Socially detached could have been so neglected psychologically by parents/family/all others that being removed from all others is not for the purpose of self protection. They don't even know that they are supposed to be included and cared for. It simply does not occur to them.

I have been looking for someone talking about addiction related to being on the receiving end of abuse (specifically related to those with cluster B disorders NPD and ASPD). With both narcissism and opiate addiction and death on the rise in the U.S. could there possibly be more cases like mine . I When my 20 year old son overdosed and died in 2016 he had an established case of Complex PTSD related to years of hidden abuse as the target of his sociopathic father (actually diagnosed ASPD) and narcissistic extended family. I just just have to wonder with overdose now being the top reason for death in people under 50 in the US, and also how narcissism and narcissistic abuse is almost a household word now if trauma isn't a bridge connecting these two things. I'm afraid that what happens is that survivors focus on the symptom such as addiction or depression and not the cause, and in so doing fail to find the support we crave. I have found very little relief in groups for people who have lost someone to addiction because that just wasn't what it was about, and it never is. Where is the pain coming from? What came before the drugs? I understand thatyou are talking about addiction in the narcissists but your video was the closest I've come and I thought it might speak to someone. Being estranged from a narcissistic family is its own kind of loss as is losing a loved one especially a child, but when the abuse and the death are related it takes it to a whole new level where you feel like no one can relate to what you have been through, but with the sheer numbers that can't possibly be true. Losing a child is bad, losing a child so tragically is really bad, but losing a child because of the malevolence of people who were supposed to love and protect them is beyond words.

I'm sorry for your loss. There are indeed a lot of people suffering at the hands of others. I was thinking the other day, a lot of pain is caused by a deficit of love. God bless you. I hope you find healing.

How would you differentiate either from ADHD? Trauma often gets mixed up with ADHD, and a person with severe ADHD may appear to have a personality disorder when the core issues are hyperactivity and impulsivity.

This is clearly speaking to me. I was diagnosed with PTSD, BIPOLAR DISORDER AND BPD. But the disorders were not explained to me well. I only had medication given to me. So thank you very much for this which helps me understand why I’m the way I’m.🙏🙏🙏

😭😭😭What happens when the underlying traumatic unresolved grief is not attended to, but diagnosed with PD, and for six years just manifests acute anger, on and off cannabis, and spends years in different psychiatric hospitals? This is soul piercing. I have never heard such an accurate explanation, thank you.

Ohh yeah...it couldn’t possibly be that people who have been diagnosed with BPD are just under constant stress and traumas...why would anyone believe that a recurring cycle of trauma from outside forces is what’s actually been happening?! You’re close. But I’ve lived it. I want it to be over like all the rest. I can’t cure it because I’m not the one in control here. I have feelings and no matter how many or what medications people put me on, I still feel. Deeply! Too much for most and too much for myself. I’m so done with drs thinking they know and they have no idea!!!
