Japan at Night: Osaka's Street Food Tour at the famous Dotonbori Area

  • I've heard Osaka often referred to as "The Kitchen of Japan". That certainly is a ringing endorsement and I couldn't resist to try out all the foods and dishes Osaka has to offer. But, this time I wasn't going at it alone, I've booked a food tour to see if I can get some local advice. Thanks to Meg, our culinary guide for this adventure, we set off to tour Osaka's culture and food scenes.
    From temples and shrines, to the evening food markets, we had wonderful activity filled evening exploring Osaka's recommended Okonomiyaki, Kushikatsu and Okonomiyaki spots! We ended the tour in Osaka's famous Dotonbori Area. And while the tour was over and our appetites full, there was so much more to explore and I can't wait to explore together.
    More food destinations with signs tempting you with the giant crab and globes of Takoyaki, I quickly gave in....a plate of Takoyaki, a few skewers of Yakitori, and some dessert, Dotonbori is quite a lively place to visit!

    I spent a week in Osaka, years ago. Osaka is the home of the Japanese mint. The food is great. The crabs, fish are delicious; but the Kobe beef which is close to Osaka, is unforgettable! I cannot forget the distinctive cuisine throughout Japan.

      Dotonburi is quite amazing at night. There are so many places to eat at night as well, but they're usually small shops and there is a significant lineup as well. Sometimes waiting two hours for a bowl of ramen at midnight....

    Hello Tim
    I'm so jealous that you get to eat melon pan. It's my favorite food . I would eat every day. Theres so many sight tasty treats. I tried Takoyaki with Bonito flake on top.
    I wouldn't like it as I only eat tuns, Cod, Haddock And White Fish. Don't know what white fish is taste like Cod to me. But I really liked. Them the other thing you've already tasted. .Okonomiyaki .
    is there a food you don't like but found on your travels that they made it taste and you were shocked about liking it their way. X😮
    How safe is it do you think for a lone disabled female who wants to visit Japan.

    • @TimLeeLetsGo
      @TimLeeLetsGo  Год назад

      Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out... That was the first time trying melon bread and it was very delicious. I would highly recommend travel even to japan.. safely though. You just do need to be a little bit cautious because there is somewhat limited accessibility service in japan, although Tokyo and other major cities should be fine. Probably not to the standards of north america, but definitely lots of elevators and accessibility features
