    Today i rant about the MCU and how the MCU isnt dead, and how not liking the MCU isnt the same as The MCU being dead
    this is pretty much an open letter to anyone who is claiming the MCU is dead just because you didnt like a few of their last few projects
    and honestly if you didnt like all or most of phase 4, you dont like marvel anymore, sorry, move on
    cause shits gonna keep going this path

    I will say despite some nitpicking with certain story decisions, I still very much enjoy the MCU. You made some excellent points, if people don’t like the movies. That’s fine…. But if someone is going out of their way to say “Old MCU stuff was better this new stuff is trash and MCU is dying because I said so…” Then you’re not just disliking some movies are you actively looking for conflict with fans who still enjoy the old and new. This is drama with Star Wars all over again, just painted a different color of bitterness. I stand firm with the MCU #MCUNOTDEAD

    “Oh but the shows didn’t get popular and the recent movies are bad”… the shows are amazing (minus she-hulk imo) and were popular?! I saw things all over social media. The recent movies have been good aswell. Just because every movie or show isn’t 110% doesn’t mean it’s dead.

    Even Feige himself admitted that a lot of their recent projects haven’t been doing well critically and/or commercially (saw it in a news article btw). And they’re currently trying to find the right creative direction after the whole Jonathan Majors situation and numerous flops.
    Aside from that, I am not a huge fan of phases 4-5 compared to 1-2-3, but I did always think they had some redeeming qualities. I feel like Marvel NEEDS to take advantage of those qualities like the Celestials, X-Men, FF, etc. I don’t want them to become desparate.

    The MCU is dying in certain aspects. I can ignore all pandemic releases box office numbers and those “flops” but Ms. Marvel did not catch on, the directors are not properly communicating, and the writing is becoming terrible. The tv shows don’t have legs like Netflix shows, no one is talking about Hawkeye, Moon Knight, etc. Wandavision & Loki have had the strongest runs and impact. Also the oversaturation is watering down the projects, rushing them, writing while filming them and screwing over VFX artists. It’s not dead, but it’s bleeding and they have to fix the wounds.

    I'm actually currently making my own video defending the current state of the MCU. I've seen people say how phase 4 was "a drop in quality from the first three phases". Now while I do agree Phase 4 is a step-down from Phase 3, but I ALWAYS knew it was going to be that way due to how great Phase 3 was, I do, however, think there can can be more debate about whether Phases 1 and 2 are ACTUALLY better than Phase 4, because I think people forget that while, yes, Iron Man, The Avengers, Captain America The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy were always raved about and talked about for days, at the times of their releases, a lot of people:
    1) didn't care about Captain America The First Avenger and Ant-Man;
    2) found Iron Man 2+3 and Avengers Age of Ultron to be major disappointments;
    3) and even to this day some of these same people still consider The Incredible Hulk and Thor 1+2 (The Dark World) to be some of the worst films in the franchise.

    Even in some of the lesser shows and movies like Black Widow and Hawkeye, they still had amazing elements in it. I don’t think there’s a single character in those shows I don’t like. Black Widow only really gets bad in the third act and even then there’s some good jokes in there. I think most people who say the MCU is bad, are just those you checked out after endgame and are sick of people who still enjoy it. Honestly my only problems with this current phase has been the VFX artist stuff which pisses me off and the how they barely leave room between their projects anymore. Also Wanda in MoM. But that’s my own opinion

    Mcu is not dead but its actually progressing towards its doom. They should focus on the quality not the quantity. Nobody asked she hulk echo hawkeye groot tv shows. Even VFX artists are leaving marvel cause of how much atress is there and how they are always working on deadlines. In my opinion give the audience a chance to breathe and digest what they just saw before load them with tons of another shows and movies. Thor love and thunder is not that great just admit itand neither dr strange 2 they both were ok. No way home was not great in story perspective but nostalgia and old characters came on screen. Lets talk about jokes there is nothing wrong with jokes but if you have watched thor 4 then you know that Thor made a joke on lady sif's hand when she was on the blink of death🤷🤷. In No way home may dies peter mourns for some time and in the lab they did peter Parker spiderman joke🤷🤷 his aunt just died well it was a nitpicking but those are there. M not against anyone's opinion here i respect them but you gotta admit that MCU is not doing great. Ms Marvel does not connect anywhere but she has a show so MCU can have The Marvels movie 🤷🤷. Why does ECHO gets a show she is an antagonist who needs agathas show i mean c'mon 🤷🤷. The problem with MCU now is they want to milk evry character they see. Give spiderman a break what is this freshman of the year shit.

    "You just don't like it anymore." Here's the big deal about that, you see, in that sentence, "You" represents more than half of the people who gave recognition to the brand.
    Phase 1-3 giveth and Phase 4 taketh away. Phase 4 has been like they (Disney/Marvel) hired a new executive producer who wasn't briefed on who the MCU's audience is. Post Endgame, we've been getting sub par storylines, and unnecessary underlying politics attached to projects.
    And, I get that they're (Disney/Marvel) trying new things, but it really feels like they're reaching into a raffle bucket and pulling out random project titles, then hiring activists as writers, directors, and project consultants.
    Also, I would imagine that a big part of the problem with Phase 4 is that, strangely while Feige remains head honcho, the franchise seems to be lacking in direction and insight. And, there's like this growing disconnect from its audience that has been leading to a good amount of tension in social media.
    So far, Disney/Marvel have been too busy pandering to social groups to make time for giving the MCU's main audience what they want. If the franchise is to come back to healthy profits, they will need to get their priorities in order.
    It's really a sad state of affairs right now, but in understanding that a company can learn from their mistakes, I remain optimistic about the future.

    • @DecoyZ
      @DecoyZ  2 года назад +1

      But this isn't abnormal
      People grow up, and their tastes change
      And its not like The MCU has lost "2/3rds" of their money
      Contrary to what some ranting people on here say they're still pulling numbers
      Thor 4 (the one that "everyone hated")
      Has made more than ragnarok
      To be fair Thor 4 cost more, so they didn't get as big of a payday
      But that's not the point
      The point is that there's still the exact amount of people if jot more tuning into mcu and giving it their money
      The mcu is not dying
      And phase 4 has had some of the greatest stories in the entire MCU
      Its just a different style
      So some people aren't gonna like it
      But a lot more people are

    • @klouddsurferful
      @klouddsurferful 2 года назад +1

      @@DecoyZ I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on the MCU's growth and numbers.
      The MCU is definitely in decline. I didn't say it was dead though; in fact I still follow the MCU, and I've been a fan since Iron Man 1.
      But, all you have to do is look at the latest box office numbers to know that the franchise isn't bringing in the same profits. And, it definitely hasn't been improving in quality. You can see that in its declining critical scores and the mixed reception of its latest projects. A lot of that is because the talent is no longer there.
      What bothers me the most though is that it appears that the franchise is no longer reaching out to a broad audience with some shows being too female centric, too kid centric, or too adult, and that is what concerns me, because I fear that the MCU may be on its way to becoming a niche pleasure or a fad.
      And as far as Thor 4 is concerned, it still underperformed even though it made more than Ragnarok, therefore it wouldn't be a legitimate example of proof that the MCU is growing.

With Disney putting out near impossible deadlines making cgi get worse for the many tv shows it releases a year. Okay, firstly you need to watch more quality content.
    Literally everything in Phase 4 is lacklustre. Terrible CGI, plot contrivances, horrendous joke overuse and LITERAL massive plotholes that ruin previous films.
    The MCU is not dead. It’s way too powerful as a money making machine and with its grip on culture. Phase 4 has been a success for Marvel.
    But literally almost everything in Phase 4 has been Okay I guess, to Meh to complete utter dogshit in terms of storytelling, filmmaking and effects.
    Hell, Phase 3 wasn’t perfect either.
    I’ll just say, watch some in-depth hour long reviews on No Way Home like WayHome Machine Broke-
    S.K’s review on No Way Home & especially endgame.
    No Way Home’s plot literally makes no fucking logical sense at all.
    People’s tastes aren’t changing. They’re recognising a clear and obvious dip in quality.

    "Those (Phase 4 products) are some of the best MCU projects that have EVER been on screen." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
    No. People that understand writing, storytelling, and film can, in fact, explain the difference between good and bad products. Quality and competence are not as 100% subjective as clowns like this guy would like you to believe. Most people would agree that (other than the clowning of Doctor Strange) Spider-Man: No Way Home is a good film. Most people would also agree that WandaVision was also of high quality save for the fact they couldn't stick the landing in the finale. Shang Chi, Eternals, and Moon Knight are of decent quality, but suffer from the fact that not enough attention was given to making them truly fit into the MCU in any meaningful or coherent way. Everything else in Phase 4 is of low quality. It's bad almost entirely due to the fact that it suffers from some extremely poor writing on the part of the creators. Plot contrivances and conveniences abound. Blatant pandering to "muh diversity". The lack of any real passion or respect for the characters or the source material is crystal clear in Thor: L&T, Loki, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Ms. Marvel, and She Hulk.
    There is actually a difference between good and bad films. Stop shilling.
