congratulations to the both of you for your awesome performance! DAM fine work! The Turbo Twins rocked Little Rock--BIG time!

Love when the cyclist in orange gets into his super tuck on Cantrell and proceeds to get pass. LoL.
    Great ride.

Haha. Well, it was a great tuck for sure. Probably just wanted to conserve and use aerodynamics there. But still, point taken. Thanks for stopping by and glad you enjoyed it! It's a great ride 👍

    Great vid with info…👍🏻
Did you have to use your bike computer to stay on the correct route or are they clearly marked as you go?

Thanks! To be honest, I was able to stick with some groups the whole time, which helped a lot. I simply knew that everyone in the 50 and 75 mile groups would go the same route up until the 50 and 75 split. So I basically just rode with groups. The split was clearly demarcated with two big signs (50M and 75M). After that, I was fortunate to be able to ride with two riders who did the ride before and I simply stuck with them all the way to the finish. But there were so many riders out there that I found it fairly easy to stay on course because there was typically somebody behind or up ahead throughout most of the ride. I think they may even have a SAG support.

We really liked it. Very scenic ride. The expo check-in at the convention center was also nice. Lots of great products and mementos.

Plenty of video footage, music was bumping and great that you incorporated the scenery shots along with some stats of the ride. You got a lot in and I like the length of the video. It was a trip down memory lane for me and I was captivated. I love the dialogue that you had with the other riders in the group you formed too.

So glad you enjoyed it man! It was a premiere cycling event with all the bells and whistles. The part that stands out to me is the countdown before the start with over 2,500 cyclists all chomping at the bit. And then when I point the camera at you as the countdown is underway and you nodding your head yelling "Let's Go, Let's Go!!" Memorable. And man did we go. We rode with the main group and got to experience some Arkansas speed. Definitely some strong riders in Arkansas and all around because as you said, 11 countries were represented at this event. You did marvelous man. You rode strong and steady and I can only imagine what that century was like, especially climbing those mountains. We were all supportive of each other throughout the ride and communication amongst the groups was very effective and easy to follow. It was an awesome ride!
