So the moral of the story is, if you see someone towing a trailer, give the space and patience. They are mostly likely having high anxiety, which is the worst. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks on the daily, so I emphasized. 😀❤️👉🏼🇨🇦
I have driven Denver many times, from Illinois, in the last 20 years. I start getting anxiety after Fort Morgan😂 I just drive like a Granny, which I am, and let the traffic do its thing.
I admire so much about your journey and your videos- but I think the biggest thing I admire is that you don’t pretend to always know what you are doing. You make it clear that you are learning, and on a journey, and I find that super inspiring
I was an over the road semi truck driver for almost 20 years. I turned in my CDL when I quit to make sure I'd never get desperate enough to do it again. Through covid I've had no luck getting a job and I'm just about to lose my apartment. I am so thankful you reminded me why driving a truck SUCKS! Having an obligation to move no matter how bad the weather is something I don't ever want to do again. Stay safe! Love you guys! My absolute favorite nomads. You guys really get what nomadic life is about.
He’s such a great partner! Always reassuring her that things will be ok. She praises him often for doing a good job & that’s how a good relationship is suppose to work!! Great job you two!!!!
I love how you guys showed the real, in the weather and also how emotional Elsa was while you guys were driving, but Barron said how you have to keep going an not let things like this get to you!! Both of you guys are such the match for each other🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰🥰! I’m also sooooo very happy you’re safe at your destination!!! Happy Safe Travels guys😊😊😊😊😊
Love that you said this. U-tube channels that show reality, not in the dramatic attention seeking way but in the everyday, are worth watching as is this channel!
Wow, that was some drive. Slow, steady, cautious, wins the day. Taking stock of the situation and controlling your emotions is an admirable trait. Hats off to you.
Barron and Elsa - thank you for showing this. I always get high anxiety on highways + extra when it's windy or it rains. Between me and my partner, I'm the only one who drives. He is not very understanding when I'm anxious to go on the road and it takes me a bit to gather the courage. Seeing Barron expressing my exact thoughts and fears about driving (people rushing on the highway, weather etc.) made me feel accepted. A lot better. Like someone gets it. Please share your hardships as often as you share your joys. It helps a lot.
I know what you mean about age and a toilet. My husband and I were pretty outdoors people and used the woods and a shovel, but this seventy-one-year-old body probably wouldn't be able to get up anymore. And I still have nightmares about the poison ivy I say in one time, and that was something that I never want again.😧
@@donnaloveall1470 Tells us about the poison ivy ordeal. Wow!! What an adventure!! It happened to us once when the kids were young. We foolishly listened to our teenager that wanted to push on home instead of staying overnight in a hotel. If it wasn't for the semi we followed, we never would have been able to stay on the road. Never again. Yes the format was wonderful but so are all your videos. You are so appreciated!!
Baron, I am from a family of motorcyclists. I have ridden through things that would make people in a car very nervous. And I kept my **** together, felt it out, and always made it. Even being on a motorcycle unsuited for the conditions. It's clear you have the mindfulness and feeling. Right on man.
Appreciate you keeping it real. We’ve been full time for almost a year; partially inspired by you. We’ve had some tense times ourselves, but honestly, selling our home & hitting the road is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! It’s all been worth it. Thank you for the inspiration 🙏💜
I’ve totally been in these conditions , this situation , towing , storm ... all of it . I’m sitting here holding onto my chair with my nails . Barron is an excellent driver . Ha, 5 minutes later Elsa says so! When you’re right , you’re right . And when two people genuinely like and appreciate one another ... It’s a beautiful and rare thing . Hold on tight to each other . This was awesome. I remember being baptized on the roads in snow driving an 18 wheeler all 48. Snow you eventually get used to and just keeping a safe distance from cars, letting them slide on by. Towing a light weight trailer is really tricky in windy icy conditions and add in hills. Slow and steady wins the day. brought back memories of an 8 hour drive home for Christmas we did 10 years ago with an 11 month baby in the back seat, snow all the way and so cold ice on the inside of the windows near the end. Just remember the exhaustion afterwards, from having to concentrate so much during the driving, and anticipating other drivers actions, well done Barron............
I am with you about the stress of driving in the bigger cities. I live on the east side of Washington State and when I get to I-90 heading over the mountain to Seattle my stress level starts to take over. I really think people forget how to drive over there.
Ontario (CAN) driver here. Driving in any amount of snow sucks. I am glad see that you did not underestimate the road conditions and were very cautious. Great job!
Barron, one thing you might mention, the new scamps are heavier and the new Foresters and Outbacks no longer tow as much with the CVT Transmission. I had to sell my Forester and got a Toyota Tacoma. I wish I could pull the 13' with the Forester, I was sad to see it go. But this way we decided to go up to the 16' Scamp, I think we will enjoy the extra room. We are 62 and 63 and opted for the bathroom. Yay! You guys rock! Keep up the fun adventures! Love seeing what you are up to!
This video was way too relatable for me 😂 I also find myself getting pissed/sad/anxious in the passenger seat of a rig with a pup during stressful driving situations. Great video, thanks for never “glamorizing” this lifestyle. I have my predictions for what the exciting announcement is.. can’t wait to see what y’all are up to next!
I felt that traffic anxiety when I went back to work after a year of lockdown. As more people go back, the traffic is getting worse. At least it’s spring. I’m glad you made it!
I would be beyond anxious! You did so well guys! I was so tense watching this. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath till you said “we made it” Yes, it was worth showing us! I like this as much as the good, life is easy, relaxing in the hot springs vids😊
Before you even asked I was going to comment that this was one of my favorite videos... And I must say that the last six or eight of your videos have been highlights of this channel... I've been watching from the beginning. So yes this latest video is a good style a nice change of pace. I don't follow podcasts so I'm missing out on your nomad podcast.
As a long time trucker, I can confirm your conclusion that driving in a snowstorm is a stressful event. And ten times worse when there's traffic, because so many people either don't know, or don't care what they're doing on the road. When you do a lot of it, snow tires on all four corners is the best. Even with two-wheel drive. All wheel drive is a blessing. Having tire chains is another cheap insurance, and in the mountains even chains for the trailer tires! The best answer is Elsa's - park it and wait for the roads to clear. Of course, you can't always do that, hence crappy slush build-up on the front of the trailer and on the nerves.
Always fun driving in a storm. Looks like you guys were passing through my back yard! Next time you get caught in a storm in bailey/conifer feel free to set up on our land right off 285 so you don't have to endure that craziness. Glad y'all are safe!

A necessary video - the reality of the full time nomad. Most of us in northern climates have all had a tense driving situation. You kept your cool. Landed safely. That is all that matters. Thanks for being real.
Glad you guys are all good :) up here in Alaska we got a horrible snowstorm. Got a foot of snow in a night and continued to snow through out the day. Let’s just say I feel you guys with the bad roads 😂
Love your podcasts. We live in Canada and are constantly dealing with those road conditions. It's bad enough in the car but we have also experienced a white knuckle ride through a busy city while towing our small trailer. Baron expressed it so well, basically take your time, leave as much room as possible, lookout for the lunatics and I liked he had both hands on the wheel.
Denver traffic in perfect conditions is more "extra" than I care to deal with. That storm crap added in....yeah I would need a strong whiskey to decompress! Nice video
Having your own internal shower while in ski towns during the winter is nice. My latest attempt at an indoor shower in a rig that does not have an indoor shower is a Geyser shower.
Funny how this type of anxiety filled driving can be so exhausting. Made me relive my own personal sketch snow driving adventures! You did great though. Liked the addition. Of voice over.
As someone who lives in Colorado and occasionally frequents Denver the traffic is no joke and the anxiety that comes with driving in it is so bad. So I was getting anxious for you guys and felt your stress level so much. Glad you made it to where you guys were going safely 💙😃
Were you talking about Hoosier pass going to Breckenridge? If so, that pass causes me anxiety every time we go in the snow. Also, Denver traffic gives me anxiety even on a nice day. 😂
So glad you got to your destination safely! I felt all the anxiety you did, and having grown up in snow country didn’t change it. I have lived in 4 large cities over my life and feel it every time I get near one now - especially having lived in small towns the last 15 years. It was comforting to know Barron just did his thing and let the crazies go on by and allowed the time to get where you needed to go. Safety first is my motto, especially in winter conditions. And AWD is great, but doesn’t work as well if no snows are on the car. I’ll take snow tires every time!
Guys you are invading my dreams, for some reason I was dreaming last night that I was watching a video where you guys were sharing a life changing announcement.
my wife and I watch your videos and listen to the podcast together. We are almost in our 60's and your channel has made us hungry for travel and advenure! We learn alot from you both...thanks for what you share with us. *kev & kathryn from Ohio*
Good to know that I am not the only one who gets increased anxiety in city traffic. It drains you but glad to see you both took it in stride nice and safely.
Driving in snow is something that you have to review when winter starts every year. Growing up in Minnesota you learn the ins and outs. It definitely becomes more difficult when there are people who are new to snow driving, Yep, Elsa, I am sure I have had that look on my face while in a snowstorm. I really liked your video work on this one. I hope you had fun at your cousin's home, you two!

Love kamp being all zen in the back
Cheetos - Treatos - Fritos and Sardinos . . .
That was awesome. My heart was in my throat half the time. I agree with Elsa, you are an excellent driver! Glad y'all are safe and warm.
Agree and his temperament ...not to mention kind of dreamy !
No threats, just noticing 🍻
Denver traffic in perfect conditions is more "extra" than I care to deal with. That storm crap added in....yeah I would need a strong whiskey to decompress! Nice video
Hah!! That's PRECISELY what we ended our night with!!
Camp looks serious too!
I enjoy the podcast a lot. So this was like seeing the podcast come to life...
Loved it!
Love you Elsa and Barron and scamp
Love you!
Having your own internal shower while in ski towns during the winter is nice. My latest attempt at an indoor shower in a rig that does not have an indoor shower is a Geyser shower.
OMG going back to the beginning until now you guys look like teenagers you are troopers
Funny how this type of anxiety filled driving can be so exhausting. Made me relive my own personal sketch snow driving adventures! You did great though. Liked the addition. Of voice over.
Elsa, you & Camp did SO much better than i would have. "Very good job!", to all 3 of you.
Stay safe, nomads. 🤗❤👍
Watching this caused my anxiety to spike and I’m in my home. You guys are amazing!
Guys you are invading my dreams, for some reason I was dreaming last night that I was watching a video where you guys were sharing a life changing announcement.
Wait!!! I just saw the new video!!!! My dreams never lieee!!!
I could feel the stress! You did great though!
It looks like you need new windshield wipers ~
my wife and I watch your videos and listen to the podcast together.
Being from Canada that really wasn't that much snow.
Being from Florida, it was.😜
It’s a spring snow which is more difficult to drive in.
I love snow driving but I totally get the anxiety toward others on the toad for sure 🤣
I agree completely driving in snow with other cars very difficult. People can be unpredictable. Give me just snow any time.🌨❄
Driving in snow is something that you have to review when winter starts every year.
