This is, hands down, the most skillful and informative highlight tutorial I've seen. Ever. And the end result is so seamless that it looks like the client's natural color. Which I thought was impossible for _foil highlights,_ especially when doing bright blonde. I've seen blonde children with this same color in the summer. This girl is a meticulous master of her craft.

Coming from a licensed cosmologist myself for over 17 years, you did an amazing job! You're model is absolutely gorgeous and her hair is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your techniques and tips with us. Thank you to your model for allowing herself to be videoed so we all can see. Ignore the negative comments. I'm sure the model wasn't focusing on her makeup techniques. Like she mentioned, she also work there and probably just in a hurry to get her hair done. I think she's beautiful regardless. Some people just enjoy being judgemental, picking on others, complaining about irrevelavent things. Because they're miserable and just want to make themselves feel better. Keep on doing your thing and continue to inspire the ones who truly appreciate your work. God bless you! ❤️❤️❤️👍

If i had a dollar for every time i walked out of a salon with orange roots or an ugly toner on my head bcuz of the bleach not staying on long enough... So right about being scared of bleach and leaving on the head longer-it HAS to go thru all the stages to processes. Im a natural dark blonde and my hair takes longer to processes then most people think. Fabulous blonde! Its so nice to see someone take such care about their work. I would love to see the root toner used as a low light to give her a little more dimension plus I always think it helps her natural color grow out a little more gracefully. The money pieces looked so white in some lighting that it almost made other pieces look brassy and comparison. Some clients want to be really blonde by the face but then they don't realize how much that's going to wash them out or that the most damage is being done front-and-center for everyone to see which is also probably the part that gets the most damage from styling tools and products.

Love all your videos, but this one was awesome how you shared your tips and tricks!! It's so great that you want to help other colorist. A Very long time ago (probably 20 years lol) so many colorist and stylist wouldn't share their knowledge. That's what made them money and kept what they knew to themselves. Not all, but a lot wouldn't share what they knew in fear of losing clients. It makes me happy to see fellow stylist doing well for themselves. It's really cool that you give back!! Be very proud of yourself cause you're extremely talented and know your shit lol.. I've been in this business for 29 years. Started as a shampoo assistant at 15 and I've learned new tricks from you. You said all the things I always want from a stylist but can't EVER find.. like brighter around the face, making sure when hair is up I still look blonde and the extra brightness at the ends and going all the way up to the top end of the foil but not past or too close to the roots !!! But I never had anyone do these things for me... honestly. 😢 I have been so frustrated with the lack of attention to detail, plain laziness and the extreme price from some of the stylists. I tried yet another referral from a friend recently and she was so very average and my hair barely looked like anything had been done to it... like I went to get my roots touched up but it still looked dirty, not refreshed & too grown out when she was finished but she charged me $400 dollars. So I finally just decided to start learning for myself .. that's actually why I came across this video because I'm certain I will do my hair better than the any of the stylists I have had the last few years! I have ended up doing this with pretty much all of my beauty concerns like lash extensions (yes the actual lash extensions that are either a fan or single lash on a lash) I just taught myself and watched videos and now I do my moms and a couple close friends and even mastered how to do them on myself (figured out a method that allows me to keep my eyes open and still use the strong glue without it burning them or making them water) I also have learned to do my nails.. acrylic or gel extensions.. and even do my own professional spray tan on myself. Haha I just get sick of spending money to be let down or not happy! And like I said before a lot of people just don't care about the work they do anymore.. just a lot of unnecessary lazy mistakes cause they don't care. Which drives me mad cause I'm just not like that.. if I'm going to do something I'm going to do it to the best of my ability and get better each time.
I wish i could find someone that you.. I WOULD DIE if you were located near the DFW metroplex in Texas!!
Your can tell your very talented and care about your clients and your work. Thank you for all the amazing knowledge & information you provided :)

ginger herman not all hair needs to be toned. Switching to toner may very well leave you disappointed, as untoned highlites are brighter with a natural golden undertone. Unless your color is yellow or orange, avoid toners.

I wonder how much you’re paying and how much time you’re willing to spend in the salon. A lot of the gals getting hair done in these video are prof vloggers and therefore it is their “job” to spend hours in the salon getting their hair/ make up/ nails done to perfection. These
~extras~ take time and product for a professional to do, and therefore cost more.

    • @kathybrintlinger9993
      @kathybrintlinger9993 5 лет назад +3

angelica10123 I’ve spent over 6 hours in the salon but usually 3 hours or a little more. I’ll sit for as long as it takes. I rarely get my nails done professionally and address skincare issues elsewhere. Normally it costs anywhere from 125 to 240 with a couple products. I go every 4-5 weeks. I had a great hairdresser that moved away. I was in and out in 3 hours every time and always happy. Same salon . I did wonder how much the real high end salons charge in big cities. I’d be willing to save up and travel to get it done right. Then hope someone can copy what I have.

That came out so beautiful, & so natural-looking. I just discovered your amazing videos today, & I am addicted! Do you ever work with ethnic hair, or do processes like keratin treatments, straighteners, or wave perms?

ToND1Ne thank you so much! I don’t do much ethnic hair. I do Brazilian blowouts and perms, but I would love to learn more.

I'm grateful to learn more about this, I know and understand all about ethnic hair. I have learn a lot from watching these types of videos. Ethinic hair doesn't do this level of bleaching, this is intresting

Jessi Gish ...I just happened on your video..well done ! camera work, music choice , your meticulous work & explanations. Just beautiful work! I've learned a lot! Can you show your technique with a keratin/smoothing treatment that works on blonded hair. My client loves her blonde but her natural texture has frizziness in the humidity. She hates it but her narrow face really looks better with fullness. It's to her shoulders now, growing a few more inches to wear up.

I loved this video so much! Foils are definitely a strong suit of mine, but being a beginner I tend to forget basics like how toning the roots differently can make a world of a difference in the end result! Thank you so much! I really hope to be foiling hair like a pro just like you sometime soon ♥️❤️💜💕

BEAUTIFUL blonde hair and talented work! Have you ever tried to brush some lightener on the middle of the foil before you saturate the section of hair? It does a couple of things; keeps the hair from slipping, and adds some lightener to the back of the slice|weave.
I learned from Redken, and practiced taking my tail comb at the bottom of the foil, and letting the foil fold over the top of the tail comb and pressing it to the next parting on the scalp. I appreciate your tips, and if these tips slow down the process too much? In beauty school we were taught to fold the top of the foils forward with the tail comb. Thank God for Mr. Victor! He said the fold foil in the back with your tail comb bc it acts like a band aide from bleeding.

Hi new subbie here. I just wanted to tell you that this was a really informative video. Thank you so much for doing this video. I have been a stylist for 15 years and I did not receive really good training in school on how to do highlights. Everything I learned has been from me being in a salon, from co-workers and classes that I have taken. Thank you for all these tips. These are sooo helpful because I struggle with doing foils. Some days, I have great work and then other days, not so much. I want to be consistent and increase my color clientele. Please keep doing these types of videos. Even us experienced stylist need this information.

I’ve honestly gotten so depressed by trying to achieve this blonde she did. I show pictures and the same pics with different angles so the hairstylist could understand and nothing is ever done right. My money and my hair has suffered soo much... I just wish to find someone who would finally make my wish come true.

Try overlapping on dark asian hair like this and the hair will break everywhere. This technique will only work if they have natural light becase. For asian hair almost everytime we need to use 40vol and will result in breakage guaranteed.

Your amazing at highlighting fantastic results every time I'm so envious of your clients I wish you could come to the uk to do my blonde highlights. I haven't found a good colourist since moving here so its been one disappointment after another my hair came out darker than when I went in. Its tough considering I was a great hairdresser for many years now the covid hit us bad and my blonde hair is dissappearing rapidly its not easy doing it yourself it just doesn't come out the same .

I have such a hard time getting anyone to give me ashy blonde highlights! I do not look good in Gold highlights. Gold colors make my face look red! Some of us just have to do Ash! I tell them I want my highlights to be silvery-white and beige, but no gold. I can't tell you how many times I've walked out with gold hair and $150 poorer. Is there another way I can word it? I thought I was working it pretty explicitly. LOL

Very nice! I have started tapping the root for all of my really light blondes and even my not so light blondes for the same reason but it also makes the grow out is so much softer and clients appreciate that. I'll also use a base breaker sometimes if they are naturally 6-7 or lighter. Plus I love it when my client comes in for their next appointment and say people are still complimenting on their hair so when they mention how long its been since they have had it done its a great compliment to me and maybe being on more clients! Good video.
